"Meepo has another..." Meepo says with a nod of his head. "Rat come..." He calls out and, suddenly, a tressym appears near Meepo. The tressym looks like:
But this one is dead, ,very dead. It is covered with decay and rot, and smells like both.
"Rat." Meepo says proudly. "Sorry, he smells little." Meepo says as he wrinkles up his nose. He gives a shrug. "Rat big help."
As the day turns to night, patrons start to leave, others start to gather. The torutle on the piano slows the tempo of the songs. The feeling is more somber now. The Torch Bearers start to dwindle in after their required night of lighting all the posts in Little Jasper. The life of a drafter is tied to the light of the world. The Torch Bearer, though an easy job, is a crucial one for the never sleeping city of Little Jasper. The events of the day have left you all emotionally drained. Some people start to talk around you and any of you with a passive perception of 12 or higher will start to notice that the task given to you by the pensive ins't like the others Some of you have gotten tasks before as well. Mostly the tasks include a simple ingredient fect mission, or a small bounty on a local thug, or even contracted labor, but the task of doing something to a oddly beautiful girl all the way in Blood Forest is weird. Why you?
While waiting/hoping to hear responses from other adventurers in the tavern who want to help and haven't made their way to the group yet, Kouss begins to mutter under his breath and wanders a few paces away staring at the wall directly in front of him.
Yes yes yes... Kouss understands... The other has a good plan... Help powerful beings... Beings become allies... Through adventure Kouss will learn more of the great evil and Kouss' powerful allies will see the truth and urgency of the matter... Kouss will make the other proud...
The paper yearns for the help of Meepo the mighty wizard. Meepo with the stealth and cunning of thousand and thousand years of draconian evolution, pinches the lose paper and with a florish spins on his heal. The parchment is safe and won't fall to ruin. The gods of order and balance truly are shining on you Meepo. Now you may want to clean up the mess your zombie bat cat thing made that distracted the halfling in the first place.
Phil would order the catch of the day.. Eating it raw and chasing it with a tankard of ale. "So I promised a goblin I would collect some items for him.. but I wasn't told what to collect so I suppose I will tag along with you all until I get the signal" The locathah would say with a grin. As phil spoke, his throat would become dry and his breathing labored. Quickly the artificer would tap a small device resting above his gills on the sides of his head. As he does a sphere of water would quickly materialize around the locathah's head. As it does, Phil's breathing would return to normal and his face would visibly relax. Looking to Meepo and Kouss, phil would speak through the bubble of water. "Where are we headed then? Are we leaving first thing in the morning?" He would ask with a smile as bubbles escape his mouth and rise to the top of the watery sphere.
The gnome had sat near the boisterous group listening in easily. What a strange job the pensive had given them. Maybe They had messed up, and his assignment had been given to the wrong group. He’d never heard of that happening, but still...
He nearly jumped out of his chair, his hand instinctively reaching for the hand crossbow at his side, as the little draconian creature let out a mighty roar. Fortunately he wasn’t the only one to share that reaction, or he might have drawn t9 much attention to himself. He would feel a lot more comfortable when the design in his head was hanging a tone his side in the crossbow’s place. One job should be enough to do it.
When the Iocathah joined up, he’d made his decision. Someone with those kind of skills could be very useful to know in his line of work, not to mention an aid in turning his dreams into reality.
He waited til the tavern started to slow down, then the gnome pulled his cap low, slipped over to the lizard man calling for aid, and he said, “Listen, I don’t know anything about the end of the world...but if you’re in need of a good shot, I’m your best pick.”
Kren shakes his head. "Well if we're all going then I need to go run a few errands before first light." Kren will rise to his full height and stretch. If anyone tries to follow he will promptly say "Alone".
He'll then wander out into the streets of little Jasper
Marril didn’t bother to stop him as she had plenty to hide herself, she turned back to the group and attempted to change the conversation focus “so, we spent the night here and head out in the morning I think”

Seeing the party seemed to have agreed to meet tomorrow, Coryn jumps off his seat with a clank, and walks over to the barkeep. “Excuse me, but would you happen to have rooms available here? I’m looking for a place to spend the night and this seems like a good enough place to stay.”
"Here I suppose" Phil would reply to Meepo as the water surrounding his head recedes back into the small box positioned above his gills. "Perhaps we could split a room" He would add before making his way to the bar and holding up a webbed hand. "Excuse me.. I'd like a room as well of you dont mind " He would say with a nod to the innkeeper.
"Meepo good." Meepo tells his fish friend. "meet here morning..." With that he heads out, seeking a place to burrow into and sleep in an alley close by.
Aiden just nods as it appears the party has a good beginning for whatever this was to become, he just stands up and stretches "I'm going to get a room for the night then. I'll see you all in the morning, have a good night everyone."
He just walks over to Ma and smiles "How much for a room?" he asks preparing to pull out the necessary amount to get a good nights rest.
Ma tells each of you in a somber tone, "It has been a very harrowing day, 1 silver a bed and I'll give you breakfast in the morning and pack you a lunch for the road."
Ma casts mage hand and picks your feet off her table. "Now dearest, if you were my child I would beat you like a red headed goblin for doing that in my house."
Coryn nods to signify his acceptance of the price, pays the silver, and then turns back to the table. “Well, I bid you all a good night, and may Pelor’s light shine on you in the morning.”
He’ll go to the room provided, but before he goes to sleep, he’ll cast light on a coin he holds until he falls asleep.

Seeing the paper, Meepo grabs it before it can become lost...
