Quentin of course buys the week pass saying, “I can’t wait to see everything I’ll pay to see all the major historical battles. The Ellentar Court has some great illusionist so I’m excited to see what you guys can do. Maybe I’ll even bring my own student here one day.” Quentin says willing to pay for the whole shebang obviously having a soft spot for the gnomes right now.
Mindartis pays for the day pass, though doesn't go for any of the attractions immediately. Instead he decides to browse to see if he could find anything that could be a good present for Arania.
Gnomes happily take your gold and write you up some passes.
Most of the souvenir and gift shops are closed, but the general store has some gift items that Mindartis thinks Arania might like. There is some not-too expensive jewelry, and some carved staves and wands, some with the image of the Great Pixie Tree or the words 'Souvenir of Yonpinagel' on them, which might be nice for a beginning druid. There are cleverly carved fishing lures and decorative snow globes with the Great Pixie Tree or various forest creatures in them. Behind the counter, locked in a transparent case, there is more expensive jewelry and a few magic items--a Staff of Birdcalls, a Candle of the Deep, and a Pole of Collapsing.

For shopping, Del wants to spend about 25GP on expanding his court ensemble, preferably clothes that are expensive but do not show it (to the layman, Q will know of course). Maybe less than the 16 items, trying to be able to go with the set on fine clothes he already has for mix and match? and it is ok if they need to tailor or make stuff and deliver to the court in the next 3 days. A pole of collapsing sounds cool too, cost?
And he'll blow 25 on the week pass. Later he'll try to learn what he can about the Arch Witch and the Assault on the GPT (can they do better than the play about Randal Styles Del knows that was in a post way long ago but I cannot find again?) and maybe come back later in the week for further edification.
But between shopping and Illusions he will try to find a way to sell sugar - he'll ask the clothier about reputable businesses, and maybe Raven can help if this Sharky is the path to less-reputable if push comes to shove. We are trying to get paid, but not gouge, so the economy gets a boost, right? He confers with the others

When you've finished shopping, and those of you who are interested and have bought passes (or paid the 4gp entry fee) enter the Palace of Illusions. The theater is large, made for an audience in the hundreds, but except for you it is empty. As you sit waiting for the show to begin, you hear excited whispers--the gnomes seem thrilled to have someone to perform for.
They open with the travel scenes, first showing various interesting and beautiful places in Talaveroth...from the great stone castle of the dwarf king, Thornæd I in the Nâr Barâk Mountains, to the coral cities of the merfolk beneath the western sea, from halfling farmers harvesting coconuts into wagons pulled by triceratopses, to darkly beautiful and terrible drow cities illuminated only by glowing mushrooms, from this room you see the diverse lands and the greatest wonders of Talaveroth. From there, they begin to show scenes of other planes...the horrors of the Abyss and the Nine Hells, and scenes of the Blood War between the devils and demons. The glorious light of the Mount Celestia, solars flying overhead, reflected in the silver sea. A meadow in the Feywilds filled with lush flowers, a flock of pixies engaged in an elaborate dance in the sky, as below a satyr plays music on his pipes, and a group of Eladrin laugh around a picnic lunch, their children romping nearby with the pups of the blink dogs who share in their merrymaking. A stark plain in the Shadowfell, a Shadar-kai city in the distance, strange for the lack of artistic expression in its architecture, or any expression at all on the faces of the inhabitants.
The tour of planes ends as the image fades to darkness, and soft, sad music begins to play. Slowly, light fills the theater again as you see a glow, and the sun rises behind the image of the Great Pixie Tree. You see that the enormous tree dwarfs the entire city of Yonpinagel in its magnificent size, sheltering the city under its boughs. Millions of pixie lights like stars shimmer from among its leaves. You can hear the gentle rustling of leaves, feel the breeze, and even smell the scent of its bark. This is the most thorough and convincing illusion you have seen so far, and the love that is felt for the Pixie Tree is clear in the detail of the work.
After a brief intermission, the show begins again, this time with the historical reenactments. The settings are illusory, as are the appearances of the characters, but the parts are played by a troupe of actors, a gnome narrator supplying most of the exposition. The acting is on the cheesy side.
The first tale that they play follows the adventures of a brave Halfling ranger. The unnamed Ranger travels through the Westwoods, seeking adventure, when he comes across a band of gnolls that had captured a lot of prisoners. Through cleverness and fine archery, the Ranger defeats the gnolls and frees the prisoners, learning that the gnolls were controlled by a band of evil fey from the Night Court who were collecting slaves. The Ranger is outraged, and swears he will do everything he can to protect the forest. He goes on rescuing slaves, and allies come to join him: he befriends a treeant, a dryad, and the pixies and sprites of the forest. Angry that their slave raids had been interrupted, the Night Court fey sent all their gnolls on a combined raid to wreak havoc upon the forest. The Ranger and his forest allies stood bravely against the ravening gnoll army, but they were too badly outnumbered. Still, they stood their ground and held the enemy off. And then the Night Court fey joined their monstrous army, and hurled fire magic recklessly. When all seemed lost, a great army of wood elves appeared, slaughtering the gnoll horde and driving away the forces of the Night Court. But by then, the Great Pixie Tree was an inferno, and when it crashed to the north, it burned away a huge chunk of the forest. Those who came to fight the gnolls had to turn their strength to fighting the fire before all the Westwoods were burned. In the end, the sad but heroic Ranger was taken to live in a great gnome burrow in the area, to heal his broken heart and make a new life for himself.
Not long after this occurred, the narrator informs you, the Arch Witch broke free from her prison in the Primordial Forest. She called upon her Dark Sisterhood of hags, and the Red Dragonborn Clan, and set out to rule all of Talaveroth, sending red dragonborn armies and her hag minions to every land. The people of Talaveroth fought back, and the Arch Witch was finally defeated at the battle of the Floating Islands, at the capital of the High Elf kingdom. The High Elf Sorcerer King himself took part in the battle against the witch, along with three humans: Bri Stormborn, a mighty warrior: Sir Randal Styles, the famous bard: and Thanicles, the powerful wizard. With powerful magic, the heroes banished the Arch Witch from the Material Plane, and she fell into a time vortex. Thanicles and Randal Styles followed her into the strange future of Talaveroth...
The scene switches to a truly bizarre landscape, trees and rock having been replaced by square black metal constructions with glowing seams, and even the people seem encased in strange gadgets with glowing lights. ((It's the Cyberpunk age!))
The Arch Witch transforms herself into a strange creature made of electricity, cackling evilly. Randal and Thanicles do battle with her! Then the image fades to black.
"Nobody knows exactly how the Arch Witch was defeated," says the narrator. "What we do know is that Randal returned to the Material Plane with a new song to sing, and he and Thanicles said that nobody would have to worry about the Arch Witch again, and that she was trapped far in the future, forever. Did I say nobody knows? That's not true. Sir Randal Styles and Thanicles know, and probably Bri Snowborn and the Sorcerer King. But they have never told anyone the secret, and I believe they never will."
The lights come on, and the cast of actors and illusionists comes out to take a bow. The manager comes out and bows. "We are very grateful for your patronage and the chance to perform. However, our players need some time for rest and lunch now. We hope you will return for more!"

Elwin had nearly retched at some of the shaved ice flavors Quentin had seemed interested in trying. But other than that, he had found the day's events rather entertaining (he paid the 10gp for a day pass.)
While he made several mental notes from the display of the various planes in the Palace of Illusions, it was the secondary performance that engrossed the warlock. He was mesmerized by the story of the unnamed Ranger... impressed by his cleverness, moved by his mission, and saddened by his loss. He found himself having to discretely wipe away a tear at the end.
When the performance ended, he found himself beaming as he stood and clapped with those around him. "Amazing show! Simply amazing!" he said to the audience member beside him--he wasn't sure who it was, but didn't care. He was driven to praise the performance, even if to a complete stranger.
Raven watched the performances, but was mostly uninterested until the battle with the arch witch. She sit sup a bit straighter at this, frowning when she learns that no one knows how the witch was defeated, or how she is imprisoned.
At the intermission Del notes The detail on the Pixie Tree illusion - maybe the creators know enough to give us some useful information about the root system and such. Let's try to talk to them later
Also Del will try to see if he can get interest in the 1500# of sugar we have.
