According to Annie Bracken, the Arch Witch was pulled into a strange future world to fight some Westwoods warriors. Annie Bracken SAYS she followed along, invisible, because she was the Arch Witch's apprentice and was ordered to stay hidden. So, she saw them imprison the Arch Witch's soul in a tiny little maze, made out of living crystal with magical power running through it. So. Annie says if we build a maze of living crystal that we can run enough magical power through, the Arch Witch's soul can transfer to OUR maze, and then Annie will sacrifice herself to become the Arch Witch's new vessel."

When Quentin arrives at the Abbey and asks about the portal, a smiling brother leads him to it. The teleport circle is very dusty and could use a sweeping out, and several crates and barrels are piled over it. "It's hardly every used," the brother admits. "But we can move some of the stores out, if you can make use of it. We've gone through a lot of supplies lately, and have room in the cellar." Once the place is cleaned, you can see that the teleport circle is still in working order.
