Stilgar violently snaps back to the present as the dream like world around them fades back into reality. the rogue listens in silence awed and speechless at witnessing the terrible power of sozos...
Olana looks at Laurentia and replies "I have an idea... The coven has three settlements on the surface. We can call them North, East and West. We are closest to the West one but the other two are not too much further away. I came from the northern settlement before fleeing to this town. There is a building called the Great Archway at the center of every one of them which hosts a High Witch. In the under part of the building, there is a room that they call "The Womb". This is where they bring my fellow sisters that do not get devoured beforehand for their birthing ceremony. I know they use a book for the ritual here so it is our best shot at retrieving and not heading to the central palace where Mother resides."
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
“what...yes ah...”
stilgars eyes flutter as he regains a sense of focus once again aware of his company and surroundings.
“just so i understand the situation...you need us to steal a powerful book from your “mother” the original sozo summoner, who now leads a mysterious swamp coven which harnesses power from the demonic abyss...”
stilgar scratches his chin hair
”if ive learned anything durning our past jobs...its dont trust the crazy swamp lady...you probably just want the book for your own dark reasons right?? ...”
Olana lets out a laugh and responds "Well of course I want the book for my own reasons. That is why I want you to retrieve it for me. Although I find it quite impossible to steal it from Mother herself. She is buried deep in the lake below and the amount of family down... Certainly would not last long. That is why I think stealing the book from a high witch would be our best course of action. Maybe if this book gives me more strength, maybe we can do more... Maybe.." Olana scratches her chin. "Of course in return for your help, I will teach one of you how to summon the flame."
Stilgar examines the twitchy mass that is now covered by Olana's tattered robe. It seems to definitely be something strange that he has never seen before.
“understood. if we are to be successful in recovering the book with minimal casualties...
stilgar winks
”id hate to harm any of your family, so we will of course need maps and layouts for the temple, any info on how to disarm your friends would be more then usefull...”
stilgar motions to a nasty cyst on his shoulder created with a twirl and a snap of his finger.
”i assume this can be used to...incapacitate them should the need arise”
"Flame..." Ash mutters to himself, creating sparks and a puff of smoke in his hand via Prestidigitation. "A flame of purification, different than that of destruction granted to me by dragon blood..." Still feeling intimidated by the witch's powers, he continues: "Well, I'd rather have you as an ally that not." Ash cannot help but glance at her shoulder. He cringes a bit at the sight.
"I will do the best I can with giving you directions and maps. While these creatures are painful, they are not a true weakness. If you wish to incapacitate anyone, I would suggest using normal methods that you would use on a human. Do what you must with my sisters, I do not expect their to not be casualties in this. They are deranged and brainwashed, but if you can incapacitate them, do and spare as many as you can."
Olana looks at Ash and says "Purification is only the word they use. The dark flame of annihilation removes all it touches to the depths of the abyss. While magic in this realm uses the weave to make reality, we will use the weave to summon parts of the flame into this existence and manipulate it here. Do not underestimate its power."
"My sisters, like I, were raised believing these creatures were our beloved children. It wasn't until complications arose with my Instructor that I learned the true nature of these vile things. Hers had an insatiable appetite and would not stop feasting. It kept eating and devouring her while the high witch watched. She was deemed weak and unable to control her creature, but that was not the case. We are just hosts for them to devour. I learned that on that day."
Olana steps them through describing the western settlement to the best of her abilities. She describes it as a town with about 50 or 60 residents about a 4 hours from their current location. There should be about 20 or 30 buildings with a large one with a large archway in the center. This building is their target. There is very little security considering the close nature of the village, however, outsiders would be recognized quite easily. Olana warns that the witches are quite potent spell caters, especially with pyromancy. However, only the high witch of the settlement can summon the dark flame.
”very well. any supplies which you may have at your disposal would be more then helpful. this alchemy shop should have potions that would aid us, yes?”
"Hmm I was not able to take much when I fled, and this is not my alchemist shop. I dare not ask her for anymore than what she has done for me." Olana gets up from the table and walks over to a box in the corner. She pulls out two vials and says "These are special potions, embalmed with our special fire prowess." Olana set the potions glass vials down on the table. The first one smells of hot, searing metal and she explains that it is a potion of Fire Breath (DMG 187). The second potion is a clear oil, contained in a crystal bottle etched with geometric patterns. She explains that it is a potion of Fire Giant Strength (DMG 187).

Laurentia turns to Darimus, " I hope that this option is better with you than making a pact with a devil?"
Darrimus looks to Laurentia.
”I will not be an Oathbreaker. Let’s get this book.”
"Alright Olana, seems we have a deal. Do you have any idea where they keep this book?"

“deranged and brainwashed...i take it youve had a falling out with your sisters?”
stilgar grins always ready to apply his skills when opportunity presents itself.
”anybody you need....taken care of? of course that will cost extra”

”kill the high witch...got it.”
"Seems like a job relatively within our capabilities. I'll do my best to make sure no one gets too carried away."
Darrimus cracks his neck.
"Seems straight forward. Let's get to it."
Lareuntia attempts to get started the map getting/making.
