Thistle, that is some killer perception. You listen at the top of the stairs....but hear nothing both times.
For disarming the statue or the triggers, lets roll slight of hand, DC 12 on the triggers, DC 16 on the statues.
Yokini, you find your family, 11 of them, as well as some other humans and dwarves. Your family is so excited to see you, and again they tell you about how you just missed your sister and mom by a few days.
Zashier canted his head to the side, only to quickly straighten it out at an ephipany. As one came to mind, so came another upon overhearing the treatment and urgings of eithers, while also recalling the kobold's own declaration. For the first time in a good while at least, others can see genuinely troubled look cross elephantine face. "... Any way I can convince you and your family to stop kidnapping people. Stopping worshiping gods that you'd have to kidnap innocent folk for food? Maybe I help find nicer dragon god, yeah?"He asked, even though the answer was no doubt clear enough.
Even so, Zashier would give Tigs his chance to offer a solution. And if he didn't like the sound of it, he nodded, and just gesture to Tig's discarded weapon(or if not available, Zashier's own Yklwa). "A being should have the chance to die fighting when they can, or so my father say, if don't mind the adlibbing. All I can do now, my friend."

Zashier, at your suggestion, the kobold spits in your face. He says "You come here...kill my family...and judge me...judge us! Hmph" and he turns away from you. As you gesture to his weapon, he glances back at you, weighing his options. He dives for his dagger, and whips it back towards you, but instead of stabbing at you, he runs past you.
The rest of the party: Tigs the kobold is now running towards the far stairs (the ones you have not yet ventured down) after Zashier has chatted with him. I can make about halfway across the room if anyone chooses to intervene.
Raddunth will be happy to run at the kobold to grapple it, which will give the others a chance to restrain Tigs.
Athletics 23 contested by Tigs' athletics or acrobatics.

ey/em/eirs, or they/them works, too (just not he). Role-playing since that keep on those borderlands. I love it so.
"Bound and gag that kobold so we can focus on disarming these traps and get Yokin's family free,"Lem says, doing his best to help jam the visors shut on the statues, staying well out of the line of fire.
Thistle will return to her plan, now the kobold is wrangled. (Mark traps, then return to Lem to see if he has managed to block the trap on that one statue, and if not, attempt it herself.)

Lem, lets say its a ....you know what, I think this would be an intelligence check, to see how it works and wedge it. I will even throw in your proficiency bonus since this sort of falls under stonecunning since these are stone statues (though not history), so lets say a d20+int-bonus+prof (if you think it would be different, I am open to suggestions.23.
Lem, using your shovel and your small knife, maybe some items from a mess kit, and borrowing a few shovels and crowbars from the others (maybe Thistle lets you use her saber since its already been eaten away by ooze), you manage to make your way around the room, with Thistles help and guidance, to wedge the visors shut on all of the statues.
I imagine after you wedge them shut, you test one out…
With some hesitation, you hold your breath, and step onto a stone trigger…You hear all the statues on either side of the room attempt to slide up the visors, but they can’t, and you hear the sound of compressed air of some sort, and the dart hitting the inside of the visor.
You may now freely move about the room.
If you want your crowbars and shovels, please remember to grab them before you leave the room…
I will move the story along, since you are now free to move about the room, but feel free to ret-con any roleplay you would like to add in. I dont want to cut anybody off...
The group slowly makes their way around the room, moving the cages, unlocking them,....listening at the stairs to make sure the kobolds are not coming...unlocking more cages. Finally, after all is said and done, you have a very thankful group of freed captives. 11 gnomes (all yokini's family), and 2 dwarves, 2 humans, and a halfling.
oh, and yes, you have a bound and gagged kobold....
Are any of the captives in a state such that they cannot get out on their own? We left the floor trap on the stairs wedged inactive, so they should be safe, and the pudding is destroyed.

They are all undernourished and weak. From a mechanics perspective, they have 5 HP. They are weak. They could probably make it out on their own, but I dont think they could make it back to the city on their own. Plus, good luck getting Yokini to let her family out her sight, now that she has found them...
Raddunth asks for a recap of what else the group wants to do here.
He recalls something about getting stolen property back, and now there is a mob with them.

After Yokini has seen to her family and the other captives to make sure they are all OK, she marches over to the bound kobold and wraps her un-gloved fingers around its neck threateningly. She points her glove at the wall and a mote of fire shoots from one finger, exploding against the stone. "Are the rest of your kind lower down? Or are more of you likely to come home and find these captives free?"

Thistle, to Raddunth, "The gnome's mother and... another relative, are further down, were taken down there from here a few days ago. I expect we're going down there now. But yes, we were to get some dragon hide. That might be secondary, now. Tell them I've gone to keep watch at the stairs down."
Thistle is going to go stand watch over the stairs down, trying to be inconspicuous.

Edit: Oof. She's too distracted by the horror she has just witnessed, and keeps glancing over to see what's going to happen to the kobold, to pay very close attention to what she is doing.

Zashier just stands nearby, not really guarding or helping since the Kobold tried to make their escape. Eventually his attention turns to the unconcious one, and his brows begin to furrow at increasingly grim thoughts. If called out to or asked to help in anyway, he at least appears to shrug it off to complete whatever task is asked of him. But beyond this, he is uncharacteristically solemn and distracted for a time. Once the captives are all freed and left for a moment to their own devices, only then did Zashier actively take an interest in his surroundings of his own accord.
Wordlessly, if not already having been done so by others, he passes out nine days worth of rations for the group to share amongst themselves, along with both of his waterskins for good measures. At least... he tries to. Though at any looks of worry or fear, he just smiles softly, and sets them on his bedroll before stepping a fair bit away. Though mindful of the scorpions nesting in his pack throughout this process, and while gentle as he can be in the process, the risk of or inevitable abuse never stays his hand for long.
Yokini, the kobold says "My tribe... all here, we all ...go out on raids... together. No kobolds ... out hunting now."
Thistle gives Raddunth a rundown of the situation, then goes off to do some reconnaissance. She doesnt notice anything suspicious coming up the stairs.
Zashier, solemn for a bit, finally comes out of his personal reverie and doles out some rations to the group, careful not to get stung. A few of the freed captives stare, but no one is scared or offput by the heros that rescued them this day.
The unconscious kobold is beginning to stir. Is he restrained in anyway? I will say the other kobold is tied and gagged in the middle of the room, between all of the coffins.
Yokini is too upset to try to judge whether the kobold is lying, so she's going to take a chance. Do any of the (former) captives look strong enough to watch over the two kobolds? Her idea is to leave them here with the captives and go further in to look for her mom and sister.
Kobolds go into an empty cage, one apiece. Door is locked, and a cage is stacked on top (like it was earlier).
After the rest of the family is saved and the items recovered, return to get the kobolds when leaving.
