A little bit of food and a cup of tea never hurts, Al-Ashari just finished her meal and was ready to go. "We probably do not need to enter the library by conventional means. Kale, you still remember that spell that saved us in the Asylum?"
Merric thought Al-Ashari was very wise and meal absolutely never went to waste, or two or three for that matter. He was just finishing his second plate of sandwiches and bowl of stew...he hadn't inquired too closely about the meat for either...when the lady (The wee lass probly don't like being called a lass.) finished her meal. He swallowed the last spoonful of stew, gulped down the last of his mead, wiped his mouth, belched into his handkerchief (It's not like we among other halflings) and stood.
"A fine repast, me fren' Cicero. Quite fine. I thank ye." He tossed the man a few silvers then turned to the others. "So, are we off to the library by the streets, or to the dungeon by the Stairs?"
"Seems like we are thinking the library is our best option." Lia says with a nod to Al-Ashari. She glances to Kale. "What spell would this be that saved you before?"
"If we can find the map in the library, we can navigate the stairs. It does make sense to at least try to retrieve the map. As unpleasant as it sounds, I say - library."
She checked if her improvised umbrella (Servant+cape) was dry enough (the cape part) and explained to Lia: "The Ethereal spell. We - whoever is going there - search the place from the other side, from Ethereal plane. When the object - the map in our case - is found we step in, grab it, return to Ethereal plane and get out of the building. It did work in Asylum, and that place is a nest of mind flayers."
"Good luck." Cicero says with an amused grunt. "The library is infinite, endless as a matter of fact, it will take you a decent amount of time to find anything. The only real, fast, way to find things in there is to find one of the library assistants and ask them for help." He nods to Al-Ashari. "I know I said no one works there, what I meant is no one from the city works there, the assistants are more a part of the library than people of the city." He shrugs. "You will see if you can find one. It is hard to explain."
"But of course," Kale answers. "You should be careful about it though. A hand once played rarely works twice. I certainly wouldn't use it again to try to infiltrate the Asylum. The Library might not be expecting outerplanar visitors, though. And... I can only do it once, and only for two of you. Everyone else will have to enter the Library the ordinary way. As for popping in and out... I'm the only one who will be able to do that. Once you enter the ethereal plane, you're there until you leave. There's no two way ticket in or out with my spell."
"I can still teleport us back, if we are in a dire need. We never tried it, but teleportation in general works. Lia also has her Interdimentional door. Though, that means the one who goes in the library to check the things out first must be you and either me or Lia."
"I be...unhappy with the idea o' splittin' the group. We did it at the asylum but that happened to us, we didn' choose. We be havin' no idea if the library or anythin' inside the library can be seein' the etheral, or be affectin' it. Good Cicero be sayin' the library be endless which be tellin' me some dimensional tricks be happen'. My vote be for all o' us goin' in together. In a pinch, the mirror be capable o' bringing us back here. And, besides, we be pretty dangerous as a group, I be thinkin'." Merric wonders if it is as odd for his companions to hear his voice coming from a tiefling body as it is for him to look in the mirror.
"Then let's hope the mirror will be enough to save us in the worst of the situations." Surprisingly agreeable Al-Ashari arranged her "umbrella" and was the first to step outside of the Tavern.

Merric nods a farewell to Cicero and follows the ladies out, adjusting his magical goggles as he does so. "Alright, me fine ladies. What say we find some readin' material," he says with a grin...which he immediately regrets as he feels his sharp tiefling canines. "Me apologies, ladies. That was suppose' tuh be a frenly grin. I'm hopin' it looks the same on this tiefling visage o' mine."
As they head out, Merric takes the lead as always, scanning with this eyes and listening with his ears.

Al-Ashari slightly raise a brow in a pleasant surprise - who would think a change of shape can affect the manners: "I would say the smile looked quite convincing, you should not worry about it."
While they all were walking she informed him and Lia about an event they did not witness: "There is another place with books in it. First day we appeared here we caught a boy who managed to steal a book from that library. He was going to sell it. The book was about card tricks for kids or something like this. Do not think it matters much and the book disappeared with the mage anyway, but so you know there were people who could get out of the library. It is not completely hopeless."

Whitegaze finishes whatever food had been set in front of him, "Why not the library by way of the stairs? We still need to find that creature."
Cicero shakes his head. "You cannot get to the library from the stairs. There is no entrance there."

"We also have the mirror." Lia reminds the group.
The fetching mirror is able to do word of recall once without any components. The target is always Cicero's bar.
How often?

Once per day.
Is everyone set on going to the library as a group then?
(We are definitely going, the question is - how)

Rain is still falling, a downpour. Thunder is still rolling, making it hard to hear.
(Yes sight and hearing is at disadvantage.)
Whitegaze will follow at the rear of the group, ready for a fight if needed.
