(Investigation roll just in case for the ballista: 14)
Kellen surveys the damage uncharacteristically quiet. Yes, can't be much help if you're diving off the dock every few minutes to catch a breath he says, without taking his eyes off the scene. He finally shakes his head and gets ready to help guide the ship in to dock.

But there are no docks, no wharves – the entire waterfront is a scene of utter destruction. You might anchor, if your ship still carried an anchor, and row in, if you still had a boat. But your vessel has lost both. You could swim in, although the water near shore looks full of debris.
The warship approaches. "Ho!" calls out someone from the warship, which looks in surprisingly good condition. It's longer than your vessel, if a bit narrower. It has a very large crew, sports a naval ram, and carries two mangonels and two ballista. "Seaton is closed! Give aid or be on your way!"

Kellen
Kellen waves at the crew jovially, and then indicates the ship. Unfortunately, good fellow, we won't be on the way to anywhere in this. But with the town in worse shape than our ship, that is exactly why we are here, to render aid. We are learned in the magical arts and will be a boon to the recovery efforts.
Figuring in his current state he would be at best a distraction and at worst a plague carrier, Gerrard keeps a low profile and lets others do the talking.
Kei recognises Kellen's ploy and plays along. "I assume the same wave that rendered our ship all but useless is what caused this damage. We were headed further along the coast but having witnessed the damage to your city we only seek to offer aid, and maybe get our vessel repaired" he tries to further Kellens ruse.
The figure on the warship – decked out in a formal uniform covered in medals – nods, and shouts back orders. "Search for any more survivors! Leave the dead! Tow in any intact loose vessels you encounter!"
Gerrard recognizes his voice – it's his cousin, Elwood.
Tempted to identify himself, Gerrard restrains his inclination given his debilitated state—he wouldn’t want to publicly show weakness in the noble family. Instead, he contents himself with a bow toward his cousin in honor of the work he is doing here.
Should the esteemed Captain desire a private meeting after observing the bow, well, who was he to refuse?

The warship glides past. You see dozens of crew aboard, all wearing the naval uniforms of Seaton. The figure who hailed them goes into a cabin. If he recognized Gerrard, he made no indication of it.
"Tow other vessels?!" Kei says; "how can we do that? We're the ones who need towing." He continues to run the lines as best he can. Shouting to Gerrard "Where to once we make landfall? Where are the priests most likely to be?"
Standing up from his bow, Gerrard says, “The faith is not strongly encouraged by the local nobility, so the Procanite temple was hidden down by the docks—though it may now be destroyed.”

The sun is beginning to set. A low rumble of thunder reverberates through clear skies. It takes you a moment to pinpoint the source of the thunder as the black mass several miles offshore.
Activity continues unabated on and beyond the crushed walls of the city. It's a huge mess. The death toll is incalculable.

Kellen
We may just have to swim for it...I don't think we'll be able to dock anywhere. Kellen tries to get a good look at the black mass, see if he can glean any information from it.
Kei watches as the chaotic scene passes slowly by as they move towards what was the harbour. He does as asked and keeps an eye for any obvious survivors but he is more focused on the shoreline. "I'll defer to your knowledge of the city Gerrard. You tell us where is best to start looking, although in this mess who knows" he says to his noble friend.
Following Kellen’s gaze to the dome in the distance, Gerrard says, “What do you see, Master Kellen? Is there another immediate threat from the black dome?”

Kellen shakes his head and shrugs. Hard to reel from here…I can’t imagine that crack in the dome leading to anything good, however. Perhaps we should make our way to land, get you healed before the imminent threat becomes dire. Let’s have our “Captain” get us a little closer.

The crack slowly widens. It's hard to see against the backdrop of the setting sun, but it appears that something – a liquid, perhaps – is leaking out.
The widening, the leaking, accelerates, until a huge viscous mass slides out of the center, like the black yolk of a mammoth black egg. Another wave is triggered – probably not on the scale of the wave you initially encountered, but the ship's delicate condition, it may still be a concern.
And then you see a smaller mass beginning to approach. It is still a couple of miles away, it seems, although the scale is hard to judge. You have a few minutes before it will arrive.
Rurik overhears Kellen from the helm. "Get closer to what? The shore?"
With wide eyes Kei stares at the incoming mass. As it gets larger with every passing second he let's loose the line he'd been holding. "I dont think we'll be getting you to that healer Gerrard. If you think any of the gods will listen, now might be the time to speak to them". He makes his way to the bow and watches intently as the mass approaches.
Kellen sighs yet again. I'm beginning to think one of you pissed off a god or two. Or maybe it was me...I don't remember doing anything this offensive though. Kellen looks around to see if he can find a spyglass that survived the wreck:

”Point taken, Master Kei,” replies Gerrard, continuing his work with a slightly more peppy step.

Passive Perception 12 (for spotting survivors)
Kellen can perceive little of the black mass in the distance other than one new detail – a massive crack, slowly widening.
Kei scours the water for survivors in need of rescue, but sees none nearby so far. Just debris and miscellaneous flotsam.
