As the two tall goblinoid creatures move into position at either side of the door frame, Lumen hurls the bag of poo. However, feeling the excitement and pressure of the situation, his aim is a little off, and the sack lands with a sick sounding plop about five feet in front of the door. The two creatures seem to flinch a little bit, but they remain at their locations, partially hidden by the door frames as they pull the strings back on their bows.
Chrys, you are up first in the initiative order, so it's your turn.

Chrys, spotting the tell-tale sign of longbows, charges through the doorframe and stops directly between the two creatures. She makes sure to position herself so that they will have to reckon with her hammer in close combat, whether they stay where they are or try to move away. She'll also makes sure that if they're trying to take aim at her, they'll inadvertently be taking aim at one another should they miss, due to their disadvantageous positioning across from one another. "Heh... we're makin' a paladin sandwich, an' that ain' t gonna end pretty for either o' ya,"she growls. Due Process is ready to make its judgement, so she takes a swing at one of them.
Attack: 25 Damage: 6 blunt
As she's fighting, she yells out behind her "They got longbows! Charge in after me an' make sure they have a harder time hittin' ya, or get behind some cover!"

(Lumen, whenever is his turn, will use vicious mockery on one of the tall goblinoids, with a WIS 14 save or 2 psychic damage and disadvantage on the next attack.)
As Chrys charges forward, the two creatures attempt to get a good lock on her with their bows. Unfortunately, her surprisingly quick and continuous movement down the hall prevents them from achieving accurate aim, and their hesitation allows the dwarf to close the distance to zero. She now stands just inside the doorframe, between a pair of tall hobgoblins, as she now sees them to be, with their redish tinted skin, flat goblins faces, pronounced noses and long black hair.
Both are suited up in chainmail armor, and you see a shield at each of their feet, no doubt for quick retrieval as soon as they had fired their bows. The quick movements of the dwarf have obviously caught them a bit off guard, and they scramble to drop their bows and reach for their longswords, but not before she bashes the one on the right squarely in the chest with her hammer.
The hobgoblin lets out a loud grunt as he tries to absorb the force of the blow. Roaring a loud battle cry in the goblin tongue, he draws forth his blade, and gripping tightly with both hands, he slashes with fury at this dwarven enemy.
Attack: 14 Damage: 11
Fortunately, Chrys manages to parry the attack with a loud clang of hammer, and the rest of you watch the battle unfold from 30 feet down the hall.
(Vesper, you're up now.)
Lumen, you can always go back to the poo room and fill up another bag. 😆
Vesper's arcane Fire Bolt flies forth from her fingers and shoots down the hallway towards the melee. Unfortunately, with the hobgoblin partially covered by the door frame, it's a difficult shot, and she watches as the bolt sails right between the two combatants and slams into the far wall of the room.
Seeing his companion hit by this heavy armored dwarf invader, the second hobgoblin also pulls forth his sword, but instead of swinging it at the dwarf, he takes the time to reach down and grab his shield. It takes a few seconds for him to securely lash it to his arm, and with that time spent, he forgoes an attack this round, instead better preparing himself for what could very well be a serious battle with an entire group of invaders.

Krackle would freeze as he sees the number of enemies ahead of them... terror gripping him as his tail becomes stiff as a board. He would nearly drop the small stone as he tucks it into his sling. Quickly he would begin twirling the small strap of leather above his head, looking straight towards the hobgoblin Chrys attacked. After a few quick circular motions, The tiny kobold would let a stone fly towards the hobgoblin.

(Lumen's vicious mockery will be to call out in common, strumming his lute ominously, "You two are in deep shit back home -- the boss will have you scrubbing latrines for the rest of your miserable lives!" at the hobgoblin he's targeting. He's trying to throw them off their game and distract them from ganging up on Chrys and focus on him, maybe even miss an action. Deception roll in spoiler in case the DM is feeling benevolent.)
As he takes careful aim and lets the stone fly from his sling, Krackle watches as he manages to make an incredible shot. Even though the hobgoblin is partially hidden by the door frame, and right next to Chrys, his accuracy is true, and the stone strikes the creature right in the temple. The hobgoblin lets out a roar as he winces from the blow to his head, but remains standing with his focus on the dwarf that's standing in front of him.
From inside the room, Chrys's eyes suddenly see a third enemy... the goblin that had escaped earlier. He's standing on the far side of the room, about twenty feet away from her, and is still armed with his short bow. As if she doesn't have enough to contend with, Chrys watches as he nocks an arrow and lets it fly right in her direction. Attack: 5 Damage: 6
Fortunately, the arrow bounces harmlessly off her shield.
(Kess is now up, so Vesper can take her turn. Then Lumen is next. None of you can see the goblin, except for Chrys, as he is out of sightline from the hallway.)
From her current vantage point in the hallway, Kess cannot see the goblin, and thus is unaware that there's a third opponent. She can see both of the hobgoblins, though.
Right now, she doesn’t know it exists, she can only see the two hobgoblins. If she were to move towards the door, she’d be standing within melee range to both of them, and she’d have to make a perception check to see if she actually notices the goblin.

As Krackle sends his sling stone at the hobgoblin's head, Kess is already reaching back to retrieve an arrow from her quiver. Pulling the string back on her own longbow, she takes careful aim, (it's a difficult shot, and any error or erratic movement by her target might mean hitting Chrys instead), and waits for just the right moment to relate. The arrow sails forth and strikes true, impaling itself in the hobgoblin's neck. It immediately slumps dead.
A moment later, Lumen casts his Vicious Mockery cantrip and slings forth a verbal insult that proves far more effective than the bag of pool that he had just slung down the hallway. The creature makes a slight wince of his deep orange-skinned head, but keeps his focus on the dwarf.
I did roll for psychic damage earlier here, does that 2 beat the 1?
Also, did the hobgoblin seem to hear what Lumen said in his deceptive bluff about the them being in trouble, with the 25 deception roll? Goal was to get attention away from Chrys...
Thanks Lumen, I had missed seeing your original VM damage roll. As for the bluff, that's certainly a good roll, and in most situations, it would be good enough to convince/deceive most creatures. However, hobgoblins are trained fighters, and in this case, it would be nearly impossible to convince them to break ranks when they're currently outnumbering a single dwarf in close quarters. At most, I could say that your distraction might give him disadvantage on his next attack, but you already gave him that with your VM spell, which he failed.
That said, we'll see what happens when Chrys and Vesper take their turns...
