Examining the bodies without touching them, Boko sees that all of the Drowned Blades are covered in grotesque blue boils on their faces and backs, and partway down their arms. They remain dead.
Qivys verifies that there are no more undead visible inside nor out.
The moonbeam ends, as does the Bless and Fairie Fire. The storm, although somewhat lessened from last evening, continues to blow outside in the black of night.
Returning to the kitchen, Gerrard stands protectively in front of the entrance to the pantry and calls down, "We took out the first wave of undead. You are still safe for now." The young noble stands guard over the vulnerable ones, ready to move at a moment's notice should more foes arrive.

Peri calls down from the balcony, "I don't see any signs of 'em up here. I think we're all clear. There's a guard tower or somethin' over here; I'm gonna check it out." He makes his way across the gallery and peers through the hole at the far end.
Qivys nods to Peri "Yell out if'm ya run inta anythin'" he tells the halfling. Qivys follows Gerrard into the kitchen. "Ask her if'n she can come up and do some sort of thin' over these bodies so they don't get back up." he says to Gerrard. "If I remember right, she is a priestess of Procan. He's all about gettin' tha dead from tha sea an' makin' sure they get their rest from this world."
Qivys will go and recheck the doors that they have secured, making sure they are still so. As he does so, something crosses his mind and he turns around and goes check on Peri.
Relaying Qivy's message, he asks, "Priestess Janore, can you come up here and give these bodies holy rites that they might not rise again as undead? I could try burning them with my dagger, but that would take a long time and seems...disrespectful somehow to the people these once were."

"I... I don't know if I know how..." begins Janore from the bolt-hole. (Gerrard: Make a Persuasion check.)
Peri crosses the rickety balcony over the Dining Hall and peers into the old Guard Tower. It wobbles a little, but he crosses without incident. Looking in, he sees that an exterior door into the tower is barricaded shut from the inside. Arrow slits are set around the walls, and a wooden trapdoor is set into the floor, with a cloying odor rising from it. A ten-foot ladder lies next to the trapdoor.
Seeing that everyone is satisfied that the undead are re-dead, Thwack returns to the main room (7) and looks around for Peri. Almost on cue the halflings head pops over the upstairs railing, shouting about a guard room. "I come help. If they guarding something important maybe you need to open chest or door or window or cupboard" he prattles off as many things as he can think of that might be locked as he runs up the stairs. He makes it as far as the corner of the balcony when he notices a closed door. "See?! Told you you might need help". He tries the door handle.
Thwack is distracted by a doorway. But the door to this chamber actually hangs open, with the detached head of a mace on the floor acting as a doorstop. The room within is modestly furnished with a cot, a table, a chest, and a chair. An oddly shaped basin rests on the table, with a small piece of mirror hanging from the wall above it. It is dark and unoccupied.
Peri retraces his steps back to the balcony over the scullery. He sees Qivys and reports, "The tower has an exterior door that's barricaded. The hill must slope up over there so it's more or less ground level. But there's also a trapdoor to go down, with a ladder next to it. There's an awful smell comin' from it, though. I'm just as happy lettin' sleepin' dogs lie, but if someone feels compelled to open it I say we wait til daylight, at least."
Qivys walks in and upon hearing Peri, he nods. "That's about the gist of what I was thinkin' about." he tells the halfling. "Wonder if'n tha priest and her friends know whats down there." he states.
Qivys just nods at the "helpful" kobold.
Qivys thinks for a minute then turns towards the kitchen. "Those 3 survivors ain't much help ta us so far." he says. "But we best ask 'em again about what happened to 'em. Just ta make sure we get their story straight." Qivys takes a couple steps. "Whatt ya think we need ta do about them blue poxed bodies?" he asks the duo he is with presently.
Qivys means to return to Gerrard and ask him the same last question.

Thwack
The thought of all the potential loot to be found in such a civilised room makes Thwack's eyes widen. "Here treasure treasures" he sings as he moves through the room searching for anything that takes his eye. He pays close attention to the chest and table for traps.
"We should probably burn 'em or something. But I don't wanna touch 'em, and if we're plannin' on leavin' in the morning we might as well leave 'em." He starts to follow Qivys when he hears Thwack's singsong call to "treasures." He should probably stop the little scrounger, but Boko did find all those treasures... Well, we should probably do a thorough search anyway, he justifies reasons to himself. He stands in the doorway, curious what Thwack will find and whether it will blow up in his face.
Janore reluctantly climbs up the rickety ladder and out of the bolt-hole. "I have no magic for the likes of this. Procan gives us rituals for sacrifices. Procan gives us the arcana for healing, and for protection. Procan gives us ceremonies for the proper burial of the remains of sailors lost in wrecks. But Procan gives me nothing for.... those horrors." She gestures to the heap of grotesque bodies in the doorway of the kitchen.
Thwack quickly dismisses any possibility of traps and proceeds to pop open the chest. As Peri watches, Thwack discovers that the unlocked chest next to the cot contains a selection of threadbare garments and worn sandals. It also holds a religious icon set encrusted with jewels, two blocks of amber, and a small, ornate feather. The metal basin on the table holds water, and a bronze straight razor lies next to it.
Anticipating Qivys hears this as he returns to Gerrard. "Are ya sayin' Procan don't teach about tha drowned an' how ta insure they don't spend eternity as some undead monster?" he asks, a bit gruffly. "Or are these cursed from Procan an' sent ta chastise tha living?"
”I recall pouring water in my boot once before a journey as part of a Procan ceremony…We did make it back, but many who traveled with us did not,” says Gerrard with a twinge of sadness.
”It is probably safer not to touch them, but I would prefer them to not be lying in the hallway and at the threshold to our fortified kitchen. If we can find a large blanket, I will roll them up in it, one by one, without touching their exposed boils, and dispose of them,” offers Gerrard.
”What do you think, Master Qivys, dump them out the front door and deal with them in the morning? Maybe start a fire in the kitchen and burn them to ash?” he asks, uncertain how to totally eliminate the threat of their reanimation.

"These are no allies of Procan," replies Janore sharply to Qivys. "We have nothing to turn these abominations. But they must be destroyed. Procan warned me. That skeleton in the hole – that was a fellow priest of Procan. I was told to find it, and doing so saved our lives."
Of all the items Thwack's attention is drawn by the feather. He picks it up and quickly stuffs it in a pouch. He then looks back to the remaining items and gathers the icon, sandals and razor. With one last scan of the room he turns and starts back towards the group. As he approaches Peri he hands him the sandals. "Better than those ugly things" he points to Peri's current footwear. Upon returning to the group he hands Qivys bother the razor and the icon giving him a wink as he does. "What now?"
Peri opens his mouth to explain his ugly footwear, but closes it and accepts the sandals. Might as well explain to the chair for all the good it will do. He doesn't hear any more commotion, so he decides to finish checking out the second floor, starting with the door at the north end of the balcony. Must be above that guard room; I wonder if there's a way to see I to the bricked-up room?
Qivys shakes his head at the priests response. "Well, we can't leave 'em on that floor here but I ain't cherishin' tha idea of puttin' hands on them either." he says. "Could wrap a rope around tha legs and drag 'em inta tha room where all those rats almost killed me off?" he half asks Gerrard.
