As Ashild climbs onto the deck each one of you feel the ship begin to pull upwards in a lifting sensation.
The colossal wave now towering over the ship the sound of the winds drowning out almost all other sounds, it silently looms tall illuminated by a brief flash of lightning. Wu and Ashild see the wavemaster and apprentice reach the opposite edge of the ship and leap off into the water.
You watch a weird whip across the deck towards Captain Swells. He ducks under it with ease, raises his hand towards it and it bursts apart snapping from its tether to the sea.
“Prepare yourselves!” Wu yells back towards her teammates. She then. Attempts to stunning strike the the wave with a single punch and follows through with a second hit.
Ashild yells down after Wu saying "Giant wave incoming, stay down unless the ship starts breaking." She then runs toward something that she can hold onto and braces herself for the incoming wave.
Mayaries runs up on deck with the rest of his party, chest heaving, rage over. He finds the same handhold that Ashild has, and grabs on and braces himself. He looks to Ashild, and responds in Ignan. "I believe more in swords than superstition." He speaks to Ashild bluntly, and back to the sea.
"But I do like fire." He Produces a Flame in his hand- the same hand as the greatsword. He holds on steady, but shows obvious fear in his eyes. He watches the captain and the wavecarers carefully.
As Wu and Ashild shout warnings, the ship begins to rise rapidly up the wave in the draw of its mighty pull. Ashild runs to a nearby safeline and leashes herself to the mast, Mayaries takes notice and follows suit. Wu takes a firm stance in the center of the deck facing the wave. Yseth climbs onto the deck but the sudden tossing of the ship causes him to stumble to his knees.
The wave carries the ship higher. Higher. A slight nauseous feeling comes over you, along with a heavy dose of uncertainty for the future. The ship is rising up with almost an unnatural speed towards the top of the wave tilting the deck at an angle. Wu leans toward the pitching deck to keep her balance. Ashild and Mayaries grab ahold of their tethers to keep themselves upright. Crewmen grab ahold of various objects and things, others sliding down the deck towards the wooden rail where writhing masses of water twist and coil around the ship. Yseth rolls a few feet downward toward the starboard edge of the ship, where a spiraling weird awaits snapping its focus on him.

Ashild, making sure she stays leashed onto the mast, quickly puts her swords away. She then casts Produce Flame and chucks the flame toward the Weird threatening Yseth.
For Dryver: The above post I screwed up and only rolled for damage instead of doing the attack first. The old damage roll was 7 if you would prefer to take that instead.
Mayaries watches Yseth in danger. He jumps off his rail, using his Winged Boots to fly down to the creature (assuming it's within 40 feet). None of the present company have seen his boots in action before. He grunts aggressively as he rages and swings at the serpent with his greatsword, swinging down to the right, then left.
Yseth struggles to regain his footing on the increasingly vertical ship deck. Turning his attention to the threat beside him, his axe luckily tied to his hand, and swings hard into the wave to keep his balance.

Seeing Yseth losing his balance, and the threat below, Ashild hurls a streak of fire at the creature, and in a moment of shock, Mayaries body hurtles after the flame diving towards the twisting water below. Throwing his feet forward, he slashes the serpent sliding past in midair. Standing on the air with winged shoes, he spins around for a second strike to the aqueous form. Wu, stabilizing herself, throws two bolts of steel with precision, slicing clean through the creature's head and into the frothing sea. The entity hisses and screams as Yseth sliding down the deck leverages his momentum to slam into the creature with the broadside of his axe slowing him down and throwing a spray of water off the weird.
The ship continues to rise cresting the top of the wave, you can see the sea around you is in turmoil. Yet, just but hundreds of feet away, like looking into a dream, you can see calm waters past the freak storm.
A moment of surreal calm passes at the top, and miraculously, the ship begins to level… and then descend the bow drops sharply down the other of the wave. The weirds continue to pursue reaching down after the ship extending their tethers over the ship. The damaged weird remains and snaps towards Yseth...
Mechanics & explanation:
Weird: Attack: 20 Damage: 16
If a hit(Yseth's AC 14 meet or beat) Yseth is grappled, restrained and is pulled over the edge now suspended midair off the side of the ship. (5ft off the side), otherwise remains on the ship unscathed.
The ship leveled out and is now tilting perpendicular to the way it was earlier(Nose down or the bow).
If you fail the DC 13 Acrobatics check below (and are standing on the deck) any attacks or grapple checks(still attacks) are at a disadvantage:
Yseth:4
Wu:22 Natural one! Wu you are prone and thrown 10 ft towards the bow sliding past the mast.
Mayaries focuses onto where he hit the last strikes, and recklessly cleaves into the aqueous form. He kicks into into the air to give himself more strength in his swings.
Wu regains her footing and then shuffles up towards the mast of the ship to which she had previously been perched. Manipulating the Ki around her Wu is able to Disengage from the weird.
Mechanics use half my movement to get up from being prone, and then 20 movement to climb up while using my bonus action to use a ki point to disengage. Also using my dash if need be.
The weird dissipates with the combined focus of axe and flame.
The ship seems to be gaining speed, while several crewmen are pulling another from the grasp of an elemental aberration.
This is a moment for you to make decisions and ask questions and (make relevant checks ahead of time) to inform your next decisions. you may certainly take actions as well.

Yseth surveys the deck to get an idea of what's going on and where everyone is, and then looks to the sea to get an idea of just how high up the ship is, and how quickly it'll go back down.
“Apologies. My intention was to wait for us to strike together. There’s no use to running in and dying alone.”
Wu exits the hold and prepares to fight (take dodge action)
Ashild follows, shortswords in hand, and looks around to see the closest enemy

The Wave is imminent.
"I shoulda known it wasn't gonna be smooth sailing." Yseth is going to see the wave and run for the nearest edge of the ship and jump off.
Acrobatics if necessary:

Below each of you on the slope, is a railing that juts out perpendicular to the deck.
Ashild, making sure she stays leashed onto the mast, quickly puts her swords away. She then casts Produce Flame and chucks the flame toward the Weird threatening Yseth.
If Weird is within range (30 ft):
Attack: 16 Damage: 10
