Celtra watched the stone decoration fall and crush the dinosaur. She cringed internally at the strong creatures death, she had not intended to kill it but things were calming down now that the attacking dinosaur died. Scanning the others she calls down, "You all good down there?"
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Fulcra does a half run out from his place of cover into the street as if he wasn't hiding, making a show of dusting himself as if he'd just had a close brush with death. He gives Celtra a thumbs up, "Oh ya, hey. Good job. I mean, sure, right place, right time, handy chunk of rock! Great stuff. I mean, gravity really, you know..did most of the work, but you did your part, little nudge here. Did you break a nail or anything? No? Good, good. Whew....good times, good times." He turns his back to the woman and says to Taman, "How is this city still here? This place is nuts."
Fulcra looks around, his face somewhat serious, his eyes scanning the street and crowds. He eventually walks over to Cimeri, while still scanning the crowds. Not really looking at her he grabs her by both shoulders, "Great stuff you. Really brave. Glad you came through unscathed. Look, I'm going to find Vil, but, maybe you go meet this helpful boulder pusher lady with Taman and see if she's a guide or maybe you know, wants to wander into the jungle full of undead for fun. I'll see you back at the Inn this afternoon."
He wanders off in search of Vil and the hadrosaur. He spends a few hours searching, after which he returns to the Inn. Regardless of if he finds Vil, his next goal is to narrow down their guide options. To the group, he proposes that unless they get another lead, they head down the river to camp Righteous, then maybe camp Vengeance, and onto Mbala, since, that seems like a route with lots of...stuff...on the map. (shrug). He proposes they interview the seven different guide options one more time each. To each one, without showing them the map, he asks the safest and quickest way to get to Camp Righteous, and if they know of anything interesting in that area or further down river. Finally, to each, he suggests they ask, "Have you ever been lost in the jungle, and how did you find your way back?"
Based on the answers, he suggests they pick one. They'll try to use insight on each one during their answers to see if they're lying.
Cimeri, half expected a lecture about her reckless behaviour, was quite relieved to hear the opposite. It was a nice feeling - to be taken seriously. She promised herself, she will prove her worth and turned to the woman above: "We are good. Would you come down? Those people might want to thank you."She still wanted to get to the wall, but had to check on the riders first herself too (and to look at the dinosaurs once more. Well, who would not?)
Looking down from the overpass to those below, Celtra will take a step back and then jump down using the deceased dinosaur to break her fall.
She puts a hand on the creature and closes her eyes a moment. Getting up she pats off the dust and readjust her armor. "Horrible way to go, but people need savin. Well always people need savin here."
"Are you from around here?"Tiefling tilted her head studying newcomer. "We are not - our group, I mean" she gestured towards the leaving man and half-elf, "but even to us it looks like people of that city is indeed in a constant danger."
Finally she remembered some manners: "I am Cimeri, pleased to meet you and thank you for your help."
It's a short walk (made longer by the crowds) to the walls near Malar's Throat, where the attack occurred. Now that the race chaos has died down somewhat, it's clear that the city guards handle these undead attacks with cold efficiency. The soldiers on the walls move without panic now, their sergeants taking them through practiced execution of drills for just such an event.
You reach an out-of-the-way crenellation where you're unharassed by the soldiers and peer out at the settlement that has grown up on both sides of the canyon (Malar's Throat) created by two of the hills upon which the city rests; whereas before was a scene of chaos, it's now a scene of tragedy. Folk begin to ascend from the rope bridges strung across the canyon where they'd taken shelter, along with streams of people leaving the Temple of Tymora, a blocky, fortress-like temple situated just for these occasions. People search for loved ones they've been separated from. People check on their livestock and their homes and pets, some of which have been utterly destroyed. Tell-tale smears of blood run along walls and streets, where the living have been dragged away by the undead. In the distance, at the far end of the chasm, squads of soldiers pursue and chase off the faster undead while others clean up the slower skeletons and zombies that stagger about aimlessly without leaders.
[Awesome dialogue! Fulcra has mentioned his plans which will likely take most of the day. (OOC: Fulcra will only search for Vil for the afternoon before heading back to the Inn to start the guide interview questions. He is confused by the sudden disappearance of his friend, and concerned, but Vil left in no danger, he must have a reason for having abandoned Fulcra for the time being.)

(Cimeri would trust Fulcra on questioning guides and choosing one (though Faroul and Gondolo, and Albino dwarf would not be her first choice no matter what, and I don't believe we've met River Mist and Flask of Wine, so, hard to judge). Depending how the talk with Celtra goes, Cimei - alone or with Celtra - would like to meet Somber Chord, then return to the Thundering Lizard, with Taman, I guess?)
Taman would definitely be part of the talking with the guides. He would be looking for someone who seems to care about the jungle and who seems likely to be honest and good-hearted. He would cast guidance as often as necessary to help vet the guides.
Celtra looks at Cimeri, her arm resting on the pommel of her sword. "Me from here?" She looks around and frowns, "No, I'm not from around here." She makes a slight bow and says, "Names Celtra, came over on a trading vessel and now I'm at least stuck here until I can get enough coin to buy passage not here." She looks up at her expectantly and says, "You got work?"
"I..."Cimeri was not sure how to explain. And whether she even should explain anything... Celtra was not a guide, as Fulcra hoped, should she ask others first? She looked around in search of Taman, but he was half the way to the wall. Still, newfound self-reliance made her to try anyway - they need more people, not only guides. "We are going to the Jungle. An expedition to find a magical artifact. We knew the jungles are dangerous, but now it looks like it is even more threatening, so, we do need more people it sims. Though... It might be not just dangerous but deadly."She wanted Celtra to understand it very clearly - there might be no way back. "We are doing it for personal reasons, but there are people who help us and will pay too. Before you decide - may be you can come with me? I will introduce you to others, you will see what it is all about and talk about payment?"She tilted her head again. "Or you can come to the Thundering Lizard this evening, we will be there."
(What Celtra sees in front of her is a very young tiefling girl (around 16 may be?) not even remotely a leader of the expedition. So, hesitation should not come as a surprise)
Celtra looks down at this young girl and marvels at what kind of people would send a teen into somewhere so dangerous. Then he recalls the fearlessness of her trying to climb dinosaur and rethinks her stereotypes. "Agreed, I shall follow you to your parents and we can discuss this further."
When Fulcra returns to the Inn to find Celtra and Cimeri together he seems his troubled mood is not entirely gone. He sits down with the two. "Hey there. My name is Fulcra. I'm a poor traveler from back east. Would luck have it you're a famed and wise guide who can take us through the jungle?" He looks only mildly crestfallen when she says no. "Well, you did quite a good job pushing that rock early today. Those rock pushing skills are just the sort our expedition could use! If you think you'd enjoying pushing rocks, and I suppose you could push other things as well, out in the jungle with us while we do nothing less than SAVE THE WORLD together, then I encourage you to come! We can't pay. We have no money. But, if we succeed, there will be glory, they'll make plays about you, and you'll get royalties that will keep you comfortable the rest of your life. At least, that's one possibility. A distant possibility maybe. Ok, quite distant. Like, so distant that we're wondering if Lenny up in the crowsnest can see it....but old Lenny is a drunk and passed out again, even though it's barely past noon, so, we're not sure exactly how distant is my point." He shrugs. "Either way, we need to find a good guide so that we don't die within 5 minutes of entering the jungle. We have a lead on a number that we're going to interview this evening. Waddya say? Come with?"

Cimeri shifted uncomfortably and blushed, not sure how Celtra would react and feeling somewhat responsible for the situation. "This is Fulcra," repeated she his introduction, "he can talk strange sometimes, but he means well." "And I am sure Lady Silvane promised payment to those, who joins expedition. We - us - also paying for supplies, you don't have to worry about that."She looked at Celtra's reaction - Cimeri did not want her first almost-found-helper to run away instantly.
(OOC: before Celtra and Cimeri returned to the Thundering Lizard, Cimeri will try to look around for Somber Chord. Not spending too much time, after all, Somber Chord already got her money and Cimeri did not really exacted to see that gold coin again)
Taman would return to the Thundering Lizard, after checking on the wall. "Good work on the bridge." He tells the new person sitting with his companions. He takes a seat and glances around briefly. "I am to meet up with an elder of a sister church to my own tomorrow at noon." He confides to the group. "From there I hope to learn more of what is going on and, hopefully, get some idea of where to go next." He gives a sigh. "I would like to be around to help with interviewing guides, but please go forward without me if I am gone to the elder's temple at some point in that process."
Fulcra to Taman, "An elder sister eh?" He winks, giving him a little nudge. Upon receiving a flat stare in return, Fulcra clears his throat. "Right, well, yes, you should definitely be here for interviews." Fulcra spends his time trying to find the various guides they've found (or new ones), and to have them come to the Thundering Lizard for an interview.

In the meantime Celtra listened to Fulcra and Cimeri tell the tale of how they ended up there. She patiently listened and after it all simply placed her hands upon the table and looked at Cimeri in the eyes and says, "And you did all this without approval of your parents and/or legal guardian?" She clicks her tongue a few times and then remains silent while thinking of the overall danger and plight of the group.
"I never knew my parents. And the only man I could call a father - Master Ziman - died recently." Cimeri was calm and composed - so many things had happened recently, that even though it's being barely two weeks since Master Ziman's death and pain was still fresh, she could keep herself busy, not thinking about it too much, or crying. "This is the reason I am in this expedition. I took an oath to find the cause of the Death Curse and rid the world of it. Taman was a friend of Master Ziman, that curse hurt him too. Fulcra and Vilvandor joined us lately for their reasons, but we are all going for that deadly thing, causing so much pain."
She took a breath and firmly finished: "I was well trained and already proved I can face danger. I do not need someone to guard me."As an end point of the discussion, she changed the subject, asking Fulcra a long overdue question: "Did you happened to find Vilvandor? He left so sudden, I hope he is fine."
