”Oh,” says Gerrard as Kei sheds some light on the subject. Drawing his swords, he prepares to move on with the others once Peri has had a chance to rest.

Peri watches Kei and Boko with amusement. He laughs out loud when Kei discovers the rags inside. "You know she's not really a wolf, right? When she changes back she might have something to say about your 'good puppy' remark, not to mention the petting!"
When Kei's tantrum reveals the secret passage, however, his mirth turns to interest. "I guess I'm not gettin' that rest, am I?"
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Bokowolf does a canine smile-pant at the exchange, unbothered, it seems, by comments or invasion of personal space. She does look up quickly at the reveal of the passageway, and, mindful of acid pits, sniffs and listens as best she can for any traps, looking for anything weird before anyone steps on or in front of anything.
Perception: 15 (or take the first roll if the find traps check does not rely on hearing or smell, or take this single roll for sight:11)
Kei and Boko carefully examine the newly-illuminated hallway but see (and hear and smell) nothing treacherous. Two doors lead out - one east, one south.
Safely traversing the hallway, Bokowolf examines both doors. They are undistinguished, ordinary-looking doors. Boko perception: 22. Second roll for hearing/smell:4
...and finds nothing to report. All is quiet. The doors lack any obvious traps from this side. The subtle smells of mold and must are pervasive down here, but there is nothing to provide any clues as to what lay behind each.
Peri gulps down the bitter healing potion (heals 4) and stands up from the plinth. He flexes his arms and legs, judging his injuries. Not great, but good as we're gonna get. He nods a thank you at Dwal. "You sure you wanna leave all this behind? You're gonna miss the glamor of the adventuring life."
Realizing nothing about the relative health of his companions, Gerrard stays in the rearguard, looking out for specters and listening to hear if they need him up front…
The heavy door readily unlatches. It slowly swings open to reveal a large square room whose ceiling is held up by two massive gray granite pillars. The walls, floor, and ceiling are made of shiny black iron, and several bags, chests, and urns lie scattered about. You notice a shimmer in the air, like heat rising from a fire.
Suddenly, the shimmering passes between you and one of the pillars, and you see two humanoid forms made of the same iron as the walls. Their heads are smooth, featureless iron balls. Their torsos are short and broad, and their legs are thick and stumpy. The right forearm of each one is a razor-sharp sword blade, and the left arm ends in a hammer head instead of a hand.
They turn toward Boko in unison, spreading their arms.
Boko grabs the latch with her teeth, and pulls the door shut quickly. She shifts back into her normal form as a bonus action, grabs hold of the latch and braces the door. She turns and says to the group: "Large metal room, lots of containers. Then two metal... men appeared out of thin air. They are armed, and they saw me. Wolf-me, that is. If they do not break down the door, we may have time to plan, but if not, get ready."
"Do you think, if we're real quiet, they might just forget about us and we can try a different door? I mean, I know the old guy helped us out some, but this seems a trifle much to pay back some bread. How many years can he even have left?"Peri grouches mostly to himself as he readies an Eldritch Blast for anything hostile appearing.
Moving up to the front, Gerrard stands behind the newly-medium-sized Boko and says, "I can hold them off for a few rounds if they come through the door after us. You didn't happen to see a snow globe of Peleg's tower in there, did you, Boko?"

A passage leads east, but by the dim glow of Gerrard's blade, Kei cannot see where it leads.

The poor light brings back Kei's frustration. He summons one of his glowing orbs and sends it down the hallway.
Dwal cautiously moves up with the party, saying nothing.

Dwal shakes his head.
"That it does seem halfling." he says.
Dwal clasps Peri on the back, casting Cure Wounds. on the halfling.

"You smell anything Boko?" He strokes Boko's fur as she attempts to sniff out any danger.

Boko picks a door at random (1)
And pokes her nose against the east door, nudging it to see if it swings freely.

Boko holds the door shut and prepares to keep it shut. (Boko may make a preemptive contesting strength check, in case they try to open the door.)
Gerrard pushes through the front line next to Boko. Peri prepares an Eldritch Blast.
There is a long silence.
