Ever cautious group carefully moves through the Bane's door. The corridor, lightened, though brightly, only by Choir's shield, over-shining much softer lantern in Adray's hands, began to descend again. One stair case, declining, another one - and the party comes to oh-so-familiar muddy stinky water. About 10 feet ahead is the wall but you can see, the corridor turns right.
Now, if party wants to proceed - open "spoilers". If not - turn back without looking. Here is a hidden temptation for you:
Roll initiative! :)
The corridor turns and opens up into the big room. The eastern part of this room is unlit, flooded, and braced with floor-to-ceiling wooden beams. Rough-hewn steps rise out of the murky water to the western portion of the room, which is dry and lit by two torches in sconces that flank a stone altar. Shackled to the wall behind the altar is a sickly man in a loincloth with a burlap sack over his head. An alcove in the north wall contains a free standing suit of plate armour missing its helm.
Standing before the altar are two grim figures: a powerfully built woman clutching a mace, and an even bigger man wearing a bucket helm. The helmed man is jabbing the prisoner with a spear, causing him to twitch. Both figures are clad in chain mail, and the woman carries a wooden shield with a leering skull painted on it.
Seeing the light coming from around the corner, Adray will signal the group and proceed carefully. He hated the fact that water was pooling about, it meant he couldnt put the lantern down without it getting wet and useless. Weighing the options he decided to pass it back to be left on solid ground. Hed rather have his hands more free and would rely on Choir's shield light.

Choir doesn't want to put her shield down to load her crossbow, so will advance toward the evildoers, but carefully in case of pits in the floor. She thinks she probably ought to trade the crossbow in for some javelins.

Polly, who once again had to swim through the shallow water, cursed the day she decided to travel to Elturel. It has brought her nothing but trouble.

Adray and Ordreg turned around the corner and stepped into the room to witness the torturing of - as it was easy to guess - another cultist victim. And to finally meat the cultist inside the dungeon.
The man was too busy pocking the prisoner with his spear, laughing at particular comical twitches of prisoner's body but the woman turned to the newcomers with a sharp look of ever-ready soldier on her face. Adray apparently had the right idea and robes of the fallen assassins could come handy (mended by Polly), because woman, that begun to say something along the line "who the hell are you" dropped it in the middle of the phrase and instead you heard much less conversational "Yignath, intruders!". While shouting she was reading her bow, and "Yignath" turned with his spear in hand ready to attack.

Ordrag was already looking for the first opportunity to escape the dark water-logged corridor, and seeing the cultists ahead gave him even more incentive. He lunged forward, striding as rapidly as possible through the water, to reach the dry area and attack the nearest cultist.
Move: through the water toward the altar. If he can't get that far, he will use Action Surge to Dash, which should be enough to get there. Then Attack action and Bonus Action attack against whichever cultist he would reach first.

Adray sees the cultist torturing the fellow and cant help but spring into action. He takes a deep breath and focuses his internal energy clearing his mind and body. Taking a less rugged stance he cuts through the water with his movement, hardly slowing. He turns surprised that Nibs is powering through it with sheer strength maintaining the same speed.
Turning back he sees the women. Her hands already going to her bow to fire. Having finally met solid ground, Adray leads into the air and jabs at her with a downward angle with a two handed thrust.
Move: move toward W
Bonus action: step of the wind for one ki point (dash)
Adray missed. But he managed to force the woman to drop her bow (the girls were safe for the time being) and reach for the mace and shield. And she attacked adding all her weight to the blow: Attack: 22 Damage: 7
At the same time Nibs tested his scimitar against Yignath's armour and Deadeye's weapon won! Short sword did not miss either but the man only growled. When bolt of fire sent by Polly hit him on the other side, the man roared: "Attack them!!!" - and the woman obediently raised her mace again, targeting Adray once more: Attack: 9 Damage: 6 though even wounded, Adray managed to dodge the attack.
Fran will load her crossbow and advance through the water. She will take a position around the columns, a little ways behind Adray. She’d provide cover for their Cleric to get into place. Once Choir had her position, Fran would release her shot.
Positioning went fine - both cultist were too preoccupied with their immediate targets - but bolt missed either target ans got lost behind the altar. As if in response to the attack, the man called Yignath tried to pin Ordrag to the floor with his spear: Attack: 19 Damage: 5
The strike was not deadly - the spear did not run though the body - but painful enough. With disappointed grunt Yignath pulled the spear back.
Taking a side step from the blow, Adray dug his foot into the ground he twirled the spear around in a dazzling display and then struck out with his spear in a downward slash and then keeping the momentum spun and lashed out with his foot.
Action: Two handed spear attack: Attack: 17 Damage: 11
Now that she's out of the water, Choir is ready to rumble! She charges Yignath and swings at him with her warhammer. Not only is he nasty, but...Choir has decided she wants his spear.
Attack: 12 Damage 10
(OOC: Unless he is down by the time her turn rolls around, in which case she will go for the woman.)

Neither of your opponents is down, but by RAW Choir can not charge in the occupied space - right now cultists are blocked by by Ordrag and Adray. Choir can change her move.
Whoever that woman was - she knew how to fight. The shield in her hands with a skull on it painted in fresh blood moved faster than sword in some hands - she blocked both Adray's blows, while Yignath shrugged off Polly's fire bolt seemingly unaffected.
But it looks like Ordrag found the weak point in cultist's armour and another series of deadly steel barrage made him flinch with the pain "you are dead, intruder, dead!"
As if answering her cry, the woman used her mace again: Attack: 13 Damage: 6

(OOC: Whoops! Okay, I will change it. BTW, I noticed one of Choir's spell slots was clicked, but as far as I remember, she hasn't cast anything but Light so far, and that is a cantrip, so I unclicked it. If i forgot something let me know and I will re-click it. She's saving her spell slots till she needs them, since we have no idea how big this place is.)
Unable to reach the villains, Choir drops the glowing shield and fires a crossbow bolt at Yignath between her allies. Attack: 17 Damage 6
