Harmony would see the creatures start coming toward them, hearing Bir as she nodded back. So she will move back away from the Kavnari before she opens up the scroll, saying the command word to summon up this spectral Owlbear.
Movement: Up to 30 feet away from the Kavnari but still staying in the room
Action: Read the command word for the Scroll of Owlbear Summoning

Simeon watches the kavnari, waiting to see how they will respond to the sleep cast by Abraxas. He simultaneously devotes his ears to the chant that fills the room, hoping to determine what sort of ritual he and his companions have interrupted (Religion: 12)
Unsure if summoning an ogre is the best course of action, the cleric opts to provide divine aid to the others by casting bless.

Abraxas's spell washes over the room, causing three of the demonic creatures to move unnaturally slow. Two lag behind the others; unable to reach their targets, they dodge as they close in. Garu tears through the feeble defenses of an unaffected Kavnari, killing it with ease while Mro Jus Bur beside her draws a wound in another. Behind them, a spectral owlbear towers over them as the scroll in Harmony's hand disintegrates, and Simeon provides a divine blessing to his companions.
Two of the remaining Kavnari close in on Garu, surrounding her with a flurry of claws and teeth.

Weakened by Simeon's necrotic magic, the Kavnari closest to Garu is an easy target, and her jian sends it crashing into the pool, dead before it hits the surface of the water. The lithe paladin steps a few feet to the side and guts a second Kavnari before it can strike at Mro Jus Bur, and the Kitsune gives her a grateful nod before darting to the ledge around the water. He follows behind Abraxas's exploding ice, going in for the kill.
The last remaining Kavnari inexplicably ignores Harmony's summoned owlbear; after dodging its beak and claws, it runs right past the spectral creature toward Garu, then stops in its tracks as the owlbear gores through its skull with its beak.
As the last Kavnari splashes into the now-crimson pool, the small light in the center of the room begins to grow, becoming a wavering, portal-sized image of a city.
For Abraxas & Harmony:
The image displayed in the growing portal is unmistakable - the castle sitting at the base of a mountain overlooking a massive sea, the Cassalanter Villa, the City of the Dead, and other wards of the city...the portal displays an image of Waterdeep.
For Simeon:
The image displayed in the growing portal is haunting. The sight of Ersetu is unmistakable, though it barely resembles the happy gnome city of your youth. What used to be a bath house, now cracked and dusty and empty; tinkering labs full of shattered glass and broken tables; and the large room where many of the gnome families made their last stand against the undead that overran them, still stained dark with blood.
For Garu:
The image displayed in the portal is unmistakably Lyrikav. The city's varying architecture and wandering populace seem to be current, as if you are looking upon a living picture.
Harmony was stunned to see the city of Waterdeep in the portal until she had heard Garu. "Lyrikav? But I see Waterdeep. Is this how we could all return to our homes?" she then asked everyone.
Simeon hears the words of the others as they remark on the wavering image. "Remarkable. Ersetsu."
A wave of bittersweet emotion washes over the wood elf. He looks at the others, his face with a questioning look upon it. "We do not all see the same thing, friends. What does it mean?"

Abraxas considers the arcane nature of the portal(s), specifically wondering if they are genuine: 11.
"Like you, I rejoice to see my home again." Abraxas pauses. "As much as I wish to be there, I have to say this seems to be a gift from enemies. Those that opened the portal(s) were in the act of attacking us. Do we use these portals? Are they safe?" As he says this, he moves closer to Waterdeep and the portal that seems to lead to it.
The nature of the live images inside of the portal suggest that its purpose is, in fact, teleportation. However, it is not like any teleportation you have ever seen before. When you use the teleportation circle beneath Galanov Manor, there is no portal involved.
Abraxas stands close enough to the portal he can smell the ocean. Is that Volo's voice on the wind?
"I'm not familiar with the details of this form of teleportation," he says. "I am sure that teleportation is, however, what these portals do. They are genuine."
Simeon nods in response to Abraxas's words. "The chant of these kavnari...I recognize it as some sort of teleportation magic."
After a pause, the wood elf says, "We seem to agree on what it is. The greater question is this: what shall we do with it? I am tempted to enter it, for I see Ersetsu, a place so dear to me..."
Garu does not see much else within this room. The water is becoming clouded with Kavnari blood, but the pool in the center of the room looks to be at least fifty feet deep. The portal has grown to a full ten feet tall, with another thirty feet above it to the cavernous ceiling.
Harmony listened to everyone, thinking and remembering why they are even in this world. "As much as I would like to go back, weren't we brought here in order to save this world and ours? So we should keep going." she had then said back.
