After retraining from your search, Ellywick bids you good luck in your goblin-hunting endeavor and then she moves back into the woods to take up a position about 100 feet away from the entrance and find a nice hiding place where she can wait for you to return... That is... if you return.
"How long should I wait before I get worried?" she asks.
"10-15 minutes. I don't know, it depends on how far the tunnel goes after the stairs."Vesper says, before following after Krackle and Lumen, but not at the same pace. She motions for Chrys and Kess to follow her and will get behind them as well once they entered.
OOC: Is Ellywick a man or a woman? I get confused because sometimes you say he and sometimes it's she.
(OOC: How long would it take Chrys to pickup the scattered caltrops? She would try if it's not going to be more than 10 minutes of work.)
"I don't think it's a grand idea to leave this trap here while we go in," Chrys says, eying the caltrops. "If we need to exit this cave in a hurry for some reason, it's gonna backfire on us." There's nothing to be done for the spilled oil -- which actually still might prove to be useful, especially if they find themselves making a hasty retreat -- but she gathers the caltrops back up into the pouch to ensure that the group can have a safe exit.
OOC: It would only take a couple minutes to retrieve all of your caltrops and stuff them back into the leather pouch. Once you’ve got them all picked up, shall I assume that you head into the cave and begin making your way dow the steps?
As we get closer, Lumen will stay close to Krackle and keep an eye out for traps and an ear out for sounds. Before heading down, he whispers to Krackle that he likes the kobold, so please don’t rush off or he might get attacked or harmed away from where the group can help him.
"I like you too!" Krackle would exclaim excitedly "I really like when you play that one some that goes "Doot doot! DOOO!!" He would reply as he bobs around a bit as though dancing along, his tail swinging in the dirt. not really being quiet since no one ever replied to his yells earlier.
You enter the cave and begin descending a set of stone steps that have been hewn from the rock. They run for about 30 feet with a gradual decline. As you reach the end, you see that a large room lies at the bottom of the stone steps, full of dust and rubbish. Two dark stone statues that stand at the far exit to this chamber, which is about 50 feet wide and 40 feet across.
Here, the natural stone changes from carved rock to smooth blocks of onyx that’s been engraved with swirling, circular patterns. The floor is paved with black and purple tiles, and the ceiling is also made from onyx blocks and are 10-feet high. Faint streams of natural light shine in from the ceiling, through a series of narrow shafts to the surface that you must have missed during your previous search outside.
As you prepare to enter the room, you hear a muffled sound near you. Looking around, you see that it’s being made by a single goblin, who’s crouched in a ball near the bottom step, apparently sleeping and snoring rather loudly.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Vesper is absolutely amazed at how this Goblin is still asleep after all of Krackle's shouting and running in. A part of her can't help but wonder if it's a trick, meant to lure them into complacency.

Regardless of the outcome of her check, Vesper will cast Message four times, sending the following whisper to each member of the party. "Be careful with that Goblin. Don't let him do anything that might warn the other goblins, but maybe don't immediately kill him. We might be able to get some information out of him."

Now ain't that strange. For bein' so cunnin' on the road, this lil' bastard is anythin' but. Chrys is wary, but they're here for a job, and it's going to get done - so she approaches the goblin and simply slams one hand over his mouth while using her other to twist his hands behind his back to grapple him. She then starts to drag him back towards the entrance of the cave, so the others can question the goblin ouside, or at least further away from the interior of the cave. "Anybody got a rope?" she asks as she does this, doing her best to muffle the goblin's protests.
(I'd assume the goblin auto-fails the athletics / acrobatics check since he's asleep, but I can put a roll in here if it's needed)
"Don't hurt him though..." krackle would say as he holds a single clawed finger. "Maybe he is a nice goblin.. like mr. wuzwig." The kobold would add as his companions wrestle with the goblin.

Lumen Krackle retention save: 15
(That DC is high enough that I feel our fair kobold friend will not be long for this world.)
Lumen bids Ellywick adieu and tells her that it shouldn’t take more than a few hours, and to take care of herself.
He will start to pick his way through the tunnel and avoid the caltrops and oil.
