As Krackle moves about the room and claws through the dust and debris, he finds a a large obsidian disk under an old barrel. It’s about 18-inches wide and 1-inch thick.
Meanwhile, Chrys scans the walls and ceiling. She doesn’t see any spiders, 🕷 but she does notice that there’s some text a few inches above the floor on the south wall. The word is HALFGLINT is neatly engraved into the stone.
Chrys points out the word scraped into the south wall. "Anyone got a clue 'bout what that could mean? Maybe someone should inspect that wall."
She rubs her chin. "Halfglint... my first guess is that them goblins couldn't spell half-giant proper... but look at that carvin' precision. Too neat to be the work of half-literate goblin types."
Lumen carefully inspects the strange black disk that Krackle hands over. It’s a solid piece of obsidian, 18 inches in diameter, and 1 inch thick. The stone is perfectly smooth, and it has no marks, scratches, chips, engravings or etchings of any kind.

"Obsidian is usually a stone associated with evil rituals, an' this here looks like an' old evil temple. Better keep that handy, I bet it was once part of somethin' important here. We might find it out as we go,"Chrys tells Lumen and Krackle. "An' at the very least, I'm sure ya can probably get a nice bit o' coin for it, if it's just an ordinary fancy plate."
Chrys leans in to try and inspect the wall near the carving. "Maybe there's somethin' hidden here? Like that statue outside in the hall..."
Reading the letters that are engraved in the wall, and digging through her memory, Vesper cannot recall any lore or historical references that match the word HALFGLINT.
Chrys, please narrate your actions and motions as you inspect the area.
Same goes for future ability rolls. It’s great when everyone gives detailed descriptions to accompany your rolls. It adds flavor, and it also helps me establish exactly what you’re doing so I can better narrate situations, consequences, reactions and responses, and build on the story from my end. 😊
Chrys begins to travel slowly along the wall, tapping it with the handle of her hammer, listening for a difference in the sound of the stone. She runs her fingers over the stone periodically as well, searching for any lines or breaks along the wall with her fingertips.
Lumen hands the plate back to Krackle with a bashful smile and then helps investigate the room by sweeping dust and debris away from the floor with his hands. Are the crates empty? Are they on top of anything like a hatch or a hole?
Lumen conducts an even more thorough search of the room, looking inside each of the crates and even looking underneath them, but he finds nothing of value. The place was obviously looted awhile back, and it would appear that anything that's worth more than a hunk of wood (and the strange obsidian disk) has already been taken.
Meanwhile, Chrys continues her own search, focusing on the walls. Tapping, listening and feeling the stone for any breaks in the stone or hidden panels. Just below the engraving, her fingers detect a very fine seam that's all but invisible to the eye. Tracing her fingers further in that part of the wall, she discovers that there are actually four seams that form a square outline in the otherwise smooth carved obsidian wall.

Kess would just stare at the name, straining her mind as she began to filter through her mental archives. Halfglint... Halfglint... Maybe...? I don't know... It's possible it's just a mispelling lke Vesper is saying, but.... urgh!
Something about that strange black plate also bugged Kess; it was a hunch, but given the symbols she had seen earlier... was anything making sense?
Krackle would watch while his companions continue to examine the disk. Occasionally wondering around the room a bit as they continue their searches and investigations.
Lumen stands up, frustratedly brushing he dust off his hands.
"Well, I don't see anything valuable hidden in here. Let's get going."He begins to grab his stuff and head toward the door. Then he pauses, seeing Chrys examining the wall.

"Huh," Chrys replies. "Guys... think I found a hidden door here." She points out the frame with her hands, then takes both of them and pushes against the outline, trying to see if the stone will move.
Strength Check: push against the rectangular outline: 8
(Oy door or not I think I just broke the wall LOL)

"I found a dinner plate!" Krackle would shout excitedly as he struggles to stuff the large obsidian disk into his pack.
"Okay, that's weird. Is there anything else in there or should we get going?"

Lumen picks up all of the crates and broken debris and looks underneath for anything notable inside or underneath.
He then says with a grin, “wow would you mind if I look at that amazing plate, Krackle?”
He pores over the disc and looks for any inscription, markings, temperature difference, covered portions, or anything magical at all.
"OK! Here ya go" Krackle would reply as he hands over the obsidian disk.
"I've never heard of there being any half-giants out there, so I don't think it's that. Maybe it's a name or a password."
