Kouss hears the Mako's reply and turns his head to face it full on.
Kouss will know of this master... What is GAH!!!...
His words are cut short as the locathah brutally turns the shark's face into Swiss cheese in a lumen-fueled frenzy. Wiping the gore from his face with his good hand, Kouss grimaces and turns to Phil.
Ugh... Reds...
...and walks away to inspect the fallen bodies.
Getting hit so much and so hard was not enjoyable at all. Kouss wants to be better equipped if another battle should erupt. Having seen such violence only in hunting and individual confrontation, this battle was an entirely new experience for him. Seeing the tough, abrasive hide of these shark people, Kouss would like to see if these qualities might lend themselves to making better than average protectives. He begins to pull as many shark teeth as he can salvage and skin the remaining Mako with an obsidian dagger he pulls from a sheath.
(Meta: Kouss' natural armor gives him better AC than anything he could wear short of magical armor. Looking at the Mako stats that you posted, I'm wondering if a Mako hide shield might grant resistance to cold damage!)
Kren gives a stoic nod off thank you. "Well, I am not sleeping tonight. I'll stay up and sleep in the morning." He'll begin climbing to the crows nest.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Once the bodies are searched and Kouss' scavenging is resolved, he dumps the bodies overboard and ends the Daylight before Kren blinds himself with the telescope. ;)
He calls to his allies to gather around if they have injuries they would like healed in case their night's sleep is disturbed again (not sure if anyone got pwnd besides me...) and casts Healing Spirit at 3rd level, having no 2nd level slots left.
Everyone who wants it heals 78 HP as they move in and out of the spirit's space every 6 seconds for the full minute duration of the spell.
Though they don't need any healing probably, Meepo has each of his kobold minions go through the healing, just to enjoy the feel of it, and to heal them of any minor scratches or whatnot they might have from their daily work.
Cali says she will stay up for a watch, if anyone wants to sleep. You all will get a full rest and have a day and a half left of sea fairing when you wake. What would you like to do?
Kouss cleans and stretches the shark skin out over some crates on the deck and lets it dry in the sun the next day. He boils a large pot of water and puts the skin in for a few minutes, removes it, cuts a few strips off, and stretches the rest over some scavenged wood he has fashioned into a crude shield. As it dries, it shrinks, thickens, and hardens across the surface of the shield. Using the strips, he adds thongs to attach it to his forearm. He takes most of the over-sized shark teeth and hammers them through from the back to create some nasty-looking spikes (OOC: Hoping to make a spiked shield like lizardfolk monsters have. I'll PM to figure out if he's successful and, if so, pertinent details).
Other than that, Kouss spends every waking minute sitting next to Golden Claw, staying ever-vigilant.

Make an intelligence check to see how successful you idea will be. Then make a dex check to see how well you actually make it. if you roll high enough on both you'll get something pretty awesome.
Meepo keeps his eyes out for lost things. His body often appears to be drawing in light as he often is casting his guidance cantrip as he moves aorund the ship, always helping to make himself more aware of his suroundings with his looking for those lost things.
Meepo, as one of the other kobold crew members walk by. You see a peice of parchment tucked in his belt. This paper looks like it could be tosseled to the ground at the slightest rock of the boat. And like all things on a ship, once it hits the deck it will be lost to the sea forever.
You take the paper as a duty to the parchment itself. Sliding it gently from the belt of your new follower.
You think that these new friends have a lot to learn about the chaos and control of this world.
If Phil sees Kouss working to create something new... he would move to help the lizardfolk. Applying his knowledge of the arcane and control of the flames to ensure that the water is not too hot and it cures just right.
(DM question because I don't think it was asked: are the luxin spells we picked permanent picks or are they prepared every day after a rest the way clerics, druids, paladins, and wizards do it?)

Phil would calm down as the last of the sharks die and he feels the healing waves crest over him as his wounds heal.

Kren will eventually head to sleep. He'll check his equipment for anything missing every hour or so.

Not sure if you want any proficiency bonus added to either roll but that would, obviously, be +3 to these rolls.

Kouss your dex was great, if you want to use phil help on the int reroll with advantage but not with proficiency
Intelligence with advantage: 12
If Phil would also help out with Guidance, add 2.

They are always prepared like you are a bard long rest to refill
Was 17 enough to make anything more than a mundane shield?
