Jax would see some of his Virnen and Squall struggling to hide under the tarp and work to help them get positioned properly before tightening down the tarp. "Allow me to assist in your camouflage" He would say calmly as the light on his face is extinguished and he finishes helping his companions hide. Once he is satisfied that they are hidden, Jax would move around next to the boat and curl up in a ball so that his whole body is covered in his black leather jacket. His buckler shaped head would fold down a bit. Under his leather jacket, his hand would continue to rest on his revolver in the hope that the dark metal figure under a leather jacket might not be easily noticed.
Stealth! 11
OOC: I was hoping to help grant advantage to the others in hiding because he was staying out of the tarp to make sure it looked good before hiding himself.
The party begins to scrambles down the slope of the stone wall. Precariously sliding down towards the magma river as you begin to spread out, Squall is having difficulty maneuvering the sheet overhead. Quickly Jax moves over and is able to bring the sheet overhead as he collapses down into his compacted form, dirt and ash covered cloak draped over top of him.
You here the groups of the Blackscales rush to where you once stood. Desperately you try to quiet or hold your breath, hoping not to move and give away your location. You hear guttural throaty voices speaking their archaic draconic commands. Tara is able to make out the root word “To search for”. You hear the footsteps spread out and begin to slide down the slope as you once did. The taloned claws begin combing through and lifting the canvases from the boats. Immediately Virnen and Squall are greeted to the scorching hot light from under their hiding spot, Jax is found too as one of the Blackscales spears accidentally scraped his form and let’s out a loud metallic clang.
The lizard folk begin to surround the three with their weapons branded, not attacking, but holding watch and ready for anything. In the moment of panic that Tara and Lucky hear while they remain hidden. Tara is able to decipher one more phrase as same lizard continues to bark orders “Others.”

Salqwyn "Squall" d'Lyrandar / Half-elf Sorcerer
Salqwyn lets out a short shriek as the tarp is pulled away. Holding her hands out to show she unarmed, which incidentally also displays her dragon mark clearly. ”We mean no harm. We apologize for the intrusion. We came down seeking a creature that tried to kill us. A shapeshifter.”
Virnen will plead with them in Draconic, holding up his hands to show peace. "My companion is right. If you let us find our quarry, we will leave you in peace. You have my word."

Jax would stand upright when he is found with his head still pointed downward. Electricity would arc between his metallic fingers on his left hand as he levels his large black glowing revolver in the other. The red runes running along the barrel would glow in the dark as he levels the weapon towards the heart of the lizardfolk. "I will not be captured." Jax would say as he looks up towards the enemy, the bright red light from his lens reflecting off the scales of the enemy. "We are searching for a doppleganager. do not force me to kill you"

Tara bites her lip and thinks fast. With a quick twist of her hands, Ourelonastrix's blessing settles over her, the blue glow visible for only a moment before she rises from beneath the tarp. She locks eyes with the lizardfolk who was giving orders and barks something in Draconic, keeping it simple to maximize the chance of it getting across.
Draconic:
"As the elf said, do not slow us, we act for the guardian of Haka'torvhak. We hunt an enemy of the Voice of the Cold Sun. A shapechanger."
As she speaks, she taps her armor, and the silver dragon scales take on a dark light.
Deception (if Persuasion, no change in result, if Intimidation, subtract 2): 13+3=15
Lucky remains perfectly still and silent, other than to tap his Recording Stone to get it working. At least mom will know what happened to me,he thinks to himself grimly, and then changes his mind and taps the stone again. Actually, maybe I don't want my family hearing what's about to happen if this goes wrong.
The group of Blackscales are somewhat startled by Tara’s display and announcement. They hold their spears towards the group, engulfing and circling them as they cautiously wait. Jax’s words fall on deaf ears as they don’t understand what he is saying, but they all jump back once he raises his pistol. They begin to cock their heads to the side and hiss.
It seems a stalemate as the Blackscales are hesitant to Attack someone that evokes their deity. A break in the crowd of Lizardfolk makes way to give a female come to the edge of the circle. It’s the female from the ceremony, that made the sacrifice. Looking directly at Tara while ignoring others in the room. Anyone who speaks draconic understands:
”Why should we believe you come from Haka'torvhak after all these years? His champion comes in the form of a... Topsider?” She says with an aggressive tone. You get the feeling you’ve bought yourself one opportunity to convince her you’re not a detriment to the clan.
Tara keeps her head high and stares the lizardwoman down, her response quick and confident.
Draconic:
"Times have changed and the world with it, and the soft skinned races have spread across the continent above. Had a blackscale traveled here from Haka'torvhak, they would have been discovered, and inferior as softskins are, they can still use force of numbers to halt the Guardian's plans. I wear the scales of Rhashaak's enemies. I bear the fang of the dragon at my side. I know of the Voice of the Cold Sun, whose very name few topsiders are ever graced to hear. What more do you need?"
She gestures at the dragon fang dagger hanging at her side, eyes never leaving the lizardfolk in front of her.
OOC: Technically, like 99% of what Tara just said is true...XD
Seeing that Tara’s words had some effect that had kept them from being immediately attacked Squall tried to add what calm she could. “Jax please lower your weapon. Let Tara speak to them.“ She hopes her voice sounded calmer than she felt.
Jax would turn his head slowly to Squall, illuminating her face with red light before turning back to the female lizardfolk and holstering his revolver. His hand would remain hidden under his thick leather jacket however as his other hand continued to spark with electricity.
The priestess pauses as she for a moment at Tara’s words. She looks around and let’s out a long his to to group of Lizardfolk at attention with their spears pointed at the group. The immediately lower their spears. Not sheathing them, but less on guard.
The Priestess says “I am Raksa, you and your people shall be my guests. Come...... we feast.” The Lizardfolk partway allowing the group to walk alongside the priestess. Still under heavy escort. She begins to lead you back down the new tunnel you haven’t been in yet.
(Does Lucky pop out and follow along, or remain hidden?)
Salqwyn "Squall" d'Lyrandar / Half-elf Sorcerer
"Unless one of you have some other plan we could all try to hide on that boat."
Squall point to the nearest boat with a tarp and starts to move carefully toward it.

Lucky pops out with a sheepish grin, gives an informal salute to Tara, and follows along.
