A little disappointed there's nothing of substantial value, Ziradius brushes off the emotion. "Wow, that's quite the supply." Then, looking up to the front to who's driving, he will ask, "How much farther should it be?"

Garr looks at the mining equipment again. "I hope he doesn't intend us to mine." He then looks at Ziradius and wants to answer but simply doesn't know, instead looking out the front of the cart.
Auspex peeks out from under his hat, dislodging Cayce, who flits above his head before resettling. "I am here because I am supposed to be here." Auspex smirks at Garr, "Do not worry, human. A dwarf would never ask any human, half-elf, half-orc, or tiefling to mine for him. A gnome, maybe, but I doubt that is what our future holds."
Garr ponders for a moment, staring blankly at Cayce. "I don't know much about Gnomes, but you seem very interesting." He looks over towards Darrell and Karleck, eyeing the shield from earlier. "That shield has a nice symbol on it. What does it mean?"
Karleck will hold it up for him to see, “Its the symbol of the goddess Sehanine Moonbow, found it in an old abandoned shrine of hers the night she chose me as a champion. Still not sure what it was doing in that sewer, though my brother says it may have been there before the city.”
Garr, Ziradius and Auspex -- you see at the back of the cart a small black spider. Despite its small appearance, and none of you provoking it, it begins to charge towards Garr with its fangs out!
Everyone in the back of the cart please roll initiative :)
You swing your dagger at the spider but the cart passes over a rather large stone, and the jostle of the cart is enough to disrupt your attack and the blade misses.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Cayce flits near the spider, screeching in it's face before winging back up to the air space above Auspex head (help). Auspex uses the distraction and fires a fire bolt at the spider.
With a deft hand and a quick incantation, you release a small bolt of fire at the spider and incinerate it, killing it instantly (That that high enough attack roll I'll say it didn't catch the wagon on fire)
You all have been on the trail for about a day and a half, and as the cart pulls around the bend, Darrel and Karleck notice two dead horses sprawled on the ground about fifty feet ahead, blocking the path. Each have several black-feathered arrows sticking out of them. The woods press close to the trail here, with a steep embarkment and dense thickets on either side.

<Start of (mini) combat>
Initiative:
The spider is maybe 2.5 inches in diameter, slightly larger than most.
I will slice down with my dagger, trying to cut it with the tip so as to not get any blood on me:
Attack: 10 Damage: Unable to parse dice roll.
Damage 6
You swing your dagger at the spider but the cart passes over a rather large stone, and the jostle of the cart is enough to disrupt your attack and the blade misses.
Cayce flits near the spider, screeching in it's face before winging back up to the air space above Auspex head (help). Auspex uses the distraction and fires a fire bolt at the spider.
Attack: 23 Damage: 1
With a deft hand and a quick incantation, you release a small bolt of fire at the spider and incinerate it, killing it instantly (That that high enough attack roll I'll say it didn't catch the wagon on fire)
<End of combat>
"Spider out of nowhere... huh." Did Garr notice anything about the spider before it was killed? like was it weird or different in any way or anything?
Make an Intelligence check, Garr
Intelligence - 18
It was larger than other spiders of the same kind that you've seen, but otherwise just an angry spider as far as you know.
