You know from this vantage point you should be able to see a good long ways, 10 miles at least. But with the swaying of the ship that is even more pronounced up here and the sunlight beating into your eyes, making your headache worse, you can't make out anything but blue. In fact...you think you are about to...
(Make a constitution save for me. DC 10 or lose what is left from your dinner last night due to sea sickness.)
As those of you that made it up to the crows nest make it down, a bucket of salt water is poured over the heads of those unconcious on the ground. They both spring into a sitting position, craddling their neck and hands as the soreness of their bones and muscles complain about the poor treatment.
As they make their way back to their feet, with a few of the less jeering pirates helping them up, Plugg addresses the crew again.
"Well it looks like you aren't all entirely hopeless. Cloud boy there may not be brave enough to climb, but if he can get to the top that's all I need to know. You, and those two are riggers now. Congratulations. You report directly to me. Let me down and you will regret it, if you survive."
He points to Ventus, Varus, and the yet unnamed pirate that made it to the top in the same time as James. He then addresses James, who still looks a little unsteady despite having done just as well.
"Maybe I will put you up in the ropes once you get your sea legs boy. But right now you look like you are about to spew. Unless you did while you were up there?"
The idea of a man losing his stomach over a little bit of choppiness is apparently funny to Plugg, as he sneers in derision.
"Now then, for our next task...the galley is in need of a hand. Which of you soping bilge rats knows how to cook?"
He goes down the line, asking the remaining 4 party members as well as the three unnamed pirates yet to be assigned jobs on board if they have any skill in a kitchen. None of the other three indicate having any ability.
"No." Builder answers the question. He does not say anything further, but figures his nature should be explanation enough. He does not need to eat, so he has never so much as considered cooking food for any reason.
“Aye. You there with the weak stomach. You made it to the crow’s nest. Focus on that so you don’t puke.” With that said, Ventus smacks James on the back. (Could I give him a bardic inspiration die to add to the save? I thought he already rolled it or I would’ve given it to him before.)
(PbP being what it is I will allow it, your posts were only a few minutes apart. Karnic, take your inspiration...if you want to use it to keep your dinner down you are welcome to.)

Birel, having finally woken up from the poising fully, merely looks down at Plugg with a glare and snears at him. "I am a blacksmith, look at someone else to be your Scullery Maid."
(OOC I'm just going to assume Birel is taller than Plugg since she's 6'6")

Plugg goes down the line, asking each one by one. As he stops in front of James he eyes him critically.
"I think not I would rather not have someone near losing their supper be fixing mine. That green tinge looks unhealthy. You don't have goblin in your ancestry do you boy?"
He continues walking without waiting for a response, coming to rest before Birel and Sericea. "You hear that Scourge? This one is a blacksmith! You are going to have a blacksmith on your swab crew. Make sure you make good use of her talents!"His sneer widens into a large smile at his own joke as 3 or 4 toadies cackle in delight.
"You both have fire. That's good. Don't let it get you in trouble though, sass me again lasses and you will be going on the mast for Bloody Hour for lashes."
Like a bolt of lightning he reaches and grabs Sericea's wrist, twisting it into an awkward position between them. It's doesn't hurt, but it twinges in a way that says too much further and it would start to.
"I guess since we didn't have the foresight to kidnap him we will have to hope that you weren't to busy batting your lashes at him to some attention while you were whisping your way through the kitchen, eh wench?
You are assigned to the kitchens. Report to Fishguts and if he isn't drowned in his cups he will show you around the mid deck.
The rest of you sorry lot are now swabs. Report to Scourge for your assignments. Now get to work!"
OOC: Now that you have your assignments you are officially crew members aboard The Wormwood. Welcome aboard!
I just put a link to some campaign notes in the campaign page. These define the rules mechanics for the first portion of the adventure while you are lowly riggers and deck hands. There is a lot there, but take your time to read through and let me know in the OOC chat if you have questions.
For our first day on the boat though, let's get your days assignments made.
Day 1:
Ventus - Rigger - 3 - Upper Rigging Work
Varus - Rigger - 4 - Rope Work
James - Swab - 4 - Hauling Rope and Knot Work
Builder2 - Swab - 1 - Man the Bilges
Birel - Swab - 3 - Swab the Decks
Sericea - Cook's Hand - 3 - Turtle Hunting - Ambrose is drunk today, but not insensibly so.
As the crew begins to disperse to their assigned tasks, the red headed woman approaches the party.
"You made it through the trials without dying...I am glad. Those of us that have been kidnapped have to help eachother.
To that end, I spoke to Cut-Throat this morning...she is the quartermaster and keeper of the ship stores. I convinced her to give me my holy symbol back because Besmara would lay a curse on anyone in possession of it that was not a true worshiper. She's a superstitious one."
A small smile of amusement plays across her full lips as wind tangles through her hair, bringing it over her shoulder.
Anyway, she was so eager to get back on the Pirate Queen's good graces that I managed to get back some of your items to. Follow me."
She leads the group back down to the sleeping area they had awoken before.
"I wasn't able to get much, it wouldn't do to be accused of stealing. Apparently there is a man in the sweat today because he tried to break into a locker yesterday, Magpie I think it is. Anyways, I think these are yours."
Opening her locker she extracts Builder2's thieves tools and Varus's Lyre. She turns back to the group and returns the waylaid items.
"The other items you will have to buy back from Cut-Throat yourself, or maybe you can convince her to give them to you like she gave me my holy symbol.
I'm Sandara by the way. You lot seem a lot more pleasant than most on the ship. I hope we can help each other.
I need to go get to work now though, they will notice if I'm not doing that running."
She turns to head back up on deck, but there is a moment to catch her if you want to continue this conversation...
"Besmara? 'The Black Lady'? 'The Sea Banshee'? Surely you do not sail in the Shackles without at least a cursory obeisance to the god that watches over every pirate no matter how black hearted?"
Sandara gestures to her holy symbol, a skull and crossbones in poured silver with a dark black antiquing, giving it a sinister look.

Ventus pulls up the sleeve on one of his arms, showing Talos's holy symbol tattooed onto his shoulder, a set of three lightning bolts pointing outwards, all starting at the same point. "Talos guides my path, and he shall be the only god I worship. I may not be a cleric, but that does not mean I cannot spread his holy message across the land in the form of song and magic."
"My thanks." Builder says as he takes his tools back. He puts them back where they should be, but still misses the armor plating that was removed. He heads to his assigned duties though, without any delay.
Varus wordlessly reaches for his lyre, reverence in his eyes as he stares at the instrument. He inspects it for any damages before tuning it slightly and raising it to his ear. He pushes gently on each string, making a nearly imperceptible sound each time. Once he is satisfied, he places it in his case, then looks at Sandara with respect.
He bows his head slightly, "I am in your debt."
With his instrument returned, Varus throws himself into his work with vigor (Day action: Work Diligently).
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Birel returns to the top deck and locates the equipment needed to finish this job and well. She might be here against her will, but a job is a job and she hated a job done halfway. She glares at anyone who looks like they're trying to make fun of her throughout the working hours.
Constitution Save: 5
Let's see if it works this time, disregard this role if the one above actually shows up: 17

James raises a hand in a friendly wave to Sandara and the rest of the group, "I'm James." He starts to make his way up to the deck to get his tasks done and over with. His feet hit the steps a bit harder then they should and his hands keep flexing from open to fists. His movements also appear stiff, almost like he is fighting against himself and is forcing himself to get to work.
While he works, James will take any time he can to get a better layout of the deck; and take particular interest in the area of the captain's quarters and if anyone goes in or comes out.

Sericea takes note of the mixed actions of the pirates, how some helped her up, while others sneered.
Emboldened by the elf's retort to Plugg, she decides to treat the crew like a rough crowd back at the Maid, and gamble for a laugh:
"Indeed, if you wanted someone to make you a nice dinner, you should have told Scourge to kidnap the cook!"
Plugg goes down the line, asking each one by one. As he stops in front of James he eyes him critically.
