The Naicas are polite, but a little stiff, and you feel your outsider status. Del is actually a bit worried about Reglan being missing. Missing persons seem to be a theme we shouldn't ignore. But he's going to leave that and the rumor issue lie while building good will at the Naicas.
At the Simuls, he is going to mention his concern to Dean Lonvari, including we keep being told not to worry about some missing person or another, and it always turns out to be something real. Four days of data only, but still
He'll also make sure people at the Simul table know the rumors being spread about Quentin are not true. I wish I could get a message to the Naicas, they could damage their reputation for good information, spreading lies that are easy to disprove, over a juvenile catfight
"Yes, I don't know what Reglan was thinking," says Lonvari. "He stands a good chance of losing the King's trust over this, even if it's only meant as a prank. I think we'd rather not let that happen. Lord Quentin is still unable to see his comments were nearly as juvenile as Reglan's response. But he has an idea about sweetening relations with sugar - if we turn out to have any... and he tells the tale of Barleyman and the Rescue from the Gingerbread House, especially details about spells and interplanar travel, and telling about the possibility of researching the poison and the victim's transformed state. He might have some crumbs left in his pocket from the cake he handed over to the police, if so entrusting them to whoever the Dean thinks is best.
It is not going to be too late a night before he follows Derez to the baths then to bed
Raven sits at the table with the satyrs. She listens to the conversation around her, but keeps quiet, considering the day's events. When able to do so she would leave to go have her bath and then retire to her room.
Elwin quickly finished his meal, noticing that he was still more uncomfortable than he thought he'd be around so many nobles. He made up his mind to interact more next time... perhaps taking up his companions' suggestions for "dressing up" would help. After all, if he was to become someone of importance, mastering the social scene would have to be a part of that.
Leaving his table, the warlock headed toward Derez to be lead to his bath.... and then, hopefully, bed.
Roffles looks horrified. "You mean...spend MORE time with them? Ehhhh......meeehhhh....well, I'll think about it."

Spending some more time to eat and make small polite talk with Warden Avalêhen Quentin eventually excuses himself so that he may enjoy a proper bath. Taking the time he’ll also make sure to track down and talk to Elwin. A little bit of an embarrassed blush creeping onto his face as Quentin tells Elwin, “I wanted to congratulate and thank you for the excellent work in trial today. Nacia might have gotten away today if it wasn’t for you and well you came up with the best punishment suitable for him.” Rubbing the back of his neck before awkwardly scratching one of his cheeks with his pointer finger as he says, “I go too distracted and wound up with the rumor. Should have stayed focused on why we were there. And though I could buy some good will from them with the sugar I was thinking maybe we could use it better. Maybe sell it to the crown and then using the money to buy some of the stuff we couldn’t last time. Maybe spend some of it to get the urchin kids warmer clothes and hot meal. I don’t know.Just a thought for the group. But anyways you’re probably tired so I’ll let you go. But if you ever find yourself unable to sleep you can come to my room. I’ll gladly talk magic with you. Don’t get to interact much with someone who gets their magic from a different entity.”
