The demon was massive - the might of Acadi's thunder did not threw him away, but you could see the blow to be delivered, flattening his rib cage, right on top of yet another bolt from Fran's crossbow and the force strike of the Eldritch Blast from Polly. Ordrag's blades finished what was left of the monster and heavy body dropped on the deck with it's own thunderous thud.
A few moments later the body disappeared, decomposing in front of your eyes into a puddle black heavy liquid of with the consistency and odor of bile - Demon ichor.
The battle over the Dock died out as well, as lazy as they look, devils knew how to fight and were ready for the assault. OwImp informed Polly that Bazelsteen is done there, giving some last orders and is about to return.
Mooncolor, looking much better now, carefully went around the disgusting remains, and touched with it's horn the most wounded: 13 to Ordrag, Polly and Adray.
Hydroloths were nowhere to be seen, but considering some of them lived in the river, and yet devils in the Dock did not seemed to care - another attack was unlikely. The Rive Styx was again quiet stinky self.

Polly fluttered back down to the ship and slumped against a wall. She was pooped. Battered. Exhausted.
Owimp came flying in and dropped down in front of her, landing between her feet with a "Hmph!" The red imp all but stomped his foot but he did put his hands on his hips in an obvious sign of annoyance. "You happy now? You almost got me killed! Like a dozen times! Making me fly around and play general directing people and demons, pointing out enemies, basically being the brains of the whole thing! How dare you??"
Polly lifted her head just enough to look at the familiar through half lidded eyes. "Shuddup," she said in a muttered growl. "You loved it..."
"That, missy, is entirely besides the point!" OwImp replied and turned his back to her, crossing his arms across his chest. "You never asked me to do such in my other form!"
"You couldn't have done it as a Fey Mouse," Polly replied.
"Again, point entirely missed!"
"What is the point? You want to go back to mouse form? To being cute and fuzzy and living in my pocket? In doing nothing more than nibbling on food and keeping me company when I was pouty?" Polly's eyes narrowed now, getting a headache in advance of the uncountable times she imagined she'd be having this discussion in the future. "You know what... You never did complain when you couldn't even speak... So fine."
OwImp looked back at Polly, then went back to looking away from her. He then quickly turned around again. "Now, now... Let's not be hasty... I didn't exactly say to turn me back..."
"Did to."
"Did not! I merely said you never asked me to fly into danger before..."
"Before this fight even began you said, and I quote..." Polly interrupted the imp.
"Now, now! There's no need to be quoting and correcting people! Sheesh... We'll talk about this again when you're in a better mood!" OwImp insisted, half turning as if that would end the conversation.
Polly continued to stare at OwImp but her eyes softened. It was a big change. For herself but also for him... Maybe this was all a mistake. Maybe it wasn't worth it... But it was too late now. At least for her. But that didn't mean it had to be too late for OwImp. Owis.... Polly gently sighed. "C'mere... If you want to go back that's fine. It's your choice. I shouldn't make it for you."
"Don't go doing me any favors," OwImp said grumpily.
"I'm not. I was wrong. I should have asked you."
"Darn tooting you should have asked me!" OwImp insisted.
"So C'mon. I'll put you back to how you were," Polly said.
"You haven't learned a thing, have you?" OwImp replied and took a few steps away. "Still not asking... You're just saying what'll happen and being bossy..."
Polly blinked. "Did... Do you... want to go back?" She asked tentatively.
OwImp didn't answer, merely shifted from foot to foot, his tail scraping along the deck of the ship as it slowly adjusted to keep him well balanced.
"Do... Do you not... want to go back?" Polly was just as tentative, her voice soft.
The bat-like wings on OwImp's back fluttered a few times in annoyance, or perhaps acceptance? There was a pause that stretched and ripened... Eventually OwImp broke it by flapping his wings to bring himself aloft once more. He pivoted midair to turn and look at Polly for a moment. "I thought you said we could talk about it later?" He asked in annoyance, and then took off, flying through the air the length of the ship before darting out towards the dock...
The next sound Polly was aware of was the sound of hooves. She turned to see Mooncolor stepping gently towards her. Polly didn't move, tried to not even look too closely at the beautiful unicorn for fear of scaring them off. Gently they bent their head and their horn slowly descended and laid upon Polly's shoulder for a moment. She yearned, craved to reach up and touch the horn with her hand, to reach out and touch Mooncolor's face... But she dare not. Once, not a day ago which seemed like a millennia ago, she would have. She would have been sure her touch would have been accepted. Welcomed. But now? She was shocked it even deigned to get this close to her... She barely even realized that they were passing on healing, ascribing the warm, healthy glow Polly felt infusing through her to be just from the joy of the creature and not their healing magics...
"Thank you," Polly whispered even as the magnificent creature departed to aid another...
Polly felt much better after the experience with Mooncolor. Much, much better. She wasn't sure what she should have expected but she didn't expect to feel this much better. It was almost as if she got every healing drop possible... ((Gift of the Ever Living Ones - Whenever you regain hit points while your familiar is within 100 feet of you, treat any dice rolled to determine the hit points you regain as having rolled their maximum value for you. -- OwImp must not have flown too, too far away!))
Even with the healing Polly was eager for rest. Her body was mainly rejuvenated but her eldritch powers... Well they were filling kind of wiped. Still, they had a job to do.
"Hey!" Polly called out. "Can we get that sphere pulled up with nobody in it? I think we had the rods... so let's get them?"
The moment the intensity of battle bagan to subside and Mooncolour was well, tending to the others, Fran would finally let out a breath of relief. She wouldn't stay still long. Time teh scavenge. Immediately, she'd begin retrieving her daggers and bolts (as many as she could!). During her retrieval, the Battle Smith would take a double take at the heavy liquid left behind. Something about it seemed familiar. Demon Ichor... With a tilted head, she'd squat down to take a closer and more curious look. The artificer would spot one of her bolts on the edge of the puddle and pick it up, its tip dipped in the substance. Interesting... Fran would pat around herself with her free hand as her eyes would scan the puddle, sizing it up for harvesting potential and quantity. She was looking for some handy dandy tools for some safe extraction and experimentation. Eventually, she'd lay out a cloth on the ground with a spread of tools, gadgets and vials. Even some of her daggers were splayed out.
(Intention/Hope is to harvest at least 1 vial (more please!? XD lol), dip some daggers and bolt tips. She'd be more than willing to offer any weapon dipping to other players as well.)

How does a red dragon blow out the candles on its birthday cake?
With the actions calming down, so too did Adray. He was beaten, he was sore but mostly he was confused. His abilities, his ki, worked differently. This was new, more beastial and... something he was now stuck with. He would need to exert more control, he thought. As he collected his thoughts he felt a nudge against him and a warmth of healing flow into him. It shook from his thought and he looked up to see Mooncolor. "Thanks. Glad to see you can really hold your own out there. This thing tends to happen with us and i cant see that ending."
With a little sigh, move up. "Another battle hard fought, and another battle won. No, much from me but you all covered my arse today." He turns to Chior, "Though next time I'll remember to cover my hears when Akadi's fury gets unleashed." He give a joking smile.

Mooncolor graciously lowered his head in "you are welcome" motion. He seemed to overcome his instinctive resentment toward those touched by the forces opposite to his nature - Polly and Adray. "I could not allow those creatures to harm you and very glad I could help at least somewhat," his telepathic speeches were short but polite.
Meanwhile Fran was collecting the disgusting substance - very carefully and very thorough. The liquid is not that scarce - enough demons die in Avernus that their ichor forms pools and even small lakes - but it's difficult enough to handle, quite poisonous on contact and used in rituals and to improve the performance of infernal war machines often enough to be desired. "Home delivery" of the stuff could prove to be very useful. Fran definitely heed Maggie's crew warnings and managed to collect enough of the substance without any mishap. Demon ichor is sticky enough to adhere to most weapons, but blood washes it away quite effectively - one wound and it's gone. Careful coating of the weapons (and rearranging to not accidentally touch the blades herself) took some time, but result was promising - daggers, bolts and some stock for the future coating or dangerous but sometimes necessary altering of Tormentor.
The celebration (and ichor collection) was interrupted by the return of Bazelsteen, looking invigorated by the fight and bursting with energy. (Owimp did warn about the end of the battle but was in too much of emotional turmoil to give a second warning) The devil landed, threw fresh coal into his mouth and checked the deck over. "Got yourself a demon here? Sneaky bastards! Good thing you fought it off. Now, I see you, I see the remains of the demon but what I do not see is my diving bell. How did you two get in here?" He stared at Polly and Fran intently. "Did you drown the bathysphere?"
“Drown your...” Polly starts, inquisitively. “No! Well... no! We teleported out to join the battle but it was in perfect shape when we did and we saw nothing touch it during... Haul it up with the crane, we’d already captured the rods and some souls for you before we’d left.”
Polly’s confidence wavered a bit near the end. What she said was true, as far as it went. But two were sent over the side of the ship during the battle. She thought them dead but... if they could swim...
“Haul it up. Quickly. It was fine,” Polly repeated urgently, “but if things can indeed swim in these waters then this all could have been a diversion. Haul it up!”
Bazelsteen cast an irritated look at Polly but rushed to the controls and carefully pulled the bathysphere back onto the barge. He let the water of Styx to drip down before approaching the contraption, then threw a bit of flame, drying up the containers with the souls. Once both were dry, he disconnected them and weighted in the hand. "Not bad, ladies" The devil inspected one semitransparent container a bit sloser: "Oh, that one would make a good lemure... May be even better if he behaves." He looked at group approvingly. "Well done, here is your coin." He gave Polly a soul coin (that, by the way, did not bother her - the scream of a locked in soul sounded more funny than depressing. Adray realized, the two coins he still kept did not bother him either) and pointed at the bag, still gripped in the "fist" of the "hand" protruding from the bathysphere. The hand, the chain and the bathysphere itself had clear fresh claw marks on them, it looked as if some creatures - you could guess which exactly - were trying to destroy the machine. Fortunately, the bag was just clawed a bit, the demons cared more about the diving bell.
"Guess this is your bag - you got lucky. Would not touch it while it's wet, if I were you. Well, pleasure doing business with you. Need a job at some point - remember us, might use some hands here. Your barge is on the other side." Bazelsteen signalled his two heplers and rusty platform moved back to the docks. You could return to Bel now.
Fran could only shrug and gesture to Polly as she had already started the explanation when Bazelsteen would ask. She and Owis were making the calls and insistent on using her new teleportation magic. The artificer was just along for the ride. She had been curious how the contraption would have held up, but all in all, things worked out for the best and they completed the task they set out to do. Job done.
With a nod, the redhead would find her trusty gripper/reachy tool and use it to accept and handle the bag until it dries. When all would fall awkwardly silent, "KABOOM!" Fran would shake the bag a little and make a grand gesture with her free hand. She'd smirk before snorting and starting to cackle quietly to herself as she'd saunter away to start their trek to Bel. Even if the gag was only funny to her, Fran was contently amused.
Polly flips the soul coin in one hand a couple of times before carefully tucking it away. “Sphere still tip top? We could do another run...” Polly looks to Fran to see if she’d be interested.
Yes, Polly knew she should be unsettled by the idea of soul coins. Yes, far as she knew, every soul so contained did something that earned their way here. “It’s not like they’ll be earning redemption if we don’t collect them...”
Choir is tempted to see if Control Water can wring all the wetness out of the bag, but it seems like a reckless use of divine power. She sighs and tries to be patient.
