He moves to somewhere near the top corner of the table. Not to be outdone by Dwals manipulation of the Weave, he reaches into his cloak and grasps his deity's medallion. "Kneel" he utters in gutteral tone towards the female dwarf.

Peri fires a beam of crackling energy across the room at the bald, gray dwarf, singeing her arm slightly.
Gerrard races across the room and sends a knife flashing across the room deeply into her shoulder. She cries out in pain, pulls it out, and throws it to the ground, roaring in anger.
Dwal throws a handful of arcane fire at her, but it flies wide, flaring up as it hits the far, ornately-carved wall.
Bjorn flies clear across the room and attempts to sting her. Sting attack: 10. Piercing Damage: 5
...but the tiny dragon's stinger fails to pierce her studded leather armor.
The door at the east end of the hall crashes open, and out stoops another, massively-enlarged duergar. This second duergar, also bald and female, wears splint mail, and wields a greatsword, which she swings back and forth with an air of confidence.
"Who dares interfere with my work? Who are you trespassers?"
But she doesn't wait for an answer. She strides forward with massive steps swinging her enormous sword.
(The first swing connects; does Gerrard want to parry?)
The smaller duergar follows suit, with a pair of cheap shots on Gerrard with her own short sword: Short sword attack #1: 18. Slashing damage: 8 Short sword attack #2: 14. Slashing damage: 7 (Sneak attack damage if one hits: 6
(This takes Gerrard down, unless he - presumably - wants to parry, or has another trick up his sleeve. I'll let Scott roll...)
The smaller duergar disengages, and backs away behind her boss.
"ENOUGH!" booms the giant duergar. "Enough fighting. What do you want?"
He rushes forward to place himself between the giant and his wounded comrade, his spear at the ready should either duergar make an aggressive move. "Whaddya think, Captain? Listen to their pleas or finish it here and now?" he asks Dwal without taking his eyes off the enemies.
Gerrard managed to slow the impact of the massive greatsword with his own blade, but he is still left gravely wounded by his attackers. (Total damage = 38 - 7 = 31 hit points, leaving him with 5 remaining.)
Seeing everyone had moved ahead of him and the gray dwarves are inclined to talk Dwal will approach and say: "What's yer kind doing in this place?" he asks "An whats with the Orc runes, ye thrown in with an orc clan eh?"
"You know nothing of what you talk about. The orcs have been gone for centuries," responds the giant duergar. "Who are you surface-dwellers and why are you here? You have killed three of my people. Why? There is nothing here for you."
"Don't start twistin things. Besides the Undead in the other room, you and yours attacked us." Dwal says. 'You and yers have set up in an old dwarven home with a defiled shrine to the Master Craftsman. You want to parley then call for a truce and we'll oblige. You want to continue this blood bath, we can do that as well. Make yer choice."
Bleeding from multiple cuts, Gerrard is somehow still on his feet and dropping into a defensive stance. “Be careful, Master Fiercehammer, these lot tend to attack before waiting for answers to their questions.”

The huge duergar smoothly places the tip of her massive sword straight down upon the stone floor.
"Let us discuss the terms of this 'truce.' One. You will pay us 600 gold – 200 hundred apiece for each of my fallen guards. Two. You will leave this place and not return, nor shall you notify others about our presence. We have no intention to further defile this place as the orc army once did. We are here to learn, not to vandalize. If you wish to be destructive and spill blood, may I suggest you take your battle down the chasm and into the Black Lake. In fact, if you were to bring us the head of the beast that dwells in the lake, I would accept that payment, in lieu of gold, for my fallen warriors."
Gerrard responds, ”Three: We also came here to learn and stop those who might vandalize the Dwarven burial ground. Four: If your guards had answered our questions instead of attacking us, we would have learned this about you—their deaths are due to their own actions as we defended ourselves and we will not be paying for them. Five: If you let us answer your question before attacking, we could have discussed this before more blood was spilled—attacking and then calling for a truce before the counterattack is deceptive at best, cowardly at worst.”
Looking over to Dwal, Gerrard concludes, “They are the bloodthirsty ones here. If you wish to form an agreement with them, I counsel caution, as the ‘truce’ they have offered sounds more like our surrender to me, and they have already shown they will attack without warning.”

Dwal
"Shut yer trap fer I decide to turn ye into a pin cushion." Dwal tells the world's tallest dwarf. "Ye ain't getting' squat fer them attack us. If'n you take one more step of aggression I'll use all me magics to turn ye into a sparklin' pin cushion."
intimidation:12
"an ye can quit yer blusterin'" Dwal continues. "Ye haven't given me yer word of parley yet!"
Dwal will call mentally to Bjorn to rest on his shoulder.
The massive duergar sighs deeply, and shrinks down to normal proportions. She sheathes her (now normal-sized) greatsword. "In that case, I grant you leave to do what you will, but not without disappointment and unease. But I call an end to hostilities between our people, here and now." She glances at her companion. "Ghared, let us withdraw to my chambers to mourn our losses today." The leather-clad assistant walks toward the door on the east to hold the door open for her boss.
"Well dwarf, you seem to have the silver tongue today."He claps high in the air in approval of Dwals effort. Turning to the group he says "I think we might be safe to explore now that Fiercetongue here has secured a truce. But I think you may need to take a moment Mr Periwinkle, you seem to have torn your 'pantaloons'". His concern for Peris fashion seems sincere.
"Take note lads" Dwal starts, "Gray Dwarves are evil, or most are, but they are honorable and do keep their word, after a fashion." he says, "I may have gotten us a few moments but, they'll be back and push their claims soon enough."

He remains eerily motionless on the table, spear still aimed at the now-shorter duergar, ready to strike at the first aggressive movement. Urugolan take the dwarves and all their confusing ways! No, the Lord of the Underhill doesn't deserve that vexation. He doesn't know what to do now. They came down to see what was in the hole, not expecting to find it occupied by a bunch of grey dwarves. Maybe they should go back to town now, though the dwarf had said something intriguing about a beast in a black lake that they were apparently afraid of. That might be interesting to see. He's glad Dwal has assumed the leadership of their band today. "Well, Captain, what's the plan now? Skewer 'em or no?" He remains taut as a bowstring.
The massive gray dwarf who had filled the doorway has shrunk to normal proportions. He is quite dead, as are the two guards you killed in the next room.
The duergar leader and her assistant exit through the door at the other end of this room, and close the heavy stone door behind them.
