WIS= 4
As the greataxe strikes the creature's tongue, the cut-into edges grab hold of it. The underside of the tongue moves in almost a wave-like motion and reaches for John's arm.
Attack: 22 Damage: 7
John, you feel the tongue suction itself to your arm as it wraps around you. You are stuck to it and grappled as well. Your speed is zero and it will take an action to roll for freedom. It will be a disadvantage roll, DC 13
Ketch, you bring your hammer down again. You hit the creature and your warhammer is once again stuck. Disadvantage roll, 13.
Ketch will shout out a profanity laden curse and leave the war hammer, for now. Instead the half orc will mutter a little prayer and unleash Sacred Flame upon this sticky barrel with teeth. ((It must make Dex save or take 2 damage))
((Xel-Thoth is up, then Chom. Holding on to Ketch's spell but the creature did fail the save. John, I would ask for a STR check with a Hard DC since you'll be pretty much doing it one-handed))
"Why, it must be hungry! I don't have any food other than my rations, and it would be most impolite to offer a magical barrel rations... perhaps I can pretend to give it food so that it lets go of your weapons!"
Chom flicks his wrist in a direction within the barrel's line of sight, but away from everyone else, producing a magical illusion of a vast, succulent, roast suckling pig, with all the trimmings. "Eat up, my friend!", he shouts to the barrel.
Casting minor illusion. If the barrel even cares that it's there, my hope is that it'll let go of the weapons and go for the pig. INT check against DC 14.

The creature seems to look in the direction of the pig. Then bites down on John's arm and tries to back away.
Attack: 6 Damage: 7 piercing, 4 acid.
Ketch casts Sacred Flame. The faint glow settles on the creature.
With a roar, John grabs at the creature with his free hand and tries to lift it up. The smoothness of the sides make it hard to grip and it slips back down to the ground.
He is frustrated that his spells seem to have little or no effect on the creature. He can't cast any of his other spells in fear of them damaging the others over that of the creature.

"Its too sticky!" John yells, his words ringing in a blend of fear and anger. Then he goes in to a Rage.
((Will going into a rage negate the disadvantage? Since rage gives advantage on STR checks and saves?))
(( Yeah, should be a straight roll.))
((What if i wanted to try and pick it up, as opposed to freeing myself from its grip?))

((Lift it up over his head and slam it into another barrel))
((Both he and the barrel would then be attached))
(I'm good with that! What would be the roll to complete the action? And what would my roll be to then try and detach myself on my next turn)
((Hard DC is 20. Releasing yourself is 13.))
The fortitude of this beast/object is truly amazing. But it seems at the very least my magic seems to be hurting it.
Xel-Thoth once again cast Toll The Dead on the barrel.
Wis Save DC 13 or else take 3 damage (necrotic).
Wis Save: 20
The spell does not take effect.
Chom up.
John attempts to lift the creature off the ground and slam it into the closest non-toothed barrel! Athletics roll: 8
"Aggk! So so sticky!"
((Roll to break free when my turn comes back around.))
DC 13 roll W/Athletics applied: 21

Xel-Thoth, next.
Xel-Thoth casts Toll the Dead again.

((It was supposed to be an advantage roll but since I forgot I'll let it stand. We'll say it went to bite but you twisted and it just scraped you.))
((The notice above was because I did reroll with advantage before I decided not to use it. I erased it and then rolled for Toll the Dead, a fail))
There is a briefest second where the barrel isn't there and a grey something is. Then the second is gone and the barrel returns.
Chom.
