If Krackle hears Lumen suggest that they stick together, He would let out a small excited squeel before rushing up next to the half orc. "You wan't help? I can help?" He would add with an eager smile.
Returning to the door in the first, right hand corridor, Lumen does his best to inspect the area for traps or any other potential surprises. He finds nothing out of the ordinary. However, when he puts his ear to the thick wood to listen, he hears a series of muffled voices coming from within, seemingly in argument. He can’t make out of the words, but it does sound lIke at least two voices,
Chrys grips her hammer and gives him a nod. Why not? If they were going to listen to reason at all, they'd be more likely to do it to a half-orc than a dwarven paladin invading their lair, after all. She stands ready to give Lumen some aid should the goblins inside prove hostile.
Lumen cracks open the door less than an inch and looks inside.
He's assuming the voices are arguing in goblin and he can't understand them. His real goal is to see an opening to try to engage them in conversation (in Common) as a half orc who heard there was a really tough group of bandits in the area, and that Pox told him to come in, and learn something about what they're doing and who's in there and who's in charge. (He's already got an aesthetic that, while stylish to some, is best described as brutal to most. He's a punk rock bard, as we've established with his scars, large ugly lute and rough playing style, but he's got some spikes and leather and so this may or may not come across to goblins or other baddies as acceptable.)
His backup goal is to use prestidigitation to distract or confuse the goblins, so he's looking for unlit braziers/candles/etc to light, a blank wall to cause a large image of a scary hooded figure to appear, or potentially just a shower of sparks on the other side of any goblins or humanoids to cause them to turn away from the door. But that won't trigger until I learn at least something about what he sees in the room and/or conversation goes south.
Lumen opens the door a crack and peeks inside. He sees a large chamber that contains about a dozen bed rolls, as well as a few benches and tables, and a large, open barrel. A fire burns in a heavy iron brazier in the corner, while bones and other litter cover the floor.
He also sees 3 goblins who are loudly playing sone sort of dice game near the brazier. As each one rolls, a mix of excited exclamations follows, that seem like a mixture of cheering and arguing.
Lumen pulls out a deck of playing cards (OOC: really thought that bit of starting equipment would never come in handy!) and shows it to the party, then pointing to the door. Then he holds up three fingers. Then he points to himself, and then to the crack in the door. He shrugs and gives a "well, here goes" half-smile.
He starts to turn to enter, but pauses, and looks back to the party and uses his hand to encourage them to back down the hallway toward the main corridor and around the corner out of sight.
He starts to turn to enter again, and then pauses, looking back at Krackle. He uses his eyes and a head wave toward the door to invite him along, giving the others a look that plainly says, "I'm going to regret this, but why not?"
He does then, finally, open the door, with the deck of cards held up. In broken Common, with a thick Orcish accent (how he spoke normally about 8 years ago), he says, "Is this band taking recruits? And oh, does the game have room for more? Pox said this was the place to go. I'm Vork."
Chrys grits her teeth, particularly when Lumen gestures for Krackle, but gives them both a curt nod and retreats back, out of sight, for the time being. It goes against everything in her to "abandon" her friends to the unknown, but if the tussle with Wuzig taught her anything, it's that sometimes she really isn't the right person for the job.
The three goblins stop their game and look over at Lumen as he enters the room with Krackle and presents his introduction. After a pause, they start yammering with excited voices, speaking in goblin. It sounds something like this:
OOC: Chrys your services might be needed sooner than you fear! Yikes that roll! (I'm guessing Lumen hasn't picked up any goblin at all over the years to figure out what kind of words they're using. If he doesn't seem to be persuading them with his words, he's more than happy to shift to intimidation if that's allowed. Otherwise, he'll prepare to call for aid if they're looking to be hostile.)
Krackle would let out a small excited squeel before rushing up next to the half orc. He would put his dirk back into his belt but would keep his hand on his tiny staff "And I'm Krackle" He would say in a voice that was a deep and scary as he could muster.. "You know... like the sound of a bon fire or breaking bones?.... because I am tough" He would add as he opened his hand and casts produce flame.
Vesper waited outside to see if her, Chrys, and Kess would be needed, all the while recalling her earlier knowledge of goblin bravery, or lack thereof. If the goblins inside the room did become hostile, perhaps they might reconsider upon finding out that Lumen brought more than Krackle with him. Especially considering that Chrys and Kess were armored warriors.
The three goblins stand up and eye Lumen with suspicion as he speaks. Their level of uncertainty and apparent distrust seems to be magnified to an even greater extent when Krackle enters and produces his magical flame.
They all pull forth their scimitars and prepare to rush forward, yelling and hissing in their seemingly angry goblin shrieks.
OOC: Need initiative for Lumen and Krackle, and actions for everyone else, who all hear the commotion.

OOC: I think that Lumen was making the offer to help check for traps. I'd take it, but Vesper only has a Perception of +1

Lumen can take the lead on the check for traps for the door (OOC: I forget we don't have a rogue and Lumen might have to help serve that role!).
Perception to check for traps and noise with help from Krackle: 21
If nothing, crack the door open a bit to peek in.
OOC: With the Bard's Jack of all Trades and Expertise, they can easily be as skilled as a rogue.

He pulls out his sword and puts his hand on the door knob and looks at the group questioningly.
