Sol Rhea: The door to this back room hangs loosely on broken hinges. The cramped chamber beyond smells strongly of sour fish and vinegar. It is filled with discarded ropes, canvas tarpaulins, and splintered wood from smashed barrels.
You can hear ragged breathing coming from under a tarpaulin at the north end of the room.
Randy: The door swings open with little effort and within seems to be the office for the warehouse. The room has a desk, a chair, and bare shelves covered with dust and draped in cobwebs. Harmless rats skitter about.
Sol Rhea: The hidden figure removes the tarpaulin from himself and reveals a handsome man dressed in expensive looking clothes. He is marred by grime and the lingering stench of rancid pickled herring, but he retains a noble air about him.
“I thank you for dispatching those hideous creatures.” He gives Sol Rhea a bow, then looks around at the rest of the party. “I am Renaer Neverember. To whom do I have the honor of speaking?”
Randy: You open the door to reveal more offices full of dusty office equipment.
A quick search of the rooms turn up only one item of interest, an unused Paper Bird.
Paper Bird
Wondrous item, uncommon
After you write a message of fifty words or fewer on this magic sheet of parchment and speak a creature's name, the parchment magically folds into a Tiny paper bird and flies to the recipient whose name you uttered. The recipient must be on the same plane of existence as you, otherwise the bird turns into ash as it takes flight.
The bird is an object that has 1 hit point, an Armor Class of 13, a flying speed of 60 feet, a Dexterity of 16 (+3), and a score of 1 (−5) in all other abilities, and it is immune to poison and psychic damage.
It travels to within 5 feet of its intended recipient by the most direct route, whereupon it turns into a nonmagical and inanimate sheet of parchment that can be unfolded only by the intended recipient. If the bird's hit points or speed is reduced to 0 or if it is otherwise immobilized, it turns into ash.
Paper birds usually come in small, flat boxes containing 1d6 + 3 sheets of the parchment.
After grabbing the Paper Bird, you hear voices downstairs. It sounds like the party is introducing themselves to an unfamiliar voice.

Dewey looks up and sniffs the air. His eyes narrow in pleasure. The delicate aromas of fish and vinegar remind him of simpler times.
Randy checks the door to the room to the North.

Sol moves cautiously towards the sound "who's there? Are you hurt?"
I draw!

Sol Rhea: You hear a man's voice from under the tarpaulin.
“Are--are they gone? The bird-men?”
He sounds scared.

“I’ll kill the last one if it makes you feel safer.” Dewey adds as he winks at the Kenku.
Randy: You hear nothing but the sounds of skittering rats.

“What’s your name again? Chances are I’ll never remember.” Dewey says and laughs uproariously at his own joke.
Sol gives the proper bow back "Hello, I am Sol Rhea Xanovar and these are my ...uh.. associates. "
I draw!
“You get it? Neverember? Never remember?” Dewey asks and then throws his hands up in frustration.
As he wanders off again, Dewey can be heard muttering to himself about landlubbers and their lack of a sense of humor.
"Greetings, new friend!" says Kevin. "My name is Kevin. A pleasure to make your acquaintance."
