With hardly a whisper to mark their passage, the party passes through the staircase, which after a single rotation, opens into a large square chamber, 80 ft to each side with a 30 ft ceiling. Visibility is highly obscured however, by towering piles of miscellaneous belongings - assorted pieces of furniture and furnishings, the half-finished contraptions of long dead generations, journals, articles of clothing, chests, cabinets, moth-eaten carpets, and even a few partially shattered sets of crockery. Winding paths navigate the clutter, weaving around the taller piles and over the smaller, more sturdy ones. As you all enter the room, you hear a sonorous rumbling sound that seems to come from the far back right corner of the room. a dull amber light emanates from the same corner of the room.
Anansi focuses and shortens the two blades in his hands so that they're more suited for throwing. He then moves off to the left of Salazar's path, creeping towards the corner as well.

The two rogues stealthily creep forward, approaching from different angles around one of the larger piles. Before you, you see a misshapen creature. It has a roughly cylindrical body with three legs and three arms, each of which end in powerful-looking claws. The creature has no neck to speak of, as the top of the cylinder resolves into a gaping toothy maw, around which are set three dull eyes. At the moment, its back is turned to you, as it seems to be intent on some object in the very corner of the room. Between the slowly shifting appendages, Salazar can just make out the source of light - a full-length mirror, into which both creatures have turned their gaze. The sonorous rumbling clearly comes from the creature, partly as it shifts its weight on its stubby legs and partly from its great mouth. Now that you are closer, however, there is a little more to see. Confused sounds, images. Make an intelligence check (DC 15) to parse out the emanations. That goes for the rest of the party as well. Our rogues in the fore, however, may roll with advantage due to proximity.
Anansi holds up around his side of the pile and tries to see if he can communicate with Salazar (range 30 ft). Telepathically he says, "What are your thoughts on the beast here? I don't know if we can reason with it but I'm not sure we need to kill it."

Salazar looks at the creatures and thinks loudly back towards Anansi. I’d rather not try our luck, they killed the gnomes to get access to this stuff, and it seems they are distracted by the mirror. I’d rather shoot first in this instance
Lets proceed with caution, whatever is locked in here will be aware the way out is now open
"I like these blades! But yes, I think caution is best right now." Anansi moves off ahead of the group, moving as quietly as he can.

Gadus dismisses Bekate from his perch on the large door into a pocket dimension before summoning him to his arm.

Anansi looks over at the other rogue and draw his hand back to throw the blade in his hand. Telepathically he says, "On your lead then."
Quickly he messages the others. "We're about to engage the creature. Get ready."
