"This is all your fault," Mindartis looks around at the group. "I knew this was a bad idea. We know absolutly nothing about him, and now Del is missing. This is.... ARRRRRRRG," he slams his fist into the ground, which seems to bring him back to himself. He takes a deep breath, "Forgive me.... the bard reminds me of my sister. She too would think an idea like this would be the best idea."
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Elwin was at a loss. What to do? There was so much they could have done. That they SHOULD have done. "#$!* hindsight," he thought to himself as a desperate idea came to him.
He dashed to the nearest climbable tree. He knew Quentin's familiar was above, but maybe he'd overlooked something; surely a higher vantage point couldn't hurt.
(( Elwin will attempt to climb up 60 feet. At that height, he can see out just over 100 feet from his ground position, and it'll still be within range of his 120-ft darkvision.

“Did anyone here him speak any arcane words? He couldn’t have teleported without speaking. At least a command word for the teleport.” Quentin then begins to pace, “There are the portals between plans opening up. Could they have slipped into one of those. That would be worse if that’s the case. I mean the seals are broken but I don’t know how to travel between plans even with the seals broken. Perhaps someone at the academy can help. I’m sure they have a Conjurer there.”
Raven and Elwin search in vain. Del and the Candyman are just gone....

Holy Mother or Daughter We Are Not Sure! Del exclaims as he appears The Barleyman uses this hoop to get - somewhere? Shadowfell maybe? I don't know - There are ten more blocks with missing kids Del holds out a crystalized rock-candy looking cube with a pixie embedded I think we cannot just break them, Barleyman said it breaks the occupants.

No we gotta hurry fam. Barleyman went over a cliff as I escaped, but I don't know if that kills him or what, and he talked about some "auntie" coming soon, I do not like the sound of. So someone come with, I don't know how many can go through at once but at least two

Candyman is really called Barleyman - this stick-scarecrow-ish looking thing, not quite alive seeming. He took me somewhere using this hoop. There is a no-crap gingerbread house, and in it he had encased missing kids and pixies in what looks like sugar crystal pointing to the pixiecube he just set down Some kind of poison, lucky I know a new spell for that. I grabbed one, turned invisible, stole his hoop holding up the wicker hoop And just barely got away. He almost got me but fell over the cliff. So we gotta go back quick and get the other ten. We can worry about details later come on!

Answering Q Yes, I think it is a portal. It was all gray there, a rock platform and a cliff. I didn't know for sure, but I got back just the same as he took us, pass through the hoop and you appear in the other place, pass again and I got back
Lord Mindartis, you are the strongest of us and have traveled across planes more. I do not know if it is Shadowfell - if that does not cause you any trouble, more than any of us anyway - I wish you would come help.
Or maybe three of us could all go. But some should stay here, be able to tell if something goes wrong, and guard the evacuees. Lord Quentin, my magic was the same potency there, I assume the same would be true
((how many could even fit through the hoop ?))

Elwin stepped forward. "I don't see why we wouldn't go. This is exactly what we wanted." He turned to Del. "I'll join you. Perhaps if you can take a few, then come back, we could even all go along?"
((Sooo, how exactly are you implementing this mechanically? You can all get through, no problem. Just out of mostly pure curiosity, are you going into a very tight group hug and dropping it over all your heads at once? Or making multiple two-person trips with one coming back to ferry the next? Or having one person hold it up like a doorway while the rest walk through? Or something else? XD ))
The world around you disappears, and you find yourself in a strange, grey landscape, on the flat top of a rock column. Even the sky seems grey. Elwin recognizes it as Shadowfell at once, not that he recognizes the actual place, but merely by the look and feel.
You can see a series of flat rock columns, like the one you are on, leading to the face of an immensely tall, sheer cliff. The top of the cliff is hundreds of feet above. The bottom of the chasm is hundreds of feet below. You do not want to fall... ((but jumping from one column to the next is not hard, I will not make you roll until unless you are heavily loaded. ))
On a ledge in the middle of the cliff, you see a gingerbread house. Not like the ones you would imagine from stories, or have seen in bakeshop windows. For one thing, it is grey like all the surrounding landscape. For another thing, no carpenter would ever admit to having built such an awkward, off-kilter shack. You doubt whoever constructed the crooked building ever touched a level. There are no gumdrops decorating it, and no pretty ropes of icing, just a smear or two on the corner of the eaves, as if the wind blew a light snowfall to rest there. Just a lightly sugared hovel made of warped, grey slabs of stale gingerbread.
The canyon around you, even in shade of grey, is awe-inspiring. Incredible depths plunge into obscuring mist. Towering rock spires rise overhead, mind-blowing in their immensity.
