Merric shakes his head at the sudden confusion in it. His eyes narrow. Then they close.
And he drops into a fighting crouch, weight forward, ears keen for any movement. He knew the sounds of his friends, their steps and treads, their breathing, the sounds their weapons and spells made.
Anything else was, potentially, a target.
still need your int save, as you had not closed eyes before this...

He already failed. That’s why I mentioned confusion in the post
Isn‘t whitegaze grappled (and inspired with an extra d12 if he needs to break it)? he got hit by a tentacle with a 26 attack, readied an action to hit the mirror, not the tentacle, amd merric destroyed al ashari‘s tentacle from what I read in the IC thread, regardless of discussions in the ooc thread). He can also use his Cecilia inspo to not be frightened anymore...
Forgot about being grappled, and lets see if the inspiration is enough to meet that int save dc.
Inspiration die: 10
So that should have been enough to beat that save, for now. For his turn then, he’ll attack the tentacle gripping him and any remaining attacks against the mirror itself.

It Tolls For Thee [Init 20] Each round, a wave of extraplanar terror radiates from the crack in the mirror. Characters within sight of the mirror must succeed on a Wisdom saving throw [DC 21] or become Frightened of the mirror until their next turn.
spider save ... 36 Need saves from anyone who is able to see the mirror. Al-Ashari does not need to make this save, the fetching mirror protects her.
Grasp Of That Which Waits. [Init 15] Shadowy tendrils burst forth from the mirror and lash out at any character within 120 feet of the mirror.
Including an advantage roll below in case you are not looking at the mirror, to keep from being affected by it's fear and madness effects. If so the attacks have advantage. Mericc, the attack has advantage against you simply due to you being stunned.

Rolled at disadvantage because he’s still afraid.
You slice into the tentacle, but do not cut it away, just damage it. It is looking worse-for-the-wear though.
