As the magical hand touched the door, the entire 20' x 10' hall erupted into flame, as if suddenly we were in a large oven. Everyone takes 29 damage that racial traits can reduce, but not abilities like evasion.
"******* SON OF A *****!"screamed Madison, looking on the edge of just god damn having enough of this place.
Another hallway: this one 40' by 10', completely black. A door at the end. Strange runes on the last 20' of the hallway, purple, glowing, and unnerving.

Father's eyes roll in a comical manner and he promptly falls asleep. For how long, is anyone's guess.
Before you lies a strange room that's about 100' x 100'. It's only dimly lit with purple light and you can barely see the edges of the room. There are three perfect pyramids in this room, large monolithic structures. On top of these structures are humanoids each with hands raised towards the ceiling - which you now realize, there is no ceiling, only a vast beautiful star field displaying astronomical phenomena you've never seen before. The humanoids are, as far as your mind can tell, abstract representations of what your mind is telling you - that they are humanoid, but clearly not. One of them slowly turns to you, and descends down the staircase. Her form wavers and shimmers, as if molding into a sensory equivalent of something you can comprehend - an elven female with white hair.
"Welcome, travelers of Space and Time. The Elder Gods come from a place unimaginable and unknowable, beyond the confines of this reality - and much, much further. Since before your world was created, they have ever sought to acquire beings of power in your reality, and from many others, to act as their representatives. You now stand before three. Even though you may or may not know it, all of you are being tested. For what? - you might wonder. And, I can only say - for something wonderful. Umbra can give you everything you desire. Wealth, power, knowledge, love. These things, and many more, are available to take. The question is, what will you give?"
"Your silence speaks volumes."the Herald says. "Here. I will give you a choice. Where you stand now is at the very entrance to a realm that your mortal minds could not possibly comprehend. However, you are here for a reason, whether you believe so, or not. You will need every power at your disposal should you wish to proceed - which you will. Submit your soul to the power of the Elder God Umbra, and receive a gift. Refuse, and die."
"Fantastic. In exchange for eternal servitude, I bestow upon you a gift from beyond the heavens."
FARLOS, EMPIRE'S DREAM:Your abilities have a 10% to have your target erupt into flames, causing 1d100 damage.
SK'SHUUL VAS:Your actions have a 10% chance to raise your AC to 100 for the rest of the battle.
AN'ZIG VRA:Your spells have a 10% chance to heal you to full, and give you 1000 temporary hit points.
MAR'KOWA THE MINDPIERCER:Your spells have a 10% to raise all of your abilites to 25 for the rest of the battle.
UNGUENT CARESS:Your spells or abilities have a 10% chance to create a shadow tentacle that attacks at the same bonus as the attack that generated it, but does 1d100 damage.
QWOR N'YLETH:Your spells or abilities have a 10% to heal the same amount of damage they did to whomever you wish.
SHARD OF THE BLACK EMPIRE:Your spells or abilities have a 10% chance to return you to the Dark Star, where your spell slots are all refreshed, and you return to whence you came.
"What the ****!"Madison began to panic. "Submit? Are you all mad??"
"I think that we should be asking if you're the one who's mad. The herald of a god stands before you, offering unimaginable power in exchange for mere service, and you refuse, instead choosing to cling to the tenets of the Order after everything you've seen, like a child that refuses to stop feeding from its mothers breast. Will you continue to do so now, or will you choose to live?" And Villanelle will accept An'Zig Vra.

"Mere service?!"Madison barked. "Sure, the Order ****ed us over, but you have no IDEA what this power is going to do to you all, or what IT is going to make you do. I'm surprised your fragile juvenile mind can even wrap your head around it. Or maybe it can't, or hasn't, and you truly ARE all insane!"
The Herald waited patiently for Madison to decide, as if it had all the time in eternity to do so.

“Go on, then. Open it.” she offers, gesturing to the door, without even a word of thanks.
Dia rolls her eyes, summons a mage hand and has that open the door from a distance.
