“Yes, we have been commissioned by the City Guard to investigate some local attacks. Our investigation leads up to believe the culprits are using the sewers as a means in and out of the city undetected. Have you noticed any suspicious activity?” Says Graxxy
The man begins to speak "The sewers? I have not heard anything suspicious. All sewer gates exiting the city should be locked. I am not sure how they could be using the sewer exits. What manner of creature are you pursuing and which exit do you think it is?"
”You see the gate being used did not appear broken or tampered which means a key was used to get in and out. Someone must have lost their key or had it stolen. Do you have any new hires or has anyone lost a key recently?”
Graxxy also tells them the directions to the sewer gate entrance.
“aye, the farmers mentioned a hunched back creature wit an odd gait.

"That is most concerning. There are only a few keys to the outside sewer gates. I possess one as does my son. The only other one in the Rittle group is the senior sewer inspector, Ralphael. Outside of us the Baron and the City Knight Commander. Are you wishing to journey into the sewers in pursuit of this assailant?"
"Hunched back? Hmm I don't know anyone that fits that description, but I also do very little managing of the sewers in my age. Especially with the fair coming around soon."

" yes, we are hoping to gain official access and apprehend the assailant along with any details about who might be in that area of the tunnels. Glad to hear the entrance to our city sewers is so secure, but I was hoping we might get a few more leads from the matter. Do you happen to have any maps of that section of the sewers?"
Insight on the statements about no one really having access to that section of the sewers and whether or not that makes sense or seems fishy.8
"Well, due to the nature of the events and the fact that I don't have any idea who you guys are, I don't think I am going to let you guys just have a key." The man looks at an object on his desk. "And since it is already late in the afternoon, it is probably not wise to try and start today. I will talk to Ralphael and have him meet you here tomorrow morning. He will escort you to this sewer entrance and unlock the door for you. I will do my best to locate a map of the northern sewer exit before tomorrow."
Percy listens to the old man, but does not seem to sense any deceit in his statements about keys to the sewer. He does seem a bit worried hearing stories about unauthorized access to the sewers.

The man is sufficiently distracted by the conversation and does not notice the mage hand sliding the object away. As Ulala brings it to her and looks at it. It reads 1807 briefly before changing to 1808.. A weird contraption to say the least. Somehow by glancing at this item he was able to determine it was later in the day.

" I cannot but agree with Gorlok's statements here sir. Every hour wasted is another chance at a farmer being lost or their stock for the festival destroyed. Nothing could do more to ruin the festival, and as a man who is so keenly aware of the time, you know the clock is ticking. We will be waiting outside that North section in the morning."
Percy turns to his companions, "If you give me a little while to stop by a blacksmith I might be able to grab us a secondary lock to throw in the gate while we are watching it tonight."
When they return to the sewer entrance, Percy would like to take one of his magical sparks and place it on a string. He will tie the string onto the gate of the sewer and the spark will cause the string to emit an audible beeping sounds if removed or broken.
If he is able to acquire a lock he will put it on the gate.

The group finishes their conversation with the old man and leave the city of Odaigo, heading back towards the sewer exit north of the farms. Once the arrive, they set up in front of sewer exit and take two hour shifts watching while everyone catches a rest. The order goes Gorlok, Graxxy, Percy and Ulala (just did alphabetical). The night goes relatively uneventful. The group was quiet by no means and it is debatable if Graxxy fell asleep during his watch... but luckily for the band of adventurers, besides the bats, no creatures seem to be around the sewer exit.
Upon waking the next morning, the group waits patiently for the arrival of Ralphael. Ulala, still holding onto the device that she took off of the old man's desk, reads the numbers as they go from 700 to 800 to 900.... at 1016 an older human male in his 30s can be seen walking towards the group. Once in range, he speaks openly in a slightly higher pitched voice "Well hello there! You must be the adventurers in pursuit of sewer monsters! Well I'll get right to it and let you guys in."
"Thank you for your prompt arrival good sir." Percy will go and dismantle the string contraption on the gate that he assembled. It makes a "booooop" sound as it is removed.
“ya sure tuk ya time eh? breakfast was acceptable aye suppose, had a string o errands ta run first ya did? peoples livelihood are at stake lad, at least try ta show a littul urgency...an don think yur jus runnin off. tha old man has appointed ya as are guide.”
Raphael chuckles at Gorlok then moves into the sewer exit. He takes a key on his key ring and inserts it into the door. A loud clunking of metal can be heard as the door swings open.
Raphael turns and says "Alright then. Good luck with your investigation."
The sewer extends in about 15 feet before getting so dark that thus without a light or dark vision would have trouble seeing.

Graxxy frowns.
”That is not good...”
Graxxy places his hand on his chin.
