OOC: I mean, we're doing this, right? This is called "Dragon Heist"

OOC: I don't know why my last post includes that link and I can't seem to get rid of it.

Randy: You feel like his floppy hat gives him a trustworthy vibe.

"Never let is be said that a Krotchbottum would not shove itself into the face of bottom feeders to give them a solid licking!  I have been awaiting a grand adventure of such a sort!"  Dewey said as he stands up on his chair.  Then he turns to the rest of the bar and shouts loudly. 

"But first, a bet is a bet!  I said a gold piece to whomever handles the most foes, and Durnan was this night's champion!"  Dewey tosses a gold piece to Durnan.  

Randy intones in an extreme deadpan, "You seem trustworthy."

"I'm with the rest of this lot. But I'll need an hour to prepare. " Sol says a little roughly.

"Aye, I too intend to continue adventuring with this lot," says Kevin. "A fine time has been had so far!" He adds with a laugh. He grabs a nearby glass and drinks it but finds it was not the ale he was expecting and spits it out.

Dewey: Durnan catches your coin and says with a nod, "You fought well."

Volo smiles at the party. "Excellent, excellent! I knew you were the right people to call." He hands each of you a small pouch containing 10 gp.

He notices Kevin spit out the ale, and looks afraid that he insulted him. "I'm sorry the ale is not to your liking, is there anything else I can order for you?" He asks nervously.

While Kevin is deciding, Volo starts to explain the job. "I suppose you will need a description of Floon if you ever hope to find him. He is a handsome human male in his early thirties with wavy red-blond hair. When I saw him last he was dressed in princely garb. Two nights ago, he and I were drinking and merrymaking at the Skewered Dragon, a dark, bawdy tavern in the Dock Ward. I recommend that you all start your search there."

He looks around the table at your faces.  "Do you have any questions?"

Randy looks up towards the sky and asks in a moan filled with anguish, "Why me?"

"Do you have any of his clothing or belongings I can smell?  All you humans look the same to me, but the Krotchbottum's have an unrivaled nose.  I'll be able to spot him from several feet away." 

"Aye, I have a question," replied Kevin.  "When do we begin?"

"And when I say, several feet, I mean like a foot or two.  I will definitely be able to recognize Floon by scent from a foot or two away."

Dewey: Volo was surprised by the question, and starts rummaging through his pockets. He comes up empty. "I'm sorry, I have nothing on me that would smell like Floon."

Kevin: He looks at you with fear in his eyes. "Please start as soon as possible. I'm afraid something horrible has befallen my friend."

With all your questions answered Volo gives you directions to the Skewered Dragon. He instructs you all that if you find Floon, please return with him to the Yawning Portal, where he will handsomely reward each of you. "I'll leave you all now", he says, "to plan your investigation." He stands up and leaves the table.

What would you guys like to do now?

OOC:  should we ask around about the Skewered Dragon and the dudes with the face tattoos from earlier before we go?  Who has a high charisma?

(Dewey also retrieves his javelin)

OOC: Randy has great charisma and persuasive abilities, but he lacks direction or motivation or something.

Sol, who has been pulling out her supplies and setting them up looks to the others. "Finish your drinks while I finish up the spell please, I need to replace D'artagnan. "

“Randy the rambunctious!”  Dewey exclaims as he places a friendly paw on his shoulder.   “You seem more charming then the typical human, or er... Elf, or whatever you are. Can you ask Durnan and the others what they know of the tattoo’d humans and what we can expect at the Skewered Dragon?”

Randy shrinks back from Dewey's touch. To Dewey's mind Randy sends the message, "Don't touch me!!" while out loud he says in a monotone, "OK."

Randy turns first to Durnan, "What can we expect at the Skewered dragon." he says in a monotone while urging Durnan to comply with his mind.

Randy's persuasion = 18

Randy: Durnan finishes wiping the mug in his hand, looks up at you and says "It faces an alley that runs between Net Street and Fillet Lane in the Dock Ward. The clientele is mostly the local dockworkers, not exactly a friendly place."
