Cailee knelt to help the woman stand, if possible. "Are you hurt?" Cailee noted that the woman had asked where she was. She may not have come here of her own will, let alone know what the ritual was about. "What's the last thing you remember?"
Vallen would watch the woman closely and also try to look out for any beast that may try to return to the area. He held his warhammer and shield ready in his hands.
The woman shakes her head trying to regain her composure. "I was in the shrine praying as I do every day. Now I'm here. Did you bring me here? Have I done something wrong?"
Xinq slowly gets to his feet, touching his head delicately as if it might somehow be injured.
He walks up to Svent and says softly, "I'm not sure whose tribe she is, yet. Tell me, warrior, have you ever heard the gods themselves speak? Truly speak, not just some priest's sermons?"
Pausing, but not waiting for the lizardfolk to answer, he laments, "I have", before turning to the Firbolg lady.
"I did not. I hope you aren't in trouble. Moments ago it seemed that you were performing a strange ritual. You were speaking Celestial; my cohort says it sounded like you were trying to summon someone, and a group of hyenas were digging at this spot in the earth."
The woman seems confused. "A ritual? I'm not practiced in magic. Am I possessed? I need to get back to the monastery. There has to be answers there. None of this makes sense."
Valyncia has never been terribly "delicate" when dealing with other people, especially those she doesn't know. It seemed her intimidating presence might be the last thing the others need at the moment. They had the woman handled well enough it seemed. For the time being Valyncia felt her efforts would be better served elsewhere. So she started looking around the clearing that she was so familiar with. Frowning slightly at how much it had changed in such a short amount of time. She began to head off in the direction that most of the hyenas headed into the forest. Not far from the group, just far enough to make sure none of the beasts were still hanging around. It would be best for their own sake to stay away from this clearing.
And the town. That's right it wouldn't be good for anyone if they returned to the town and ate any more of the livestock.
Kairn steps forward with a friendly smile and drops to a knee, stretching out a hand towards her. Well let's get ya up and dusted off some. Been a day for all'a us, it seems. If she takes the offered hand, he'll help her to her feet and look her over again in case he needs to cast a cure wounds.

Jubal quietly exhaled a sigh of relief as he also stood. She hadn't been acting on her own accord--someone had MADE her do this, somehow. But that, in and of itself, still wasn't a good sign. He directly addressed the woman, taking on a serious tone.
"Someone has done this to you. Or something. Regardless, we should probably go with you to your monastery, if you would let us. We might be able to help prevent it from happening again while looking for answers."
He smiled, reassuringly. "By the way, I'm Jubal. The dwarf helping you up is Kairn--a good soul, that one." He pointed at the others. "That one is Vallen, the sorcerer there is Xinq, and the fighter is Svent. The one that's heading off after the beasts--" He wracked his brain, trying to quickly recall names he'd only heard once or twice on the way here, "--is... Valyncia. And this, is Cailee." Another smile, this one slightly embarrassed and apologetic at almost botching the introduction. "I believe she is familiar with your monastery."
His role largely completed, in his mind at least, Jubal bowed slightly and stepped back, as if to allow Cailee to take the lead in interacting with a fellow monk.
The woman accepts the assistance and stands. She doesn't seem to be wounded at all.
In the surrounding woods, the yaps of hyenas can be heard. Before, they sounded pained. Now, they sounded angry. Their shifting shapes move between the trees surrounding the clearing. The constant laugh they produce is unsettling.
Doing what you can to count them, you believe there are at least six of them. There's a sharp cry and they all charge toward the group!
((Since you had an active guard watching, the party will get initiative. There are 8 hyenas. AC 11 and HP 5. Assume that all are within range of you easily being able to get to two on your turn. This is just an appetizer on combat. Don't worry, it will get more technical in the future))
Cailee looked at Xinq in astonishment. "I... know of them. Are you thinking this is related?" Cailee considered that it could make sense if the obelisk marked the location of a sanctuary and the woman was a Warden, but she didn't know enough information to know for sure. When the hyenas appeared, she gripped her quarterstaff and prepared to fight.
Valyncia was ready for the hyena as soon as they made their move. As she took a few steps forward her body began to shift and grow. Soon her already tall form became even taller, fur sprouting along her thickly muscled skin, her face elongating into a more wolf-like appearance with large fangs to match. She let the surge of primal power flow through her body as she got ready for the fight.
Then she howled, a loud powerful threatening howl that all the creatures would hear. With luck some or all of the hyenas would understand that this was a battle they would lose and try to run away instead. If not then at least she would draw all of their attention. So long as they attacked her and not anyone else behind her, she was fine with that.
Activating her Shifter form and Raging.
Hoping to convince the hyenas to run away, let me know if that requires Animal Handling or Intimidation
Jubal spun at the sound of Valyncia's howl, just in time to see hyenas rushing back toward them. He cursed silently to himself at the situation--he hated entering combat without a plan, but at least Valyncia's warning had prevented a sneak attack.
He stepped between the woman and the oncoming hyenas. He didn't consider himself much of a shield--but he was fairly certain his comrades weren't the sort to cut and run in this situation, so the move seemed sufficient. He stared at the oncoming mongrels, fashioning a volume of space in his mind while chanting a quick, lively ditty. The words pulled on the weave, casting their spell and dancing into action to manifest the bard's will.
Jubal will move between the woman and the oncoming hyenas, facing them. He'll then cast Faerie Fire, trying to encompass as many of them as he can in its 20-foot cube volume. It's a DC 13 DEX save to avoid being lit by the orange-red aura the spell causes.
The spell's chant is in a dead arcane language and rhymes. It roughly translates to:
"The enemies think they're unseen? Well, once tagged with the light of Vim, Ha! Their actions are revealed!"
[Since you're trying to scare it and not calm it, I would say roll an intimidation check. The DC will be 11 to scare 1 and you'll scare away an additional hyena for every value above 11.]
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
The cries of the hyenas turn to yelps as fear fills their eyes. They are in fact more a scavenger than a true hunter and they know when they're outmatched. They halt their advance and look to begin to retreat back toward the forest!
[Hyena's Dex save: 15]
An orange red aura lights up a section of the forest and you watch as the hyenas begin to glow in a magical light.
[You may all activate now and do your normal turn. The hyenas are all within range for you to advance on them if you see fit. You have advantage thanks to Faerie Fire]

"Cailee. What do you know of the Wardens?"
Cailee, you may roll a history or religion check to see what you know of the Wardens.
"I did not. I hope you aren't in trouble. Moments ago it seemed that you were performing a strange ritual. You were speaking Celestial; my cohort says it sounded like you were trying to summon someone, and a group of hyenas were digging at this spot in the earth."
Cailee turned and raised an eyebrow. "Wardens?"
((uhhh okay that is not right lol, I'm on my phone so let me try this again 22 ))
