Upon being placed in the door, the stone sits well in place. And after a moment, the door goes downward, into the floor. Inside is actual stonework, versus the earthy cave you all entered. It has more of a temple feel now, rather the caverns dirty walls and floors. Although a layer of dust sits on the wall, its obvious to even the untrained eye that there have been quite a bit of foot traffic on the stairs going downward from the stone door.
(Is it lit, or dark? If it's lit, Kastor will lead the way down. If not, he'll let someone with darkvision go first rather than casting a light spell.)
As the party comes to the end of the stairs, it opens up to an open long room with raised stone tables, some with corpses and some without. The few that do have corpses have several tools near them and some of the corpses are being wrapped. Above is numerous stalactites the try to reach into the room. Further into the room, both Sylvester and Kastor can see a robed individual toil away at a table, grabbing and handing things to the zombies beside him. He does not notice the party at the entrance of the room.
You can notice on sides that the stone floor elevates to another level in the room. Like the cave from before, on the upper levels are holes for wrapped bodies. It overlooks the main floor of the room and looks to extend up to the robed man as well. The robed man is about 90 feet away.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Sylvester whisper to the party let’s try not to be seen or heard, let’s make our way to the upper level if we can. Maybe we can get a drop on the figure.
(Remember, Nikola is back at the entrance since I only bot if they leave in the middle of a fight. Afterwards, their chars will remain in the same spot unless I killed them, otherwise, they'll fulfill the role of using up their spell slots and giving up their useful inventory.)
(No need for a stealth roll until 30 feet near the robed man, he is preoccupied with whatever is at the table.)
Sylvester will as quietly as possible investigate the burial holes for anything useful. Otherwise he will try to get in to a position to get a better look at what the robed figure is doing and to potentially surprise them with an attack. Sylvester will flank to the left.
(Actually perception so I just added 2 to your roll)
The robed figure looks to be packing things. From what you can see, most of it are scrolls, books and some minor tools. The zombies by him seem to be carrying the bulk of it.
Kastor nods to Sylvester, whilst pointing his finger to his own chest and mouthing, "Me first". He then prepared to cast Ice Knife, going to be able to catch the robed figure and his zombies together before they can react.
And with swiftness, the party acts. Kastor's spell connects with the robed man and implodes. Though the implosion only hits one zombie, the other cannot avoid the rest of the party. As Brozznan sends a crossbolt to the zombie that somehow dodged. It pierces through its head as it drops its cargo, letting books and scrolls loose upon the floor. Sylvester darts in with both daggers slicing the man.
The man is still standing but the other zombie is unscathed.
