"Good job guys! Nice job moving those squiggly symbols around!" Krackle would exclaim as he pats his companions on the hips. When Vesper suggests that they go east, The small brass scaled kobold would nod his head up and down in agreement. "East sounds good!"
Lumen walks along the hallway, grin fading as everyone moves on. "Kess, you seem to know a lot about this goddess and the temple -- does halfglint or nightfall mean anything to you?"
"Nightfall is from a season of wickedness to Shar's secretive followers," Kess shook her head in revulsion as she regarded the shrine for a moment. "It's a foul ritual that they practice during a holy day they call the Festival of the Moon. They engage in abominable practices to honor the Dark Lady, such as live sacrifice or other depraved and wretched things. If there is a reference to Nightfall here, I would not be shocked if we find the roots of their labors deeper within. Let's be cautious; who knows what is sealed in here."
Retracing your steps, you return to the main hallway, where you turn left and continue along until you reach the T intersection.
The air seems to be getting thicker and cooler as you traverse deeper into the underground temple, and by
now, the dim, patchy light has turned to full darkness. Being past sunset above ground, there is no more light shining down through the widely spaced ceiling shafts.
You decide to turn right and walk down the right hand hallway. It narrows a bit, like the other corridors you’ve explored so far, and runs for about 80 feet before branching left and going straight.
The left passage is another long hallway that appears to run beyond 60 feet, which is the limit of your darkvision. Going straight, the passages continues for about 20 more feet before opening into another chamber.
You don’t hear any sounds coming from the room, but you see a flickering green light shining from within. Right at the entrance, you see some letters crudely scrawled into the floor that appear to be two words written in dwarvish runes.
(If anyone can read Dwarvish letters, this is what it says)
Chrys squints her eyes at the runes. "I don't suppose any o' you can read goblin, can ye?" She sighs. "I got a feelin' those runes mean bad business. We can try throwin' my trapinator on it, or passin' a mage hand o'er it. I don't recommend steppin' on them runes 'till we know what they do, though."
Awesome map, Chrys, but one small correction. I‘m sorry, but I made a navigational description error.
At the T, the left passage goes 80 feet before turning 90 degrees left. Then it runs for another 60 feet before the intersection where it goes either left into the dark or 20 feet straight to the runes/green glowing room.
Vesper’s magical hand floats through the air over the runes, but nothing happens. The hand passes into the room, unimpeded. To be extra thorough, she also directs the hand to brush over the runes with a bit of weight, and even press down into the letters, but again, nothing happens.
(no, we can go, I just got waylaid by coronavirus logistical concerns before I could finish my post, sorry >__< )
“Well, here goes gree akjha,"Chrys mutters under her breath, taking her warhammer in hand and stepping over the runes. She motions for the others to stay back as she pauses, waiting to see if any evil enchantments descend upon her after crossing the runes.
Chrys crosses over the etched runes, and fortunately, nothing happens. Upon entering she finds herself in a circular chamber, about 50 feet in diameter, with a high, domed ceiling. A large stone pool, three feet high and a dozen feet across, dominates the center of this room. The water inside glows with a flickering, green light while a pallid mist curls about the floor.
Krackle would follow behind Chrys. Looking up towards the domed ceiling and then towards the pool... He would whisper. "This place is fancy... fancier than I thought.." He would take a few steps towards the pool and approach the edge. "I thought there would be more goblins.. Pox said there were more" He would add as he scratches the top of his head.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Chrys clutches her hammer tighter, not liking the looks of the mist rising from the pool. "Keep yer eyes peeled," she tells the others quietly. "This place ain't right."
Chrys is looking out for jump-scare type dangers in the corners, along the walls, the ceiling, and of course... from that pool! Perception: 5

"I'll keep my Mage Hand ready, but let me take a look at it." Said Vesper, also squinting at the runes, trying to see if they correspond to anything.

Does this make sense?
Lumen will bend down, squinting at the runes, trying to help Vesper notice anything interesting about their arcane qualities...
OOC: Yes. I also think that it's too late for Lumen to assist Vesper in looking at the runes.
Unable to gain any useful information about the runes, Vesper will send her Mage Hand over the runes while remaining a safe distance away.

OOC: That map is really getting along nicely now. Does anyone want to do some more testing or are we good to go?

Relieved that nothing bad happened while they entered the room, Vesper keeps her distance and tries to figure out what is causing that pool to glow.

Lumen looks around for any alcoves, openings, entrances, exits, or items around the outside of the room, steering clear of the pool for now.
