"We shall return you to your homes,"says Simeon, resisting the urge to ask about the fate of the "dozens."
If the others are in agreement, Simeon leads the group out of the old woman's room of horrors and toward the exit, following the path they used to enter Turmaether.
Abraxas helps Simeon and the wounded figures. He will be happy to be out of this place. "The Sphinx," he says. "There was a Sphinx. I will need to remind myself of the details of my spells before we speak to it," he says.
The cage door is locked, but the prisoners are visibly relieved as the first man answers Garu with the shake of his head, "On occasion, travelers would come through to challenge the old woman to her games. None could see us, or even hear us, until you came back. That is it, though. She took the others up to somewhere, but I don't know where. We have only been here."
Harmony listened to the man, stunned to hear that they were being collected by her, dozens but yet there is only these three here. She shivered at the thought of what happened to the others, nodding in agreement to what Simeon said about returning them home. She listened as Garu questioned them and he answered back about how no one who challenged the woman before could see or hear them until they came back, not knowing where the others are at. "Did she not say or mention anything at all about what she did with the others or where they're at? What did she do to travelers who lost to her?" Harmony had then gently asked him as well.

Abraxas, overhearing the conversation Garu and Harmony are having with the prisoners, will Investigate the room, looking for the key: 14.
He is systematic and thoughtful in his search, collecting as he goes the chessboard and any pieces. He pockets them all. The body of the creature is where he begins looking.
"The ones that lost, she...she took a limb from them. It was the same every time. They never heard our warnings. They would play her evil game, and they would lose. Then they would..."feed her hunger", as she put it," the man answers.
The corpse of the old woman has only a single, large gemstone. After Abraxas looks it over and picks up the checkerboard, he discovers a large iron key resting beneath it on the surface of the pillow.
Harmony was stunned to hear what he said about what the woman would do to losers, disgusted. Now she was extremely thankful that they had only tied with her and not lost. "How horrible. Don't worry, we'll get you back home." she said back with a smile. But she wonders where the woman could have hid the key to this cage though.

Abraxas takes the key. He tells his colleagues about it and tosses it to the closest to open the cells.
He considers the gem before he picks it up. Are there arcane energies associated with it? 26 Has his study of history taught him anything about it or gems like it? 9 If he feels the gem is safe, he will pick it up. He will share its existence with the others once the men in the cells are free.
Harmony smiles, seeing as the prisoners were free now before thinking. She wished that she could help them more, seeing how weak and exhausted they are. She is ready to go as these prisoners need to get out of here and rest up back at their homes, staying close to them while they all are leaving.
Abraxas is ready to leave Turmaether as well. He tucks the chess board under one arm. Reaching into his book bag, he holds one of the queens in his fist. "How can we help the gods and so return to our world having fulfilled our word?" he says to the others.
Abraxas ponders aloud as you descend the remaining flights, then walk the long staircase to the entrance of Turmaether. Emerging into the sunlight, you find that your horses have been surprisingly well taken care of by the kobold attendants, who for their part, hover over you curiously. There are still dozens of the creatures skulking in their tents away from the sun, and likely many more within.
"No scratches, no wounds...all in one piece. Our warning helped, yes?" one of the guards outside of the tents mentions as the leader steps forward.
"Iron Claw honors their deal. Your horsies are safe, see? Now you honor yours," the leader remarks to Simeon with his hand outstretched.

If the others are in agreement, Simeon leads the group out of the old woman's room of horrors and toward the exit, following the path they used to enter Turmaether.
"Was she the only captor you came in contact with or did you run across others?", Garu asks as respectfully as she can.
Scanning the room, she uses Divine Sense to get a feel for how close they might be to more badness.

For Abraxas:
The gem is not of a kind that you are familiar with, but with your knowledge of gemstones, that surely means that it is rare and valuable.

Buoyed by the healing the paladin has given them, they are weak and exhausted, but are able to walk slowly.

Simeon smiles and nods as he hands over sixty gold pieces. "We thank the Iron Claw."
"Your warning as well placed. Thank you - she shall hopefully bother no one else.", Garu replies.
