Gritting his teeth against the pain, Gerrard steadies himself and draws his dagger, activating its searing heat. Losing sight of Kei, he moves forward and up—above the cloud of silt if possible—looking for the creature that seems to have made the cloud while remaining defensive.

Kei invisibly slides around the corner and into the silt-filled chamber. He can see nothing other than flickers of otherworldly violet from somewhere to his left.
"What?" asks a buzzing voice in your minds. "What is there?"
Shit Kellen mutters, should've known. He'll answer back in his mind: Some that just destroyed an aboleth, what are you? He continues trying to peer through the murk, ready to respond if violence were to happen.

"Who are you?" buzzes the first voice. "Speak, mortals."
"Who?" adds the second voice.
The kicked-up silt remains thick in the water. You can see nothing in the next room. Kei continues to see flashes or pulses of eerie violet light from somewhere on his left.
Kellen shivers at the eerie and now familiar feeling of a being speaking inside his head, but answers back with as much swagger as he could muster to the beings that he has a sneaking suspicion are also aboleths. We have utterly destroyed the one called The Whisperer and are intent on clearing out any remnants. Begone before the same befalls any who threaten the Stye.
Finding nothing to add to that splendid declaration, Gerrard just focuses on looking fierce and mentally stays on the razor’s edge of defense and aggression.

The names in his head...he'd heard them before from Sgothgah. These were the two foes looking to destroy the city and everything in it. Fearful the mental link may betray his memories of Sgothgah, Kei turns his attention to the inquisitors. "The Whisperer was who it was. We are not in the business of sharing detsils of our exploits. More importantly is, why are you here? Why are you so curious? You seem powerful enough to find answers without our help" Kei tries to turn the questioning back on the pair.

Kellen
As Kei jumps in, speaking to the crazily named beings, Kellen carefully moves towards the door, staying against the wall, and will move towards Kei in the chamber.
As he moves, he'll whisper to himself healing touch restore my health, take away the pain 'twas dealt. The instrument emits a soft glow once again, this one warmer, and it moves to the spot the lightning struck on Kellen.

"We are not from your mortal lands. We have come for Sgothgah, to undo its work, to undo Sgothgah. Failure is not an option. Sgothgah has been corrupted by mortal religion, and is performing obscene rites in this very temple. It must be undone. Sgothgah must be erased."
"But here are angry mortals, breathing our water, boasting of 'utterly destroying' a whispering Aboleth. Of what do you speak? Did you truly kill an Aboleth of the Endless Nadir near here? Speak the truth, or serve us for eternity."
"Sgothgah"
"Sgothgah must end. Its meddling here must end. Its experiments crushed"
”An Aboleth fouled our waters and poisoned the city, glorifying itself by enslaving mortals and establishing a murderous cult to feed itself. We slew it and freed its slaves, but at the cost of it corrupting my flesh!” exclaims Gerrard, revealing his slimy and partly translucent flesh.
”We seek to purify the city of its poisonous corruption,” he finishes, though he remains quite defensive as well, alert for any tricks or deceptions they might be using to lower his guard.
"It suits you well... your madreporites will be coming in soon. You will be welcomed in the Nadir when your transformation is complete."
"If indeed you have slain Sgothgah, that is especially good tidings."
"Corruption, corruption, indeed. In Sgothgah's religious decay, it adopted a false spawn – what mortals call a 'kraken' – and has hidden it here, feeding it, protecting it. It is a juvenile, but its growth is vastly accelerated, absorbing energy from the mortal world somehow. It must die, like Sgothgah. Corrupted puppets of the gods."
"Or be enslaved."
The water is beginning to clear of silt. You can just make out two large, tentacled shadows to your right, floating above the rubble on the east side of the chamber
”It seems we have done a great service for you, and you ask us to do yet another. What assurances can you give us you speak truly to us, and what will you do for us and the city should we be successful against this kracken? Can you offer us any aid for the battle or cleanse the water of its corruption in the city?” thinks Gerrard at the aboleths.
As an aside, he speaks aloud to Kei and Kellen, saying, “A monstrous kracken fits the cult artwork and city rending paradigm much better than any Aboleth.”

"This. This arcane incubator for the kraken. This abomination built by Sgothgah. This is what is draining energy from your precious city. Destroy it and destroy what you sense to be the sickness in your lands."
"But these writhing sigils. The glowing marks that writhe around the pit. What means of religious atrocity are they?"
The floating silt finally settles; it now covers the stone floor of the main section of the temple. Tangled mounds of collapsed scaffolding lie toward the east end of this area, where two aboleths pulse and ungulate. The west side is dominated by a deep circular pit that stretches from wall to wall, throbbing with a dim, unnatural light.
Kellen shakes his head at the aboleth's words. You aboleths and your enslavement. No, if this truly is a kraken it's much too powerful to be enslaved...it must be destroyed. Help us destroy it and then you may move on, back to this nadir.
”Agreed. Let us disable the glyphs and then fight the kraken, destroying it utterly. Only by a coordinated and concentrated effort will we succeed,” agrees Gerrard.
(Help action for Kellen’s persuasion).

"The mortals do not lack certain wisdom here. Even if we can enslave the kraken now, the creature is still growing and will eventually break free of our control. Even Nhatharaq and Yalathrok are no match for a full-grown kraken. The creature should be destroyed for our own safety."
"Nothing in the sea can match the strength of a kraken, but I fear we might never again have the opportunity to take control of such a weapon in our fight against the gods. But I reserve my judgment, Nhatharaq. I defer."
"Mortals, can you decipher these foul arcane sigils? Besides being offensive, religious iconography is outside our knowledge."

Kei
Kei, still invisible, moves into the larger chamber very cautiously not wanting to set off any more arcane traps. "Which sigils are you referring to?" He moves NW, positioning himself to have the mound of rubble between himself and the pair of aboleths.
Swimming over to about 20 feet from the pit, Gerrard looks at the symbols. With little magical or religious training, he shrugs his shoulders and points.
”I expect these are the sigils of power. Identifying them would be wise first, but failing that, an effect that damages, marks through, or erases them should disrupt the magic—done from a reasonable distance away, preferably,” opines Gerrard.
