"Fro what I saw, it might be sated fer now but it's still about an' it hunts folks on boats. You'll see once we finally head ta tha skiff." Dwal responds.
"If it's had its fill, now's the time to be goin'. Gonna be a rough ride though. You might want a biscuit or somethin' to settle your stomach before we go." He eyes the barred door. "I'm not real keen on lettin' those folks out, especially the crazy old man, but I also don't want 'em starvin' if we get sidetracked or delayed. Think we can trust 'em not to set up some sorta ambush when we get back?"
((We could sail over to get Peleg, take him back to Saltmarsh, and get a good night's rest before coming back for the others. Just in case they do get froggy.))
"With the dangerous beast on the wing nearby, I would be reluctant to take on extra passengers until we were ready to make the run straight to Saltmarsh," responds Gerrard, adding more quietly to Peri, "My main concern with letting them out before was either an ambush or the thought they may steal our ship. Even with us taking the ship, I think we should keep them locked up for the few hours it should take us to recover Peleg, though checking in on them before we leave would be wise."
Given his past experiences in Saltmarsh, Gerrard expects it to be difficult to extricate himself and the team from their various responsibilities there once they actually return, so not going back until they are ready to stay for awhile is preferable to him.

The standing around starts to grate on Kei's nerves. "Well, standing he chatting isn't getting anyone off the island." He begins pacing while waiting to receive the snow globe from Boko. "I don't know why we don't just head to Peleg's tower and have him magic us a new boat. I mean if he was so powerful that someone imprisoned him surely he can snap a finger and create some form of bigger boat." Clearly Kei has built Peleg up to be a hugely powerful wizard. One who would pay a hefty price to be free from his prison.
”He saved our lives, and seems not the evil sort as far as I can tell,” responds Gerrard. “Let us leave the prisoners here for the moment so they are not endangered on an overly crowded boat if we are attacked as we travel. We can go retrieve Peleg and smash the globe, then return to take the prisoners to Saltmarsh,” he adds as he prepares to head towards the skiff.

Peri begins the walk back to the skiff, explaining a bit as he walks. "He seemed okay. I'm not really sure why the nobleman keeps insisting that he saved us; he let us sleep on his rock one night, and gave us a better idea where we were, but we woulda made it to land anyway. But he did have some 'angels' around him, and these lot didn't like him, so I think he's more or less what he says, someone who got crosswise with the cultists and got trapped on his island. I don't think he'll blow up the world, but what do I know? If Yondalla doesn't want him freed, She hasn't said anything to me."
Boko nods, and updates the prisoners through the door. "We will return for you after we attend to another matter. It could be a few minutes, it could be a few hours. We will let you out and disarm the traps. You will get your safe ride back to the mainland. Thank you for your patience and understanding."druidcrafts a small weather report in her hands. She keeps her eye out for anything different, notable, or dangerous as they walk.

Normally her instinct would be to let free people go free, but cultists got on her bad side recently.
When they get to the skiff, she will shift into giant octopus form mid-dive into the waves, look around at the hull and surrounding waters, scare off anything curious, and accompany the skiff in a loose patrol, helping to pull it along if the wind dies.
The party begins the lengthy trek back to the skiff. The ground is saturated, but the rain holds off. As you reach the cusp of the bluffs, the full force of the wind hits you - there's a strong wind from the SSE. It will take some skillful sailing to reach Peleg's isle. But first, the extensive dunes must still be traversed. The rain has also washed away much of the tracks that led you here. (Pick one player to lead the way. That character must make a single Wisdom (Perception) check to proceed.)

Boko does her best to recreate the path back to the skiff, relying on reminders from others in the party. As she goes, if it feels like she knows what she’s doing, she leaves a dry reed stuck in the sand sticking out the same ankle height.
Quicker than was probably called for, Kei snatches the globe from Boko's outstretched palm. He turns the trinket over in his own hand "One day I'll learn how to make these" he thinks out loud. Boko may have seen a flash of light refect in his eyes as he spoke, but she wouldn't be sure. He stows the globe in his pouch for now and turns to the group. "So we're off then?" Shield in hand he lifts his foot to take a step when Boko steps in front of him and exits first. "After you I guess" he says flatly. He falls in but a step behind.

Boko flawlessly guides the party through the winding path amongst the grassy dunes, and back to the old wharf on the beach. (Condition of boat: 3 )
...The skiff, tied up overnight through the storm, has taken on some water, but is otherwise intact and undamaged. The journey ahead looks somewhat daunting - the winds continue to gust from the direction you want to sail, and the water is choppy. The tide, at least, looks high, so the danger of hitting the shoals here looks small. Whitecaps mark the shoals to the east and west, but the rocks are fully submerged.
(I am under the understanding that the captives were left still barricaded in the kitchen, correct?)
To sail in these conditions: Assuming Peri is your captain, he should roll a d20 and add his proficiency bonus. If another one of you has proficiency with water vehicles, you can give him advantage.
Looking at the globe and then the weather conditions, Gerrard says, “If I recall correctly, Peleg did say we could just smash the globe when we found it. He seemed appreciative of the offer of a boat ride, but less concerned about that aspect of it.”
Looking at Peri, he asks, “What do you think, Captain Fenwader? Could the boat Peleg made be used to easily run before the wind to land—perhaps to here, or even to Saltmarsh—in these conditions? I got the impression that Peleg was confident he could leave the tower once the globe was smashed.”

Peri assesses the weather. "It'll be a rough ride in a small boat like this, but safe enough. It'll take longer'n I was expectin to get out there, but we'll be fairly flyin' comin' back! The tricky bit will be gettin' up to the island itself. If we can toss Peleg a line and have him swim out it'll be a lot safer. We can make somethin' work, sure."He pauses, watching the whitecaps roll past the island. "He might make it ashore in his raft, maybe, but I wouldn't bet a silver on it. Then if he did make it to land, where he'd end up Procan Himself couldn't say. Might be freed from captivity just to get gobbled up by them frog-things. If we're gonna set him free, we oughta go get him too."

Peri:
Peri misses the contest over the globe, busy checking over the skiff to ensure everything is battened down and secure. "Let's go get our friend, shall we?" With Kei's aid he casts off and sails the little boat out into the rolling sea, mist and spray coming over the prow with each wave.
