Abraxas peers into the pool, but does not see anything beneath the waters that are quickly becoming murkier as the blood of the manta rays spreads. Simeon examines the door and leads the party onward into another ascending stairway.
The ceiling remains at a height of 40 feet in the following room, which is fifteen feet wide and long. Between you and the opposite door, the center of the room is dominated a pedestal with three female statuettes, the forms of which are unmistakable:
A tabaxi (or a Nekomata to Garu and Simeon) ranger with a bow and arrow pointed at some threat, her playful expression locked in stone.
A bored-looking human archer with her own bow aimed at some other unknown menace.
A feisty halfling poised to strike with a dagger in each hand.
Abraxas and Harmony recognize the carved forms of their former companions, Aisha, Olive, and Isabella, etched in stone on display.
Harmony looked at what was in this new room, shocked and stunned to see the statuettes of their former companions, looking at Abraxas. "Aisha! Olive! Isabella! Why are there statuettes of them here?! Are they okay?!" she immediately said as she went running up to them. What is going on? Why are there statuettes of their former companions here of all places? Did something happen to them? Harmony was so confused with so many questions right now.
The floor in front of Harmony suddenly crumbles, and she barely avoids falling down the forty-foot-deep pit that it suddenly reveals, swinging her arms frantically to remain on solid ground. The falling stone of the floor lands atop a deadly row of serrated spikes on the bottom of the pit.
Harmony had heard Garu, nodding before suddenly the floor in front of her crumpled. "Ah!" she yells out, barely able to keep from falling and swinging her arms to remain on solid ground. She looked down, shocked to see the pit with a row of spikes at the bottom of it. "I think this was a trap to kill us!" Harmony told the others, so glad that she had not fallen but not happy that whoever did this tried to trick them with statuettes of people they knew.
Abraxas stared in surprise at the statue from the door. He was even more surprised as the floor dropped out from under Harmony. Without moving, he investigates the floor that has not yet fallen: 21
"Are there more traps?" he says. "And, Harmony, Garu, who else knows that we began our journey with Aisha, Olive, and Isabella? Who knows that would prepare this statue here? As a trap?"
Abraxas discovers more sections of the floor that seem ready to crumble once weight is placed atop them. In fact, the entire center of the room appears designed to do so.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
He shares this information with the rest of the party and investigates for safe flooring: 14, hoping there is some around the edge o the room.
"I seem to have misplaced my rope," he says, "but perhaps we can tie one end around the door behind us. I could Misty Step to the top of the statue or the opposite doorway and catch a rope thrown to me."

Abraxas concentrates on the far door and Misty Steps to it. Assuming Simeon has tied the other end of the rope, he'll investigate the door close to him for traps: 24.
If the door is trap free, he'll tie the rope to it. If it is not, he'll suggest a safe path around the edges of the room to the others.
Harmony had heard Abraxas ask who might have known that they began their journey with Aisha, Olive, and Isabella that could have prepared this statue as a trap. "The only people that I think who would know of all of us were the people in Ruskivek and the ones we met when we went to check out that Ice Basilisk." she had said back to him. Then she saw the rope and heard Garu, nodding back as she does the same thing as Simeon to get over to Abraxas.
One by one, you each cross to the opposite side of the room, traversing over the breakaway sections of floor beneath you. It is cramped at the other side, gathered in front of the door.
Abraxas leads the party into the hall, another ascending staircase, and into the following room, as Mro Jus Bir and Mro Jus Bur trail behind. This room looks similar to another in the citadel; the ceiling here still towers almost forty feet above the ground, however.
The room's walls are each 20 feet in length, and another door lies closed along the right wall.
There are two stone tables in the center of the room, each with a large stone step leading up to it. The first has a large stone weight on its surface. The other has some sort of complex machinery, with a ball bearing on the top of the device and a long, maze-like ramp filling the inside.
You hear a voice in your minds ask, "Shall we test your intellect further, or examine the strength that you bear?"

Garu slinks up and examines the likenesses on the statues. “Hey - I know this one”, she says aloud at Aisha’s countenance.
“She didn’t like me much. So the others also travelled with you?”, Garu asks Harmony.

"A fine idea," replies Simeon as he hands Abraxas a 50' length of silken rope.
The outer edge of the room does appear to be safe to Abraxas, enough area to move single file toward the door at the other end of the room.

After verifying the rope is safely anchored at both ends of the room, Simeon, hand over hand, makes his way toward Abraxas...

Once the others arrive at the door, Abraxas will move into the next room. He readies Ray of Frost in case of hostilities.

Garu breathes a long sigh. “My strength is not my greatest gift but I will lean into it with the great guidance of Tylyn.”, she speaks in her mind.
