"I think we've got the shifts sorted," Kale says. "The only other suggestion I have is that we all bunk down in the same room, privacy issues aside. It may be a little uncomfortable, but at least we'll know immediately on waking if any one of us fell victim to another surprise teleport to a new plane while dreaming. If we can even dream here anymore."
After instructing the choker to wait outside and guard the entrance to the house, Kale walks in with the others.
"Hmm... it's pleasant here," he says. "Although it looks like the surprise that might be awaiting whoever used to live here won't be so pleasant," he adds, helping himself to some of the food in the kitchen.
Kale takes it upon himself to snoop around the house, looking for anything of value and quietly pocketing it: Investigation: 19
He also takes a moment to study each room, trying to glean the kind of people who lived here and the atmosphere that Thursday grew up in, so he can try to better understand her and her motivations: Insight: 22
As Thursday is a grown woman the kids that lived here most recently wouldn't be at all associated with her in any way.
For items you can find anything you think appropriate for a group of children from the ages of 6 to 16. Nothing of value though.
Only moments after coming into the house there is a cry from outisde, which Kale recognizes as the choker.
The night passes uneventfully, for this place, sounds from outside alarming, but seeming somehow far off and not at all affecting your ability to sleep soundly.
Upon spending a full night here, you all become aware that the place is somehow protected from the city and its inhabitants. You can consider this place a Tiny Hut, but larger, and that the only way to get into the place is if Thursday is with you. The place is keyed to her.
After having a full rest, what do you plan to do next? You have a destination, but no idea of how to get there. Do you look for a shop, a pub, or something else to get directions?
As Whitegaze wakes and packs up his belongings before donning his armor and gear, the rest of you notices he's wearing finer clothes than the previous day, "Figured if we're going to see a noblewoman, I should dress the part. I vote finding a tavern for breakfast and directions, anyone have a better idea?"
As Kale puts his things together for travel, he replies "I agree. Food first, and we can find directions to the Crooked House." He takes out his bandore and strums a tune on it as he takes a last look around Thursday's House.
"Gods know what is hiding in this world of little consequence, Behind the tears, inside the lies, a thousand slowly dying sunsets... Gods know what is hiding in those weak and drunken hearts, I guess that loneliness came knocking - No one needs to be alone!
Oh, people, help the people, and if you're homesick, give me your hand and I'll hold it, People help the people, and nothing will drag you down! Oh, and if we had a brain, oh and if we had a brain, We'd be cold as the stones and rich as the fools Who turned all those good hearts away..."
His tune carries through the eaves of the house, filling the entire place with a slightly melancholic melody of homesickness, yet it also contains an undercurrent of hope - you can sense it vibrating through the air, the bond that this place of hardship has formed between your unlikely team of adventurers. As you listen to the song, you feel bolstered to face today with a new strength.

(Question: the book is indeed absolutely unremarkable "children stories" without any notes and stories titles do not matter?
The book looks shabby and is in a state of disrepair. This is the only surviving complete and undoctored copy of the Tales. The tales are fairy tales no doubt meant to entertain children. Summaries of each are below. In each chapter, notes have been made in a scribbled hand.
1. In the first tale, a bull rages free from his cage and escapes into the night, killing his captor. 2. In the second tale, a hummingbird falls asleep on the stove and burns to death. 3. In the third tale, a woman throws her own husband down the stairs, killing him. 4. In the fourth, a ball of fire is extinguished by the rain. 5. In the fifth, two twins try and seek their fortune through music, but one dies of disease. 6. In the sixth, a badger is routed out from under a house by foxes, and slain. 7. In the seventh, a skull is found under the floorboards, and explodes into flame. 8. In the eighth, a huntsman is devoured by his own pack of dogs. 9. In the ninth, a wolf eats a grandma, but gets indigestion and dies. 10. In the tenth, a dragon is crushed by the weight of all their gold. 11. In the eleventh, a rose blooms too early, and is killed by the frost. 12. In the twelfth, a girl meets a cat with eyes as big as saucers. 13. In the last, a spider flees the rain, but only causes it to build up on a roof and wash his home away.
Thursday wakes, she takes a knee with her rapier in hand point in the ground. She squeezes her eyes tightly and forces out the words, "I wish for a magical armory with enough magical items and weapons and armor to outfit an entire battalion."

Surprised, Kale braces himself, saying "Thursday, usually I'd say you're hopeless, but it does actually feel refreshing to see that someone here hasn't given up on hope yet."
Thursday keeps her eyes shut tight trying to block out everything else. She keeps one thing constant, in her mind's eye she imagines a new room tacked onto the orphanage. With walls of armor and swords and artifacts, wands, and robes, and cloaks, clothes, gems... everything she's ever heard of in her travels about magic in her travels.

Thursday wakes, she takes a knee with her rapier in hand point in the ground. She squeezes her eyes tightly and forces out the words, "I wish for a magical armory with enough magical items and weapons and armor to outfit an entire battalion."
Thursday hears the voice from the well at the end of her wish... "So mote it be..." It says.
When Thursday opens her eyes a new door has formed inside her room. That door leads to a pocket armory. There are hundreds of mundane weapons, mundane armor, and a variety of magical items.
The way the magic item part will work is as this... You may roll a percentile dice, with the difficulty set by the rarity of the item you are trying to get out of the armory. Common is an auto success, uncommon is a 80% success, rare is a 60% success, very rare is a 40% success, and legendary is a 20% success.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Kale peers into the room, surprised that it actually worked. Even without the weapons seeming to be very magical at all, they're still a good many of them. "Well, at least we won't run out of throwing daggers anytime soon," he notes. He takes a closer look around to see if he can find a circlet of blasting.

Soveliss will make one as well, since he doesn't actually need to sleep and is just mediating for 4 hours before choosing to study their surrounding.
Perception: 12
Lunastra was used to sleeping on an erratic schedule and was perfectly comfortable with taking a shift during the rest.
