At 3rd level, you master the art of the ambush. You can give yourself a bonus to your initiative rolls equal to your Wisdom modifier.
At the start of your first turn of each combat, your walking speed increases by 10 feet, which lasts until the end of that turn. If you take the Attack action on that turn, you can make one additional weapon attack as part of that action. If that attack hits, the target takes an extra 1d8 damage of the weapon’s damage type.
first one (1d8 +4) is the regular attack,
the second one is the additional attack with the extra 1d8damage (thats why 2d8) and because i crit with the inspiration, i added another 2d8.

UPon seeing the serpent, Raynor cast his magic upon his sight, seeing necromancy magic aura around the creature before he ducks behind his teammates.
Onyx let two shots, the first strike the bonely serpent. The second shot seem to narrowly miss the serpent before a gust of wind or maybe fate alters the arrow and striking the serpent between joints for significant more damage then his first shot.
Gotch holds the crossbolt in his tiny hand as he lines up and fires a bolt, striking the serpent flush before diving behind the closest pile of debris.

Wis Save: 12, if you failed, Onyx is cursed and have disadvantage on attack rolls.

This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Going with Gotch being 60 feet from the creature... He positions the below affect half-way between him and the creature.
Gotch casts fog cloud at second level. It creates a 40 foot radius area of fog. The way this works is that no one can have advantage or disadvantage while in the fog. Any checks that require sight auto fail. No attacks of opportunity happen inside the fog area. Everyone still knows where everyone else is though, since, in 5e, you are not hidden by just being unseen, you can still be heard. So all attacks are straight up, no matter what effect is giving you disadvantage or advantage since they are canceled out.
Gotch then uses his bonus action to hide, which makes him unseen and unheard.
Stealth: 21
From this point on the creature needs to have a higher passive perception than Gotch's stealth to even be able to target him by sound in the fog. The creature can take its action to do a perception check to find him, but that will take the creature's action to do.
All this is assuming the creature doesn't have some other sense that lets him see, such as blindsight or tremorsense...
Once hidden Gotch moves, using his stealth check above, to a different position, not wanting to be where the creature saw him last.
Gotch throws up a Fog Cloud in the midway point of the party and the skeleton serpent, engulfed all of the fighters on the edge of a dense fog. WHile the pillar of the artifat gives the area a glow, it's still hard to see for everyone within the cloud. MEanwhile Gotch moves to find cover in the fog cloud.
Other hand issue, spells that requires you to see the target has been negated as you're blinded while in the cloud.
