Kess nods with a bit of apprehension but assents to the plan. She readies her bow and nocks an arrow onto the string, keeping her aim close to Lumen as she again ghosts into the brush and trees. If these orcs attack him, she'd be sure to try and drop the threats nearest to him first before charging in.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Lumen whispers, "I'll try to get them fighting. Give me a few minutes. If I appear, or if I yell, then start the distraction. Or start it if it feels right. Here goes nothing."
He moves back to the firelight conversation, finding a spot near one of the orcs where he would be somewhat hidden if he were visible (near a tree or rock, etc). He listens to the conversation and waits for a good opportunity. A chance to respond to another with a mimicked insult from the orc near him. A deft grab of one's food bowl to throw into the fire, making it seem like another did it. Kicking the stick being used as a poker for the campfire into the face of another. Dumping a bucket of water into the fire to cause steam and ash to fulminate on another. Depends on what he finds there.
With his plan set, Lumen begins creeping back into the orc camp.... and stubs his toe on a rock, which causes him to fall to the ground and create a rather loud thump into. It isn't helped by his inadvertent "OOOFF!" that escapes from his mouth as he hits the ground.
The closest orc sentry, which is about 30 feet away looks over and lets out a quick shout as he hurries over to the area where he heard the noise. He doesn't seem to see anything, and so he walks away, continuing to search for the source of the sound, but not raising any kind of alarms.
When he moves away, Lumen quietly gets back up and continues into the camp. Positioning himself near the fire, but behind a small tree, he begins to throw in a couple of quick insults and making inappropriate comments at the chief, trying his best to mimic the sound of the other orcs.
His audible deceptions are certainly heard, and a brief argument ensues, but nothing that causes a major distraction. Moving a bit closer, doesn't see any kind of water bucket nearby, and the orcs are not currently eating, so there are no food bowls. Going with his next idea, he tries kicking one of the logs that's sticking partway out of the fire. Winding his foot back, he snaps his boot into the log, which sends it tumbling across the fire and right into the legs of one of the orcs in a flurry of sparks.
This brings a series of surprised yells from the orcs, and as Lumen begins to back away form the fire, he suddenly stumbles, and falls backward and hits the ground, causing an even louder thud than last time.
The orcs at the fire all freeze and stare in the exact direction where the noise came from. One of them suddenly yells in orcish, "Someone is here!! An intruder...!"
The chief looks over, and even though he doesn't see anything, he shouts to the others, "Find him!" as he raises his axe.
The rest of you, who are listening carefully, suddenly hear a commotion, and although you cannot understand what's being said, it's obvious that Lumen has caused some kind of excitement or alarm over by the fire. From your position, you can see the closest sentry to you suddenly look back to try and figure out what's going on.
Lumen looks around, swearing to himself, wondering how it could have gone worse. He could have fallen in the fire, that would have been worse. He grabs a rock on the ground, stands, and chucks it off in a direction away from the group, at an angle low to the ground through brush, such that it could be mistaken for something fleeing. He pauses.

Does anyone have metal armor on? He's looking for a chance for another distraction if it seems like he's about to be discovered, to cast heat metal on armor worn by someone important in the camp.
Both the chief and the female orc challenger are wearing chain mail armor.
Lumen’s distraction with throwing the stone seems to work. All four orcs at the fire twist their heads around when it skitters through the tree branches and strikes the trunk of a cottonwood. The chief shouts an alert and orders two of the fire pit orcs to go investigate. They leave the fire and start making their way over to where the rock fell. For now, the attention seems to be shifted away from Lunen’s position.
Can Lumen find a visual hiding place from the chief? Crouching behind a large rock, laying behind a log, standing behind a trunk, sitting behind a shrub? He’d like to move there and then prepare to cast heat metal on the chief’s armor, in 30-60 seconds. He will update Vesper of his plans if she checks in with her message spell.
Yes. Quickly looking around, Lumen spots a large fallen log that he feels would provide him with a decent hiding place, or at the very least some partial cover. While the orcs have taken his diversion and have turned their attention to the place where his thrown rock made the sound, Lumen quickly skirts over to the log, hops over and and positions himself behind it.
He then casts his Heat Metal magic, which instantly dispels his Invisibility.
The spell is targeted at the orc chief's chain mail armor. The armor begins to glow red-hot, which brings a surprised shout from the orc leader. He's still standing by the fire, and so he assumes that somehow he got too close, or that the fire has caused this freakish occurrence. He quickly steps back from the fire, hoping that the heat will subside, but it in the ensuing half minute, it does not. He begins to twist and wriggle in pain and shout with urgency as he tries desperately to remove the armor from his body. This causes even more commotion with the orcs. By now, the guards have been alerted, and are looking inward toward the camp, and the three sleeping orcs have woken up and are now standing by their bedrolls looking around, and as you would guess, looking for their weapons.
(Lumen can roll for 2d8 damage for the spell)
Meanwhile, Lumen cast his message spell to Vesper to update her on what's going on. (Lumen can specify his message.)
The drow didn't speak a word of Orc, but the tone didn't sound good as the orcs stood and took up arms. Once Vesper updates the group on Lumen's message, Nym will proceed around the camp as stealthily as possible. (Stealth: 12 ) Using her Dancing Lights cantrip to create a shape as close to resemblance of the fox spirit as she possibly could with her Eilistraee's magic. She made it appear as close to where she estimated Lumen to have thrown the rock as possible and made it look to scamper away from the band of orcs and yet also not towards their own group. Whether or not that might be towards Lumen though was undeterminable considering his invisibility unfortunately...
((How close together are all of the orcs? There's 5 total, right? Or was it 6?))
(Right now, there are three sentries, two searching for the noise by the tree, the two by the fire, including the chief, and three over by the bedrolls, so 10 total.)
The commotion inside the orc camp was already growing, but when Nym casts her Dancing Lights spell and creates the shape of a glowing fox that scampers away from the tree where Lumen's had landed, it increases even more. The three orc sentries and the two orcs that had originally been by the fire are now running around, calling out, and now trying to chase this strange light that's moving around the camp. Nym can't tell if the light is moving towards or away from Lumen.
Lumen
From your hiding place inside the camp, you see a glowing light, roughly the same size and shape as the spectral fox you had encountered a few days ago. It appears right near the tree where you had throw the rock, and now it begins moving north, towards the edge of the camp, but in a direction that's not anywhere close to you.
Lumen lays behind the log, causing fire damage from the heat metal every round on his bonus action for a minute.

If Vesper messages (Lumen does not have this spell) he says, "Bungled being quiet. Laying behind the log, can you see me? Chief's distracted and cooking. Ambush in a minute?"
Lumen sends his message to Vesper as the commotion inside the orc camp continues, with 5 of the orcs trying to chase Nym's Dancing Lights, and the chief frantically shouting in agony and trying to remove his red hot armor. It takes him a full minute to do so, and as this happens, the three orcs by the bedrolls are running around camp, yelling and shouting, while the female orc is yelling back at them and also shouting commands at the orc sentries as the try and chase the lights.
Lumen
Lumen can hear the orcs shouting, and the three by the bedrolls are running around yelling that that they can't find their axes, that someone stole them. The female orc shouts curse at them, calling them stupid dwarf brains and telling them to use their hunting knives instead.
Lumen receives Vespers message, and then one full minute passes.
Ok, given that the orcs are seemingly distracted by the mayhem, everyone who's outside the camp can state their first round actions now. I need a stealth check from Lumen to see if he's spotted by the orcs who are running around.
