Tarkkin: By the end of your performance, the kids are gathering sticks and bits of string to make their own homemade bows. The one young adult who was watching, a woman named Penny you think with startling white hair, is hurriedly making blunted arrows for the kids and gives you a somewhat scathing lecture on safety measures for those under the age. Apparently baseline human eyes were much more prone to being poked out by rough play according to her. As for your efforts constructing a training ground, some people came by to give a glance at what you were doing, returning your waves to your delightment, but sadly no-one stuck around, as they were busy with their own tasks. You finished it the morning of the council meeting, and you eagerly told the other's right before the council meeting, letting Shepard and Gerder hurriedly add it to the itinerary.
White Wolf: You spend the rest of your week trying to fully immerse yourself int the role of religious leader. As it turns out, the world having a pantheon of new gods who could ascend from enough people believing hard enough lead to some extreme bloat in the pantheons, and you think you've heard more names of Saints, Demigods, New Gods, and Old God's this week then anytime else in your life. The journal that the Wilfrena, the previous late pastor's wife gave you was helpful, if only to provide a notebook to try and record all these folktales. By the time of the next council meeting, your head's still swimming with knowledge and the notebook's nearly filled up. And you barely got to tell other people about Ilmater in the excitement and confusion of learning!
Tine: As you sadly find out, none of the local town's people know all that much about the mines other then it gave a pretty constant output of gold every week. It seems like all the people in the know were the town's previous police force who... managed the earth elemental, who most of town were told were mindless constructs by the mayor. The acne ridden teenager said that he only recently joined the police force, and never got any shifts working the mines so he's just as useless as the general townsfolk. Lavender's Gate is almost equally as frustrating, the most interesting nugget you learned was that there supposedly was a powerful druid who was what the town considered the de facto leader and military presence. As for your plan... The town wasn't the best position strategically. The forests and river to the north were the only semi defensible positions, the pretty open ocean shore was basically open market for any navel invasions, and the plains to the south were flat as a pancake. Some stories in songs you can remember talk of grand wizards and sorcerers shaping the landscape to better protect their homes, but nobody in town has the firepower for any feats like that. Forts, outposts and tower's could work. Make of that what you will for drafting your big plan.
Ashlin: You feel like your on a first name basis for all the named town's people listed in the important NPC's Sheet. One of the biggest issues is that everyone was always so busy, so proper conversation could only take place in the small breaks between work. Work that unfortunately sent you tumbling off a roof. At least Harvey, your gruff construction supervisor got a laugh out of it. A lot of the talking you did was actually with DJ as he described what little he knew of running a tavern from what his old boss complained about to him over the few months they worked together.
Council Meeting
The Second Council Meeting takes place in the same warehouse as the first. It seems Shepard and Gerder have designated themselves as aides to the mayor Falros and helps him and any other pertinent council members take stock over changes the town has undergone through the week, and made neat little files of everything important to know.
(Important Change File Here)
Current Week Moved To: Second Week of the Typhoon Moon.
Population Change: None
Construction Completed: 2 Housing Units for 2 units of population. There was only 1 mandated, but many council members spent personal free time helping citizens out, so there are currently no homeless civilians. Due to actions of Tarkkin, Shoddy Training Ground has been added to Major Town Buildings. Upgrading Shoddy Training Grounds can be found under Town Improvements as Basic Training Ground, which unlocks Military Subsection.
Resource Management: 5 Food consumed this week (4 from population, 1 from Festival), 4 food gained from 2 made from mandated hunting, and 2 food from combined Hunting and Fishing from Council Members. This resulted in 3 food currently in reserve.
Industry= 2 Industry was spent for The Mandated Housing, and 1 Mandate gained 1 Industry. However, due to Council Members helping out both construction and salvaging, you have successfully found and constructed a additional unit of housing. Overall, 2 Industry is left in reserve after building 2 Full Units of Housing.
No Gold Change has Occurred this Week.
Happiness Change= Due to housing being constructed for all civilians, unhappiness from homelessness is been converted over to unhappiness at cramped living conditions. Many non-family have been grouped in the same houses until extra have been built, and some people who would have liked to move houses do not have the option. The town will suffer -1 unhappiness if the current amount of houses equals the amount of population. Having excess housing will solve this cramping issue. The town will gain a temporary +5 to happiness for all Typhoon Moon's from now on that celebrate with a yearly festival, starting now. Total happiness is now equal to 0.

Shepard and Gerder seem to be in agreement that all of you should represent the town as the Champions for the Earth Elemental Trials. You are of course to disagree but (OCC: This will be a traditional dungeon and dragons dungeon, to get more varied game-play and some combat in, so I highly recommend everyone participate as who knows who long in real life this may take, not to mention experience for leveling up and magical items and such) the elders tell you the dangers of underestimating an issued challenge like this from an unknown political entity. If you choose to go, all surviving council members would only get 1 free time action for the coming week. That's all the two say about the story event for this week, other than perhaps some investigation into the feeling of being watched haunting the town may be in order. The rest of the council meeting is open to talks of Mandates and other concerns over the town's future.
Tarkkin offers up his own small piece, "I-I suggested last time that we train the orphans....but earlier this week a girl made me remember that I'm very different from you all." He kind looks down at that and gets quiet, but after a moment shakes his head and looks back up, "S-SO I APOLOGIZE!....I grew u-up....differently, so I wanted everyone to not be afraid of being attacked....that being said, instead of training children, I was thinking I could hold a weekly training session? I made the field for it, so I thought, people who wanted to learn how to defend themselves could come and train....w-with me....is that better?" He looks to the others for their thoughts.
(Thank you Penny for that small character development XD) (Also, the idea of the "self-defense classes" is to essentially teach interested villagers how to be improv militia (aka. minute-men), if not, to at least buff up some citizens so that they aren't killed as easily. It could also be a way for PCs who want to gain levels in Fighter or something to RP learning it somewhere XP)
"Really great work this past week everyone, I have been really impressed by all of you. Our citizens have also held themselves quite admirably," Dainar says after the briefing of the villages status.
"I am eager to test my mettle in this challenge and look forward to working with all of you again in battle. Before that however is our mandates. We are in a fairly decent place in regards to food but I would still like to be even more prepared. I believe we should task 20 citizens (2 CP) to food gathering and 20 citizens (2 CP) to collecting industry resources (wood, etc). This will allow us"to be prepared to start building something akin to the previously discussed library or even a hunters lodge or town farm as examples."
"I agree that we are in a decent spot for food, but I think we should have some of the citizens farm. This will leave us in a bit of a bind right now, but will lead to us having plentiful food later on. Some of us on the council could go out and hunt for food to pick up the slack for now. I think a good breakdown would be 10 citizens (1 CP) to gather food, 20 citizens to farm (2 CP) and 10 to collect wood (1 CP)."
He looks around at the other members as he talks about his plan.
"As for the elementals, I would also like to come help with that. I also have been getting reports of strange sightings at night and a feeling of being watched. I intend to spend part of my time this week investigating that."
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
"That seems fine to me." michael agrees. "It seems that, while cramped, everyone does have a shelter over their head now. Putting some extra effort into food and industry seems logical to me." He holds up the strange paper he found and nods to it. "I will be trying to learn more about this strange paper, and will accompany those who answer the challenge."
Freetime activity: Learn waht he can about the strange paper.
The White Wolf addresses Tarkkin. "Don't worry - I grew up differently too. We can become more than that - and you're doing a great job by training volunteers to defend themselves."
He goes on to the rest of the group. "I plan to hunt again this week, like I did last week, but you can never depend too much on such things or you'll end up starving. I have to agree that we should wait on farming for awhile. At least until we have reserves to last us through the delay in incoming food."
"As for the earth elementals' trials... I'm not really one for combat, but I'll come along regardless. I have other skills that may be useful. Just know that I... I don't fight well."
Winni addresses the group again. "I understand your concerns, but as it stands our reserves aren't increasing. At the least we should then do 2 hunting, 1 farm and 1 industry. We will never get ahead of the food issue if we don't."
Takkin perks up towards Wolf's words and smiles with his eyes, sitting up a little straighter than usual. He nods towards Wolf, almost relived he wasn't completely ignored or rejected, "T...Thank you." He sighs, then returns to the focus of the meeting, a little more confident.
"I agree that food right now, is important, but having a bounty of food is important for the future. It won't stay warm forever, and I don't know if it snows here, but even if it doesn't we need to store more food than what we can simply gather or hunt. At the very least, keeping ten (1 CP) civilians on maintaining the crops we have should be a constant." He realizes he's been going on a tangent, and tugs on his hood, "So I think....I'm for Winnie's proposal."
Falros carefully listens to everyone's proposals and counter proposals before he speaks up, "First, I just want to say that while we can all probably agree the town isn't where we'd like it to be, it is certainly better than it was and I have every reason to believe that with our hard work and the towns peoples' good will it will keep getting better. I also will put my support behind Winni's adjusted plan, we should maintain our supplies for now, but we must make sure we are able to build up a good amount of reserves and that will be impossible through hunting, pretty sure that's why people started farming to begin with," adding a little chuckle, "As for the elementals, yes, I will go along, but while I know how to defend myself and can help out some, my focus has always been on talking rather than fighting. So hopefully, we can sort all this out with them with a nice conversation, but I'll be ready to fight just in case. I'd also like to ask Tine in particular and the rest of the council, and our advisers of course, what they thought about a small trip to Lavender's Gate to inform them of the change in leadership and at least make an attempt to re-open trade. Logically, we're their better option, if we can just persuade them its worth it to do so. I don't think the whole council should come, but I'd like to accompany Tine as our figurehead," another wry smile and chuckle, "And perhaps Areon and/or Winni would accompany us as well?"
"Tarkkin, I applaud your initiative in setting up that field. It was a wise decision and I would be happy to assist you should you need someone else to help train.
"As for the mandates I can accept the new plan. My original hope was to gather enough resources to create a town farm which would exponentially increase our crops. Again though, the new proposal does work for me."
"I would go on the trip to Lavender's Gate, but I think we should first deal with the earth elementals. We don't know what they are planning, and I would rather err on the side of caution. It wouldn't look good for us to tell Lavender's Gate that we can ship their goods for them, and then be busy fighting off an attack from the earth elementals. Hopefully the elementals are not confrontational and we can work out a deal with them first. Then go and make a deal with Lavender's Gaye."
“Of course the elementals first, if Lavendar’s Gate really is led by a druid, perhaps a peaceful resolution and a lack of elemental slaves would help make our case for us. And it sounds like we are agreed, yes?”
(Okay Two Hunting, 1 Farm, 1 Wood Gathering; that’s the game plan for council this week? Speak now (or at least in a few hours from how) or forever hold your piece)
(Sorry for the delay, I fell pretty ill last night. The mandates are as follows: 2 Hunting (2 Immediate Food Production), 1 Wood Gathering (1 Immediate Industry Production) and 1 Farming (3 Food Production, but there is a 4 week wait, Due to Civilian Specialization in Farming)
With the Mandates for the coming week decided, and a few additional discussions on future plans for the week, the council meeting is adjourned. Everyone participating in the Earth Elemental Trails agrees to head out first thing in the morning, because nobody knew how long these trails may take, or what may come out of them. The morning starts with a light drizzle, that's supposed to increase as the day goes on. It is called the Typhoon Moon for a reason. The rain makes long walk to the mines somewhat miserable, but that depressing edge is dulled by the ramping excitement and anxiety for what these Trails may bring. Will you have to fight for your lives, solve puzzles that may spell doom with a wrong answer, transverse dangerous hallways with dastardly traps? Anything is on the table for now.
The muddy road leads straight to the mouth of a rather large hole in the side of a cliff. The scattering of boulders and other debris that Tarkkin and Tine mentioned in the council meeting is nowhere to be seen. Oil lights from numerous lanterns deeper into the mines twinkle out at you. The only abnormalities that tell you something may be up is that where normal mines would have numerous wooden support pillars and beams on the sides and top of the tunnels going down, to support the ceiling and all that, this one instead has broken beams hastily resurrected and glued in places with a strange waxy like clay substance. This is all you can tell from the entrance of the cave, it gently curves rightwards a hundred feet or so down. There is no signs, warnings, challenges, or other markings that would tell any of you any instructions anywhere you can see.
