Aisha chimes in You can use the.. acid thing still yes? if so, as soon as we finish moving the bodies away, then we should just destroy them. Inaction is almost as bad as choosing the wrrong action. so if you can, then prepare it for when the last body is atleast sixty feet away.
Tsavi helps with moving the bodies away from the statues.
Aisha basically wants abrax to nuke the statues after the bodies are moved a fair distance away, and only after the last body is there.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
"I can bring acid about just once in my current mental state," Abraxas says, "and lightning once, as well. Perhaps that is enough for a test. Rested, I can evoke acid twice and lightning three times. But a test is a good idea."
He will help the others move the bodies, then cast Vitriolic Sphere just above the top of the closest statue. He is sure no bodies are too close to the statue before casting for 22 damage on the first round and 13 on the second.
When the last of the bugbear bodies have been shuffled away to a safe distance, Abraxas launches a small green orb of energy into the midst of the nearby statues. The orb erupts into a shower of acid, pouring over a cluster of four or five of the Warlords, most of which begin to quickly show erosion as acid eats away at stone. One, however, begins to glow through a series of cracks that suddenly emerge.
The cracks run from top to bottom on the bugbear totem, the light from within growing brighter as more of the statue's facade crumbles. Then, like flakes of shavings from a wood carving, the statue falls to pieces, leaving a glowing pillar of crackling arcane light in its place. Three more statues on the outskirts rapidly follow suit. A deep grumble shakes the ground as they too fall, heightening to an otherworldly roar as the four pillars of light overtake the still-standing Warlord Statues, converging into one 60-foot-diameter beam of trembling energy arcing into the clouds.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Abraxas curses himself for not resting before tinkering with the statues. He also consults his entire mental library of arcane knowledge in an effort to understand what he is seeing. He will turn toward Harmony and ask for her help in this.
Harmony was stunned at seeing the one statue glow and then fall, a beam of light in it's place before three more also appear. Then they all merge into one and continue to expand, worried. Was this the wrong thing to do?! Then she hears Abraxas, nodding back as she tries to help him with what she might know.
Aisha not fully sure what's going on, but assuming the worst, takes two shots at the beam, where the one of the pillars were, doubting it would do much but having little choice otherwise. Aisha isn't sure if this is good or bad, but always assume bad! hit the pillars with whatever you can but save your stronger spells if you have any leftshe said speaking to everyone but emphasizing any casters We will know soon enyuff if it is one way or the other, and if it is bad, we only have the choice to deal with it so prrreparre yourrselves! tsavi paced nervously, having come out when the combat was clearly over, ready to Defend Aisha from some attack but otherwise pacing and full of anxiety.
Effectively, Aisha attacked the pillar she knew the location of the best, and is waiting to see if somehting evil and wolflike comes out.
OOC: Sorry for the delay, struck by a bit of writer's block.
The pillar expands rapidly, overtaking Aisha's arrows as if they had never existed. Before Abraxas or Harmony can truly grasp the nature of what is happening, the pillar is upon them as well. Another vicious roar rumbles the earth before the energy overtakes Aisha, Garu, and T'savi within seconds.
Strangely, there is very little feeling when the pillar swallows you in its light; a tingling numbness in its sheer brightness that lasts a mere moment, before the landscape around you changes. The Warlord Statues are nowhere to be seen. As your vision adjusts to the dim surroundings, you see that you have returned to a forest that is familiar, yet not the same as the one you have just come from. Before you is the campsite where you have spoken with a pair of Rikirtan deities on a number of occasions, as quaint as ever, with logs for seating set up around a central campfire. This time, however, the fire is far from healthy, having dimmed to embers.
Gabrielle stands opposite the fire from you, looking much more bedraggled than her usual beauteous countenance and wearing a genuine smile on her weary face. Ginan sits nearby, turned mostly away from you with a hood drawn over his face. Despite the shroud, his face is clearly more scarred than your last meeting, and only one of his arms is visible past his cloak.
"Please seat yourself, dear ones. The magic we have used to bring you here is countering the effects of Fenris's portal, but will soon wear off," Gabrielle mentions. On cue, the numbness begins to fade, replaced by a deep sick feeling akin to poison.
Remembering how Tsavi wasn't here the last time this happened, Aisha glances around to see if purhaps this time she was as much as she doubted it. Regardless, hearing the words she focuses on the two that are there, and when the venomous feeling begins to overtake her Aisha can't help but 'lap' within her own mouth over and over, as if holding back the urge to vomit from it. Managing, to brokenly speak between periodic tongue-laps once she was finished. Aisha felt suddenly tired, sitting down wherever she had been summoned, and asking the most obvious question that came to mind: Your worrds, and your counte.. countin.. the way you are behaving tells Aisha htat the riddle was solved incorrrectly. Aisha's face was a line, ever the pessimist if she had indeed '****ed up' her demeanor only expressed that she had expected it to be the case.
Harmony was so confused before seeing the familiar forest and campsite, seeing the two. She heard them, now getting that feeling as she wanted to throw up. Then she sat down as she thought that they must have done it wrong, thinking that they were supposed to do what the vision had said. Why did she doubt herself?
Aisha does not see T'savi within the small forest glade. Gabrielle smiles wide at Aisha's insinuation, saying, "That could not be further from the truth."
"Standing your ground against Fenris's destruction was questionable," Ginan scoffs. "We barely got you out of there in time. Regardless, you saw through the lie. Had Abraxas followed Kayel's instructions, his elven nature mixed with the blood of the Warlords' descendants would have summoned Fenris to this plane. You would not be able to stop that creature."
"Kayel's deception knows no limits. When we summoned you, he showed hesitation. He did not trust that you were strong enough to save our world. But this..." Gabrielle releases a silent wail, clutching at her chest as if physically hurt by the thought. "Kayel now represents all that we have tried to stop."
"Kayel will not stop with the loss of Fenris. His attention has moved to Arketh. It is where he has taken Tylyn," Ginan says with a pointed look at Garu.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Abraxas is pleasantly surprised. "I'm glad we solved the riddle correctly. We were very worried. But, Arketh? Tylyn?" He will try to remember everything he knows about these two.
Aisha sighed a breath of relief that her assumptions were off the mark, but that meant something else. her eyes locked with where Ginan's eyes would be if he were looking at her as she remained grounded on the spot. So then, you fought. That is why you are injured.... for lack of a better way for a... morrrtal to describe it. And .. This one wasn't sure what do do in that situation, AIsha had assumed it was summoning and felt taking the initiative on attacking would be the best bet if she were corrrect. Atleast a few early nicks.... So thank you for corrrecting Aisha's folly and aisha will not make that mistake again... but if running was the only option, Aisha and Tsavi would likely be the only ones to make it, purrhaps Abraxus might... as well but not all of us are as fast. she says, obviously not trying to degrade the others she may be referring to.
The next chance you get to speak to this Kayel, tell them that Aisha thinks they are pathetic. That a DIETY of all things would cower sooner than a four foot tall kitten who doesn't even want to be here to begin with. Make sure they know they are beneath this ones feet, no better than a maggot cowering from their better. And for making this damned thing harrrder than it needs be in their cowardice, that if they do nyot learn their place soon, AIsha will put them in it. There was a threatening edge to Aisha's tone, she hated the fact that any of this had to be done to begin with, let alone that one of the so called 'good ones' would play the idiot and make the entire thing far more annoying than it had been already. Those who looked, would see that Aisha's visage was fierce, her pupils, slitted to the thinnest they could be, and both her canines were fully bared. And those with enough hearing could hear a very suppressed predators growl.
Harmony was so relieved to hear that they had actually made the right choice after all. Having heard Aisha, she understood and knew that she probably couldn't have outrun them. She nodded, hearing now that Kayel has taken Tylyn to Arketh. "Where is Arketh? How would you suggest that we stop Kayel and free Tylyn?" Harmony then asked them as well.
Garu listens with growing concern. Her brows furrow slightly when she hears that Tylyn has been taken. "Tylyn's light shines through me. We will find him and bring the light to Kayel."
Putting her hand to her holy symbol, Garu speaks aloud, "Tylyn - I come to find you. I will be your beacon in these troubling times as you are mine."
She looks around the glade - "Ginan - gratefully, I would ask that you tell me all you know of how to find Arketh."
