as ash shows off his skills with a dagger, stilgar summons his mage hand and takes advantage of his distraction attempting to place (30g)his fair share of the gator coin into his companions pocket.
Using the Laurentia nature advice (and roll) the group removes what they think will be of value from the crocodile before heading back to town. Now that they are back in town, they still try to decide what to do next.
Ash searches for a shop that would be interested in exotic animal skins.
If it is too early for that, Ash will look for the faction agent in order to return his loan. "Won't be needing this anymore." ... Ash feels an extra lump in his pocket. "What's this?"
" I'm not entirely sure about the hours people keep who buy miscellaneous animal parts Ash, but they might be asleep by now. Saying that, much as I hate to possibly wake her, we should get this book out of our hands and seal our end of the deal before anyone shows up asking questions. Or whatever it is that crazy demon witches do."
With the group in agreement they head over to the alchemists shop. Upon arrival they see there are no lights on in the main room and the sign on the door says "Sorry Closed!"
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
"'Sorry Closed!' it says." Ash reads with a chuckle. "We are special customers." Ash looks for any hints that would lead to being able to enter clandestinely.

stilgar tries the door. if locked and ash is unable to find any signs for the party, he will give a quick check to see if theyve attracted any wandering eyes before picking the lock with his mage hand

The group enters and Stilgar speaks into the dark room. Footsteps can be heard coming down the hall in the back. A light slowly illuminates the doorway and a humanoid figure brings a lantern up as she rounds the corner exclaiming "Who is there!" after the light hits your face, you recognize her as the shopkeeper, she continues by saying "Oh it is you guys! What brings you here this late at night. You almost scared me to death!"
stilgar stands aside motioning to the croc
”ash, your expertise is always welcomed!”

“i agree. lets ditch this book before the tumor riddled hags come looking for it.”
stilgar watches with a mischievous grin as ash discovers the planted coin purse.

Darrimus nods.
"Yes.. No telling if they have someway to track it."

Darrimus looks around nervously.
”Anxious to get rid of this thing.”
Looking around, Stilgar waits until the streets are clear and then quickly picks the lock. The door is now unlocked.
“o look! the doors open...”
stilgar walks into the shop
”hellooooo??”
Ash watches as Stilgar expertly picks the lock, then proceeds to enter the building.
"....like I said....special...." he says, aghast, as he follows.
Darrimus takes up the rear being silent and watching his companions backs.

shielding his eyes from the light stilgar turns to the shopkeeper.
”sorry for causing you a fright, but we seek the witch. its of grave importance and can not wait until morning”
"Yes, didn't much think it could wait with the twon under control of a rampaging demon and all. But of a schedule we have to keep."
"Sorry for inviting ourselves in, ma'am, but the door was left open for us."
