"I mean... I helped... technically Kouss would probably be dead if it wasn't for me.. but it's fine..." Phil would mutter aloud to himself as he presses a button near his gills and a sphere of water forms around his head. He would then move towards one of the closest cannons as his large feet slap the deck along the way. The light in radiating from his suit would turn a deeper red as he prepared for battle.
Kouss sees everyone maneuvering and getting ready for an inter-vessel nautical battle that none but possibly the crew is experienced with/qualified for and says:
Hide... Prepare... Be ready... Do not engage unless necessary... Nothing so far suggests trouble to Kouss...
As you all redirect your course to avoid any possible confrontation with the navy of blood Forest, you sweep west ward more into the great sea. You can see that the navy ship is turning towards you but disent seem to be advancing to your position. At this time the ships are a little less than 1/4 of a mile apart.
Cali is staying on this new course unless one of you have an idea.
The kobold crew doesn't seem too interested in doing the labor needed to control the boat. Looks like they are still shook up from the land sharks from the previous night.
Everyone not manning a cannon will need to work the sails or take look out from the crows nest.
If you are working the sails give me either athletics or acrobatics checks
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Watching him climb to the crow's nest, Kouss realizes Meepo can barely see over the edge so he follows him up to see if he can get a better vantage.
Kouss does not understand this magic that Meepo and Phil use... Meepo will help Kouss with it...
Asking for assistance via the Guidance spell in his own belligerent way, Kouss takes a long, hard look at the other ship, hoping to see anything else useful.
Perception: 23
(OOC: You said the sun started going down as we first noticed the other ship. If it's dark enough to use the spy glass, can we retcon to either have Kouss borrow it from Kren or ask Kren to take a look?)

Not dark enough yet, if you used it now you would need to roll a con save to see if you were blinded
Meepo as you try to see the other ship you are too distracted by worry of your new followers to really get a good bead on the intentions of the other ship.
Kouss, you cant make out anything and if yet due to the distance. All you can see is ALOT of frantic movement on the deck of the other ship.
(OOC: As far as I can tell, as long as you're using a strength-based attack with a finesse weapon, you should be able to do it. For sneak attack you need a finesse or ranged weapon. For rage bonus it needs to be a strength-based melee weapon attack.)
(Gordak the barbarian/rogue brings his scimitar to bare. He sees the gap in his opponents defenses and like a bloodhound on the scent he focuses all his attention on hitting that single spot. He screams out with a terrible fury and swings with abandon. His vision goes red and nothing matters, nothing matters but to destroy his opponent for having this weakness.
Gordak makes a reckless attack, giving him advantage and adding his sneak attack and rage damage.)
(RAW, yes. I just have a hard time reconciling "raging" with "sneaking"..."rage-sneaking," if you will. XD As a DM I think I'd have to talk with the player to see if they could make it make sense narratively in a convincing way.)
ooc: I can imagine somone standing in the dark.. hiding in the shadows trembling... his hands shaking with anger and his back heaving up and down as his blood boiled with rage. His eyes focused on the approaching target and as he replays his attack over and over on his mind, he grips his daggers tightly... his knuckles whiter than the glowing moon overhead. As the target rounds the corner, the half orc springs towards the target... stabbing recklessly towards the throat of the enemy over and over as the smiles gleefully as blood sprays over his face..
(OOC: A few more thoughts occur to me on both sides of the argument but we're already way off topic.)
Kouss climbs back down to Cali and says:
There is much frantic movement on the deck of this navy... Perhaps it prepares for battle... Perhaps it is preoccupied and this is Cali's opportunity to slip by... What says this Cali?...

Meepo gets his kobolds, and any others he sees moving.
"Come on, get moving there." He calls out in dracconic. "Man your stations all."
Persuasion 3
Meepo himself takes a position where he can view the ship, but has cover from them as well. Hiding behind a crate or something.

Question: cross class rouge barbarian. Can you sneak attack in a rage? Does it work mechanically? Does it work thematicly?
OOC: I would think you could sneak attack in a rage. Not sure why you couldn't.. so long as you arn't wearing heavy armor I think

thanks
As far as "thematically" I have a hard time imagining the scenario in which that takes place...
