"Strictly speaking, we have nothing to arrest him for - or we would be marching to the Vanthampur's villa already. Make him talk, make him cooperate any way you can, but keep in mind, he is the son of the ruling Duke of the town. He is a blight of the city - as much as his mother, but they both are the legal blight. Act accordingly."
"Obviously, you are allowed self-defence. But I would love to get something to show for that defending."
Adray gives the Captain a salute. "Yes, Sir," he says. Turning to the others he says, "Tonight we go to the bar and I'd like us to follow three rules." He then begins to pace back and forth in front the other members of the party. He holds up one finger, "One, never underestimate your opponent; expect the unexpected. Two, take it outside. Never start anything in the bar unless it is absolutely necessary. Three... be nice. If someone gets in your face and calls you a ... I want you to be nice. Ask him to walk, be nice. If he won't walk, walk him, but be nice. If you can't walk him, one of the others will help you, and you will both be nice...I want you to remember, that it's a job, it's nothing personal. I want you to be nice... until it's time to not be nice."
Polly stand in the background and listening to the conversation. When the captain finishes she pipe up from bellow. “Captain, I have been studying some new spells and need to get some components for them. Is there anywhere I can get ahold of that for fair price?”
Somewhere Owis is scurrying around and curiously looking for something mischievous to do, like rearrange some books or pooping in a corner.
Captain nodded to Adray's drill "Good rules. Now, if there are no more questions, run along and follow"."As of the components - talk to the mages. We do not ask where they get their ... components, but usually they have them or can point to someone who does. And I would strongly suggest to keep your familiar to yourself - some mages have nasty beasts for friends here."
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
”Thank you captain.” Polly looks over at Owis and giggles. “Owis behave!” And the familiar runs over to her and climb up on her shoulder.
After the meeting Polly ask Adrey if there is anywhere there will be a team meeting or if they are free to do as they like until morning.
When there is time she will head to the mages and ask for components for her new spells (invisibility and read thoughts) as well as to restock her component pouch. Then she will go and study the spellbooks for a while in the library if there is any and look for information on imps and thous who summon such creatures.
Choir will also pester the mages when Polly goes...she needs some powdered silver. About 50gp worth. (If she gets it discounted, she will still spend the 50gp and just get more.)

It is kind of morning still - barely past afternoon. Do you mean to wait until tomorrow evening to visit the Low Lantern? You can get your long rest now and still make it there today. But you have to use it to rest, not to wonder around.
Study of Imps would prove one thing - too many variables. Imps can be summoned, or granted, or set as observers, or many other possibilities. The only constant here is the fact, that an imp will proudly serve an evil master of any kind. Hard to tell what you are dealing with in case of Thurstwell.
Choir will get her long rest in immediately, and let others decide the timetable.
"Wake me up when it's time to rumble," she says in the voice of a temple acolyte.

“Aye I got some tinkering ta do before we head out. Imma go get some shut eye teh freshen up and get teh building. Come fetch me and Choir when you’re all ready.” And with a nod, Fran will take her leave.
"Alright, I guess we break. Lets meet in the mess hall say 8:30 ish. We'll grab some quick grub and we can discuss specifics on the way," he says to the group. With that he will go and grab a long rest and be ready and in the mess hall around when described. If no cooks have made meals that late he'll grab something quick for all them, hard bread, meat and some cheese or the likes.
Polly meet Adrey at the table just before the announced time with a great yawn. “I really ought to sleep more.. but I did do some research on imps and their masters.” She looks at the food on the table, summons a spectral hand and send it around to get a little of everything. “Unfortunately” she continue “I didn’t learn much. Imps can be summoned, or granted, or set as observers, or many other possibilities. The only constant here is the fact, that an imp will proudly serve an evil master of any kind.”
while Polly speaks, Owis jumps the table and start munching from Pollys plate.
After Ordrag has a good sleep to recover from his practice fight, he joins the others in the mess hall. To whomever is present, Ordrag says:
Eh, me just remembered, me been to this Low Lantern once, few years ago. It's a tavern inside an old galleon on the docks. Rough place it was, and some hands got in some strife, so cap'n said not to go again or us'd go in the brig.

Choir comes to the table looking eager to go, and chows down on mess hall stew. Akadi has heard her prayers, and given Choir the power to cast twice as many spells as on their last adventure. And she's learned some new, more powerful spells. And she's got a bottle full of shiny, beautiful, expensive silver dust and is fighting the temptation to pour some out and play with it. And tonight she is going to the casino and look for some sparkly dice. And unleash the thunder on some more bad people, probably.

As soon as Fran returned to her bunk, she’d start to pull out materials and begin sketching out plans. She’d scrap materials, lay out parts and begin tinkering away well into the evening. To her surprise, she was able to focus intently on the project and finish it in time for her to get a good nights rest.
A quick sharp whistle could be hear just outside the mess hall, followed by some scuffling and metal clinking?
”Wouf wouf!” A metal construct of about medium size comes bounding into the mess hall, straight towards the group table, heading for Ordrag.
”Brutus!” Fran would round the corner. “Heel!”
The construct that resembles a St Bernard stops just short of pouncing Ordrag, tail wagging with excitement, clanking on the ground from side to side. “Ruff!” The steel defender would turn on its heels and head over to walk with Fran, calmly this time, to the table. The artificer would scratch the back of her head before waving. “Mornin’!”
Owis hiss at the metallic dog and jumps up on Pollys shoulder. “Goodie morning to you too Fran!” She looks down at the mechanical thing “who and what is this?” She ask curiously.
Polly meant to say "Good evening" for the evening it was. //Fran was incredibly fast in construction of her monstrosity new friend// While girls were discussing the shiny new addition to the team, everyone was mentally preparing to the task ahead - a visit to yet another "safe heaven" of the city - Low Lantern. As Ordrag said, it was a ship, an ex-ship, sort of. You could actually see that aging, three-masted ship across the bay, but Seatower did not have any kind of docks (security!) and you would have to go all the way around - at least an extra hour of walking.
You left Seatower at the dusk and made your way through the still very active streets of Baldur's Gate to the harbour side of Brampton. Fog obscured the Low Lantern until you got within a hundred feet of it, whereupon its tall masts and creaking bulk came into view. The converted ship has rigging but no sails, and is anchored to the wharf by thick chains. A wooden staircase climbs from the wharf's edge to the main deck. A lantern at the bow casts an eerie green light to signify that the tavern is open for business.
You can see people going inside, all sorts - from a downright pirates with the look practically screaming "bandit" up to your fallow guardsman (not in uniform, but a guard is a guard even without his badge).
The main deck of the old ship features wooden steps that climb to the forecastle and aftcastle, and another set of stairs descending into the ship. A padlocked wooden hatch fitted with windows acts as a skylight for the deck below- the tavern proper, visible through the hatch's glass panes. Four dead seagulls lie on the deck and two ravens squawk at you from the crow's nest, a forty-foot climb up the ship's rigging.
Ordrag ascends the gangplank with a spring in his step, obviously excited to be boarding a ship, even if it isn't exactly a real one. He walks around the deck a little bit, more out of habit than curiosity, his eyes wandering to the rigging. Once all the others have come aboard, Ordrag leads the way below decks.

If there is time after pollys research, she too will take a long rest
If she does not - she would not get long rest and restored spell slots :) We can keep research on imps brief.
