Raven first moves over to where the serving boy is at the bar. "Who can I speak with that might have some information on what is happening around Rhachluksor?" She asks the boy. "Is it something I should check with those upstairs on, or do you have someone I should talk with instead?"
Mindartis sits down next to Quentin and wait for him to say his piece before adding. "Satyrs are rather simple minded compared to other Fey, but they still do appreciate their bargains being held up. They've done the work, and now they're not getting what they're owed. They want to know why, and if you're not giving them any kind of answer they're going to continue to do things such as attempting to take hostages. So why have you stopped delivering on your end of the bargain?"
Elwin sits back and nods at Del's offer. "The company is appreciated, friend, and yes, I'm managing with the dialects. Although I'd recommend saving your magicks in case of another conflict." The bard did indeed seem to a worthy companion. Glancing toward Raven walking off, he added, "Seems we've the makings of a decent enough party among us. Hopefully Raven can find what she's looking for, and our lords can negotiate... something with the Naicas."
He thought for a second, then laid out a gold and a silver for the food. "In the meantime, I'm content with just listening to your music. Might as well enjoy the calm before the storm."
The serving boy checks Raven out, smiles, and blushes a little. "Um, there are probably students at the Academy that might be from around the Fens. I go there, the Thamasaille, I mean, not the Fens,Transmutation, this is just my part-time job. But the Fens are a long way from here, so I'm not sure who might have been there recently, unless one of the Nobs has been traveling or got some news. If you need to, you can usually find out what's going on from the border patrol or the Queen's guards, and there are places in the Free City where you can buy information--OH!" he says, smacking himself on the forehead. ""Speaking of buying information, the Naicas actually do a bit of business in that line. Some of the family are usually hanging around the lounge, if you wanted to have a try.. He leans forward and whispers, "They will skin you for everything they can get, though, and do not accept any gambling invitations--unless you are better at cheating than they are."

"The Academy you say?" Raven asks, changing gears slightly for the moment. "We are heading over there next." She explains. "We thought to stop here for a bite to eat, and to get some information, but then we are heading that way." She leans against the bar, giving the boy a friendly smile. "We were booted out of our coach you see, and need to get passage on to the Free City. Do you know how often such a transport leaves, or if there are even ones available at the Academy?"
Amryn Naica's smile does not falter at the accusations. "Gentlemen, I thank you for bringing these problems to me, though I must admit I fail to see how they concern you.
"In fact, yes, we agreed to deliver a barrel of our best beer each month to the Satyrs in return for foraging for us. The sad fact of the matter is that we are unable to meet those exact terms at the moment. We attempted to offer them common beer instead, pointing out that they do little foraging at this time of the year anyway, but they were unhappy with the compromise. And since they were only going to complain anyway," she shrugged, "this month we sent them a barrel of back stock we were planning to clear out of the cellar. At the rate which they drink it, I'm surprised they would notice any difference, honestly."
"It's really all down to the sugar shortage. The gnoll raiders have been seizing shipments from the Halfling Republic with alarming frequency, which means there is no sugar coming into the Westwoods. Sprites and Pixies are absolutely addicted to sweets--all the energy they burn while flying, I suppose--and since there is no sugar coming up from the Halfling Republic, honey has become their sweetener of choice, and it is now difficult to come by and becoming more ruinously expensive by the day. And honey is a vitally important part of our premium recipe. We will not alter the recipe and damage our brand's reputation, but at the price of brewing it, we can certainly not afford to brew enough to slake the thirst of thirty grubby goat men in exchange for a few handfulls of withered berries and a scrawny deer or two. We are not the Aldalires. We have little land and wealth to draw on to tide us over hard times."
"In a few months, when the bees have built up new reserves, perhaps we can strike a new bargain with the satyrs to forage for wild honey. I imagine a cask of wine will be all it takes to smooth things over and bring them to what passes for their senses. In the meantime, if they are accosting travelers as you say, I will contact the castle and ask for military intervention."

Strangely, though he can feel the weight of the liquid inside shifting, and hear it slosh around...nothing comes out. Elwin sticks a finger into the neck of the bottle and shakes it.
