Potato looks at the rock in his hand, looks at the dragon, looks back at the rock, looks back at the dragon. Shrugs and chucks the thing like he was skipping it across a lake.
As the dragon flies past, everyone releases their attacks. Delirious and Potato hit for 15 damage total.
Lyria gives Delirious a buff then heads back to safety.
The dragon snarls, eyeing the lot of you that have made your presence known. He flaps his wings in place and a torrent of wind kicks up, battering all the guards within 10'. Delirious is just outside the range and feels the edge of the fierce wing attack. The two guards that were standing there are now unconscious, the two that were unconscious have failed 1 death save. The dragon uses the wind kicked up to fly 40' West back the way he came. He yells and it echoes across the entire town. "I did not sign up for this, Mondath! This is your fight. I'm doing you a favor, you'd better sweeten the deal!"
Potato and Kod are up.

-We are all just one failed saving throw away from someone else's fantasy...
Potato rushes to the corner near his position and hops up on the rampart. He raises his scimitar and shield defiantly, shrieking menacingly at the dragon with the vocal range of a five year old girl. He only hopes he can capture its attention to keep it from paying any to the guards, and stays ready to leap out of the way if the dragon does come calling.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Potato and Kod weave through the guards closer to the dragon. Kod readies a handaxe for the dragon's inevitable approach and Potato... well... screams a bit to no real effect, but is prepared if anything comes his way.
Nighthill steps out again, feverishly searching the town. After a few seconds of looking and a satisfied grin, he orders another volley. The guards all release arrows and bolts (the 13 standing, anyway). Hey there dragon who feels it important to attack a city not prepared to defend itself. Is there any way this abnormal confrontation could result in a minimal death situation? If not carry on and I'm sure the guards will put you down in time. Good luck to you!
Purplish snow begins to gather around the blue dragon as he hovers, 18 and it appears that it's about to cling to him and give him a nice sheen, but at the last second he flaps his wings and rises up out of the area of effect as the spell dissipates and clings to nothing. (Legendary Resistance: If the dragon would fail a saving throw, they can choose to succeed instead. 3/day)
Regardless of the fact that Lennithon dodged the faerie fire, Hordkhen and Delirious still sink shots into the dragon's hide. He howls as they find weak spots in his armor.
Lennithon breathes deep and is about to unleash another devastating breath across another line of guards, but as soon as the last two shots hit him, he instead exhales his disdain at the entire situation. "Nope! You know what, Mondath? **** you, and **** this. I'm out. This isn't worth what you're paying. I didn't sign on to be a ******* adventurer pincushion!" He trails off as he speeds due North away from Greenest toward the horizon. It appears he has no intention of returning.
After a few seconds pause, mostly due to disbelief, the guards all start to cheer. Nighthill's voice rises above them. "Do not celebrate yet! There are men that need tending!" At this, the remaining guards rush to the fallen ones in the NE corner and stabilize them. Nighthill motions you all to the edge of the Eastern parapet.
Escobert appears up the stairs with his arms full of light crossbows. "Good news lads and lasses- We're done aren't we? Aye... Alright." He turns around and heads back down the stairs with a loud sigh.
Hordkhen chuckles to himself, slings the crossbow back on his shoulder, and replies to Delirious, "Guess the dragon thought you made sense." he drops the cultist he carried to the ground. "Everyone else casualty free?" He listens a moment and kicks the prisoner to rouse them. "Wake up swine-food, you have a story to tell the city Alderman...."
i run over to start stabilizing men starting with the ones that already failed some death saving throws (don't know how many i can do so i'll roll 5) 18172367
"Right, does anyone know where I can get some vinegar? I've got some anus needs pickling. Also, should we just kill the guards that look like they are about to die? I don't think I collected enough to go around."
Pointing at one of the near death guards.
"This guy doesn't look like he's going to make it, want me to end his suffering?"
WHAT!?!? I am only intervening in whether creatures die because this seems to be an unnatural event i believe in balance things should live and die on their own but when a force comes in to cause harm a different force must come in to save therefore balance. So if you choice to intervene why would you chose to further tip the scale that is already one sided.
I whip the rock at the dragon.

All things under control I slink away quietly to a corner to meditate in silent prayer. Reflect on the journey so far.
