Chrys sizes up her opponent. Smirking, she crouches down and waits for the referee's signal to start. At the signal, she barrels forward, teeth gritted, and dives low, aiming to hit her shoulder directly into the stomach of the taller human reaching for her. She tries to use her momentum to spin him around while wrapping both arms around his waist, and then shove him face-first into the ground.
If she succeeds, she'll grab the man's left ankle in both of her hands, twist it up at the knee, and then trap his calf between her thighs as she slams her entire body on top of the man's back. Her arms will wrap around his neck and squeeze in a chokehold to hold him prone. Since she's a little smaller than this guy, this hold would painfully pretzel him just a little bit.

Vesper waves to the crowd. "Hi!"
She casts Prestidigitation three times. The first time she uses it to create some small, brilliantly colored fireworks. The second time, she creates the sound of beautiful singing from Elvish women. And on the third time, she points out a member of the audience and uses her spell to put a small flower in their hands. Throughout the entire time that she does this, she spins around and dances.

Xenophon: Topaz Dragonborn Fighter (ixi's Dragon of Icespire Peak)
The match starts, and Chrys barrels towards the man, driving her shoulder into his gut. However, her opponent is quicker than she anticipated, and he steps aside, grabs her shoulder and back and instead uses her own momentum to drive her to the ground. She collapses on the covered wooden platform with a pronounced thud that nearly knocks the wind out of her.
The man throws himself on top of her, going for the pin, but Chrys reacts with deliberate dwarven power, breaks his hold and stand back up, which brings a round of cheers from the crowd.
The two combatants circle the ring for a few seconds before she makes another move. This time Chrys gets a better hold on Mr. Ugly Tattoo Guy and gets the takedown. However, she isn’t able to establish a firm grapple, and he wriggles free, spins his body around and leaps back up.
They circle the ring once again, each one looking for a the briefest of advantage to exploit. She can hear her beating inside her chest and her ears are filled with the audience chanting, yelling and shouting encouragements, you guess more for you than for him...
Finally, you make your move. Lunging towards, you drive your shoulder into his center of gravity and step forward with all your weight behind you. The push compromises his balance just enough to make him lose his footing, and as you keep shoving, you slam him to the mat. Your land directly onto his chest with all of your mass and you hear a pathetic souding exhale from his lungs.
He wiggles a little bit, but your grasp is firm, and you hold fast... two seconds... three.... four....
Five!!!!!! The referral slams his hand down on the mat next to you, indicating your successful pin and your victory. She wins the round, and 5gp, as well as a spot in the semifinal.
OOC: Ok Silver, you’re next.

Vesper
A few people in the crowd answer your greeting with slight indifference. However, your first illusion brings much more enthusiasm. People “ooh” and “ah!!” as they watch your brief fireworks display above their heads.
Her opponent, Mr. Burgandy Cloak Guy takes his turn and he creates the illusion of a dazzling swriling ribbon that flutters above the crowd. At first it’s red, then it turns yellow, then blue, then purple, then green, before disappearing in a brief explosion of sparks.
The audience responds with a decent level of applause, but it’s not quite as loud as the one Vesper received. The idea was good, and the quality of his magic seemed ok, but his ending was not quite as dynamics as Vesper’s ending.
During the next round, the crowed is rendered to total silence as they listen with awe at her rendering of the illusory elven singing. The voice is very compelling and it’s apparent that people are completely captured by it. When it ends, they respond with a very loud round of cheering.
Her opponent takes his second round, creating the sound of song birds singing a delightful nature melody. It’s good, but not nearly as good as Versper’s elf song, and the audience responds accordingly.
On the third and last round, Vesper creates her illusory flower, and while it’s good, the other mage’s illusion garners a much more positive response from the audirnece. He also creates a flower, but his is highly detailed, with an intricate array of brightly colored petals, and the crowd response indicates that they liked his better.
Hoever, the contest is two out of three, so Vesper wins the match and claims victory to an elated crowd, her prize being 5gp and advancement to the next round.
OOC: Lumen, you’re up.
———————
Krackle
WHen his turn is called, Krackle steps into the ring, and walks over to the pile of places and mugs. His opponent is a wiry elf that gives him a very dirty look that he reads as disgust, or at the very least, blatant superiority.
When the match starts, both contestants begin with a plate on top of a mug. They walk a lap, and when they’ve completed their circuit, they start their second by adding another mug, then a plate, and so forth.
Both Krackle and the elf easily finish their first three laps, balancing the growing stack with no trouble. Things start to get tenuous when they add the second plate, though, and during the lap, both competitors find themselves wight increased swaying. They both finish the circuit, though, pile another mug on and start then next.
This one proves much more challenging, and a third of the way into the fifth lap, both contestants find it very difficult to keep the stack from swaying. Nimble little Krackle does his best to remain steady, as does the elf. However, halfway around the ring, the elf takes a bad step and his tower tumbles to the cobbles with a loud clatter. A second later, Krackle loses his as well, probably because he was startled by the noise.
Still, that second counts, and Krackle comes away with the win, and a prize of 5gp, plus he advances to the next round. The crowd responds with an explosion of cheers and laughter. Mostly laughter.
(OOC: my rolls are in the spoiler text of my last post)
The elf steps up and gestures widely, and first causes all candles and lights to ignite all at once.
Second, she will cause the scent of a sumptuous dinner to fill the air, a large roast, vegetable stew, glazed pies, potatoes an gratin... spices, amazing food.
Third, the frail-looking elf draws a big heavy scary longsword out of nowhere, dropping the tip to the ground immediately, looking as though she cannot even lift it. Then she looks up at the judges, grins, and sweeps the sword up in a high arc and then launches into a very energetic sword form, similar to the haka-like movements Lumen performed on stage. This lasts for a few minutes, the frail elf body permforming admirably. Then, mid-lunge, Lumen dispells the disguise self spell, and Lumen appears in all his half-elf glory. He waits for applause.
Krackle's eyes would turn into dinner plates as he was given the gold coins. With his claws trembling, he would take the coins with his sharp-toothed mouth hanging open in a mixture of amazement and excitement. "Thank you! thank you! thank you! Thank you!" The kobold would exclaim as he bounced his way out to meet up with the others. "Hey! How did you all do? I bet you did great." He would say to Vesper and Chrys. "Did you see me with those mugs? I only won by a little bit but I still won! I have never had this much coin!" Krackle would say before letting out an excited squeal. "Hey, is Silver up? I have to cheer him on!"The small kobold would say before zooming off to find a spot close to the action.

Arine appeared in good spirits, hollering and cheering with the rest of the crowd. Gold was gold was gold, and she wasnt fool enough to imply they wouldn't need it.
"Aww Hell don't leave me out of this," she laughed. "The Lady smiles on the bold." With that, she plucked her amulet from around her neck, flipping it like a coin, but snapped it out of the air without checking which way it'd land.
She rushed off to the line of competitors eager to test their Agility.
"She sounded like an angel!" Arine called from across the way, not even slightly embarrassed by who might have heard her. She couldn't even be seen through the crowd, with her stature. Like a kid was precisely right. She may have been willing to blame a little on the alcohol. "I mean - her wiggle fingers did? You know what I mean."
Quickly Arine looked around, as if struck by a thought, and bellowed, "Oy where's that big boy? The one with those pipes on'em, I wanna word. That was a real sweet trick." She'd thrown quite a bit of applause in Lumen's direction for his set, too.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
As he walk near the square, Silver starts to mutter ¨Remmember the training 70% of the fight is in the mind¨over and over again. When Silver is at the edge he strip himself of boots weapons and all the top garments. As the dragonborn steps inside the arena a more feral attitude takes over. Inside Silver´s mind the phrase *70% of the fight is in the mind* goes over and over again , and when the referee makes the signal Silver let out a mighty roar (( if it´s needed intimidation 23 if not just ignore it)) .
Silver rushes toward his opponent and will try to hit his right shoulder against the right shoulder of his opponent to make him lose his balance, with enough luck the right leg will rise to the point that silver will be able to grab it with his rigth hand. If he succeeds, he will pull it with all his migth, making his opponent spin out of balance exposing his back towards Silver and he will simply fall on to him pinning him on the flood and will lock his arms over his opponent head and arms.
When Vesper's round is over, the next two contestants step into the ring. This time, it's an aged elf woman and a blond haired gnome wearing a bright blue tunic. The elf begins. She waves a winked hand and all of the candles and torches that have been set up for the evening's festivities suddenly light up with flickering flames. A quick "Oooo!!' emits from the crowd.
The gnome smiles, and you catch a faint eye roll, as he waves his own hand and speaks a few arcane words and creates a beautiful garden of vivid flowers and bright green grass at the edge of the ring. The visual quality is simply amazing, and when the crowd is quiet, the sounds of buzzing bees can be heard emanating from the illusion. It's rewarded with a tremendous applause from the audience and lots of "Ahhhhs."
Next, the elf casts her magic and creates the illusory scent of a sumptuous dinner that fills the air, complete with the inviting and appetizing smells of a large roast, vegetable stew, glazed pies, potatoes, spices, etc... Whether it's the quality of the illusion or the simple fact that it's more than most people have eaten today, the crowd gives the elf a rousing, enthusiastic applause.
The gnome takes his turn and creates a duplicate of himself, complete with the bright blue tunic and fuzzy blonde hair. This second gnome begins walking around, stepping back and forth across the ring, until finally, the duplicate appears to trip and fall in an awkward and rather amusing way. The crowd is immensely pleased with this illusion, but the applause is not quite as hearty as what the elf had earned for her second attempt.
On the third and final round, the frail-looking elf draws a big heavy scary longsword out of nowhere, dropping the tip to the ground immediately, looking as though she cannot even lift it. Then she looks up at the audience, grins, and sweeps the sword up in a high arc and then launches into a very energetic sword form, similar to the haka-like movements Lumen performed on stage. This lasts for a few minutes, the frail elf body permforming admirably. Then, mid-lunge, Lumen dispells the disguise self spell, and Lumen appears in all his half-elf glory. He waits for applause.
The audience does give him a rousing applause, for he has just showed them two illusions in one. While he does get some boos in response to his ruse with the disguise, the majority seems to find it pleasing and let him know with their claps and cheers.
In his final attempt, the gnome goes all out. He does a few hand movements and says a few words, and then stands there. Nothing happens. The audience remains silent in their confusion as the gnome just stands rigid with a smile on his face.
Suddenly, you begin to hear a faint flapping, and whooshing sound that slowly increases with intensity. It appears to be coming from behind the front line of the audience. People start looking around, curious, but they don't see anything. Then, the odd smell of sulfur beings to permeate the air. It grows stronger as the whooping sound continues to get louder.
Then, out of nowhere, the image of a fifteen foot long red dragon appears directly overhead and flies straight at the gnome, wings flapping and teeth bared. The gnome stands perfectly still as the audience lets out a huge collective gasp. Finally, the dragon overtakes the gnome and lets out a loud, terrifying roar before disappearing in a flash of light and smoke. Then all is silent...
...that is, for about two seconds before the crowd erupts in an overwhelming applause that goes on for quite a few minutes. The gnome smiles at the audience, does a deep bow, smiles at lumen and leave the ring to claim his prize.
((Edit: I only see 2 rolls, so rolling a third. 10 And rerolling that 1, 15 ))
After waiting for her turn, Arine entered the ring cocky, arms outstretched and peering up at the crowd like she expected applause for that alone. Liquid courage was a hell of a thing. She made a show of spinning the plate before balancing it and the mug, beginning her trek around the ring with a sway in her step.
Lumen blinks, dumbfounded that his attempts and his disguise ruse couldn't beat what the gnome did. He sighs, body drooping, and kicks the dirt a few times. He tips his cap to his competitor and then returns to the sidelines, looking for the nearest place that will serve him ale. Anyone walking close by hears him muttering in a mix of orcish and common phrases like, "why'd you bother trying, orc-boy" and "should have just tried to wrestle like your people"and "leave the magic to the smart people"and "maybe it'd be better to go back to the mountains with your tail between your legs and beg them to lift the banishment." He will half-heartedly watch the rest of the tournament, cheering on his new friends but mostly drowning his sorrows in his beer.
DM: can Lumen get close enough to any of the semi-finalists just before their matches to inspire them? If so he will use up to three of his inspire slots for this purpose over the next round or two (the recipient can add a d6 to any skill check, attack roll, or saving throw ten minutes after it's cast). It manifests this time as some truly terrible drunken singing, or bored drumming with fingers on the edge of the bar. Range is 60 feet so up to you.
"Good try Lumen, I thought you were way better than that guy..." Krackle would say as he tried to reach up and pat the half-orc on the back, but only managed to pat hin on the ass due to his short stature. as he hears the words Lumen is uttering to himself, he would pause for a moment as his companion continued towards the beer tent. "Don't feel bad for being you..." He would say just loud enough for Lumen to potentially hear him before tur ing and heading back towards where Silver was going to compete.
Lumen: Yes, you can use your bardic inspiration dice to cheer on your companions during these contests. They’re basically a series of contested skill checks. I’ll apply them to first roll where it would make a difference, or the lowest roll, whichever occurs first.
Chrys gathers her winnings atfter match, grinning from ear to ear. As she does so, she sees Arine making her way towards a separate ring with a gleam in her eye. Hmm... that's the Arine I know, it must have been my imagination earlier, she thinks with relief. She also spots both Vesper and Krackle returning from their respective matches; both seem to be overflowing with almost childlike-excitement, and Chrys hides her knowing grin.
"'Fraid I missed both your matches,"she says to them apologetically. "Was too busy teachin' this one fella the joys of kissin' the ground. But ya both did well for yerselves, from the looks o' it! Congratulations!" Before Krackle can scamper off to find Silver, she pushes three rations into his hand. "Here, kid... I want you and Silver to split that up among the two of ya. Berries are good an' fine, but sometimes ya just need some good ol' fashioned meat 'n tack to keep yourself goin'. Make good use o' that, alright?"
Pulling Vesper behind her, the two girls move to the side of the ring to watch Lumen's match as it starts up. The bard puts up a good show, but when it becomes clear that he can't beat his gnomish competitor, she watches him leave the ring in a funk with a little worry. "Vesper,"she whispers to her side. "Ya think maybe ya can pick up the pretty boy's spirits a bit? Yer good at that sorta thing, ain't ya?" She shoos Vesper after Lumen encouragingly. "Do your thing! Ya know, smile, wink, giggle, make 'im feel like a man!"
Hearing the noise of the crowd as Arine steps into her ring, Chrys shoulders her way to the front and begins cheering loudly for her friend. "C'mon, Arine! Kick that one's arse, I know ya can do it!"
Krackle would happily take the rations. "Thanks Chrys! I really appreciate that... here! I can't just take your food... " He would say as he opens his coin pouch. Lookin inside, he would pull out the five gold coins. He would scratch the top of his head as he notices that his fifteen have returned to his pouch. He would then pull those out as well. "Here! I hope this covers it!" He would say with a bigg-eyed toothy grin. "If it doesn't, I can finish paying you back later... is that OK?" He would add while tilting his head and looking slightly nervous.
„That ain‘t how tradin’ works, kid! Better watch that coin purse o’ yours or some slick talker’s gonna end up stealin’ all yer hard-earned winnins! But I get yer point, ya want a fair trade. Here, since ya feel so strongly bout it, I‘ll take 1 of them silver pieces. One fer each ration, an‘ you can tell Silver ta make up the rest when he’s done, since he‘s bigger than you. He needs to carry his weight too, right?“ She winks and gently presses the money back into Krackle‘s tiny palms, folding his knobby knuckles around the coins to make sure he doesn‘t loose any. Then she holds up the one silver piece she kept, makes a show of theatrically biting it to check, gives a satisfactory nod to Krackle, and sticks the coin in her money pouch with a grunt of satisfaction. „Deal‘s a deal. Now go on and cheer Silver on, ya gotta be loud enough to represent the rest o‘ the Pie Pals!“

Anyone walking close by hears him muttering in a mix of orcish and common phrases like, "why'd you bother trying, orc-boy" and "should have just tried to wrestle like your people" and "leave the magic to the smart people" and "maybe it'd be better to go back to the mountains with your tail between your legs and beg them to lift the banishment." He will half-heartedly watch the rest of the tournament, cheering on his new friends but mostly drowning his sorrows in his beer.
It's.... not pretty.
Arine, give me two more acrobatics rolls.
"'Fraid I missed both your matches," she says to them apologetically.
"Vesper," she whispers to her side.
((Ooc: Will do! Acrobatics: 16 18 rerolling the one 12 ))
